Mods see anyone active regardless of visibility status. Players know this, which is why in a game like this is pointless to hide yourself. Anyway, there are no rules prohibiting that. We would have penalized if they were. It's even common game strategy for other players to ask a mod to show it. As long as said mod is still a player, then it's fair game.
If it wasn't allowed the hosts would reprimand me.

How you tell if that very mod is being honest and not a filthy liar if he is a player. He/She could simply mislead. The hosts have to do then if it's allowed for mods to help players. I can't take it from a player like Brandish who plays with us.

Well, technically, that would still be part of the game. No different from claiming/lying about a role. Framing others is also part of the game. Those bits aren't things hosts regulate. By the way, there is no special tool we use to check. It just shows all the names at the bottom instead of some hidden. A 'fake' would involve said mod using photoshop or something to alter a screenshot. It's not as though the accused player cannot defend himself (same as anything else in the game). Naturally, none of these issues would exist if players didn't hide visibility while playing ..
By all means it's not fair. At least it should be allowed to ask different mods about it or you as host mod should do it.
It's a lying game (at least for the mafia). Other mods (playing) can do it. Hosts are neutral, so no we can't do it. The players are free to disregard or disbelieve the player (mod) who revealed it.
Do you understand my point? He has an extra privilege and he could use it against players. He should keep it to himself or to balance it out, A host mod can do it for all players.
I understand your point and I'm saying it is fair game. As said, the extra privilege only exists because of players trying to hide. Any mod player is free to share the information or keep it to himself. It's not the hosts place to do that. Also, we have gone on about this for a bit so let's end it here. No rules are being broken.
