I actually find the background in the LCP much more interesting than the characters themselves lol. I don't know if it's the angle but their faces are drawn in a weird way.

The cover is very cool, in the color page, maybe because the angle, the mc looks a bit strange. Overall it really looks different from the one shot, it looks much more "typical" than unique, which is a bit worrying to me, but well, wait and see.

I like the cross shape in the girl's eyes. They look like Power (from CSM) I generally like weirdly shaped eyes like how Tanjiro's eyes are octagonal or how Makima's eyes look like concentric circles

How on earth does it look "different"? The author just tidied up their artstyle for serialization, that's all.

I don't think you checked the one shot, because so far it looks a lot different than the one shot the designs, clothes, atmosphere feels much more "typical" and etc.

And how do you know anything based on a single LCP?

Both LCPs have pretty much the same composition. Even if the Bone Collection author created this color page without any influence from KnY, it's still an interesting similarity.

Whats the best one shot WSJ has published in the last 10-15 years, in your opinion, that never became a full fledged series? Just name the series and detail why you think it was the best you thought. No need to attack each other's opinion.

how about making that period to 5 years?
Akage no Acho: oneshot from Full Drive author, protagonist who's a young mma artists get engaged, has to balance between personal and pro life, pretty Ranma-esque
Million Kingdom: a robot that defends humanity from evil robots discovers he's made by the same people that made the evil robots, starts having an identity crisis
Dondohare: a ghost hunter and a ghost team up to take down the serious evil ghosts, pretty Ushio to Tora-esque

more recently last years' Hakutei no Erica, Kiraboshi no Meryl & Kakuremi were pretty fun too

Forgot about the Erica one-shot. There was a possibility that it would be getting serialized this summer due to the Olympics, but now that it's been delayed, there's no telling when the author will get the chance. Especially considering that it's still a huge uncertainty if we'll even get an Olympics next year.

One thing I'd like the serialization to do is have the horse be a little bit more like Chestnut from Silver Spoon to create a better dynamic.

The mc wearing more typical exorcist clothes and using paper seals it's more than enough to show the serialization will be different from the one shot, the girl's clothes also give her a very different vibe from the one shot, you can easily see that will be different at some extention, UU looked from the start pratically the same as the one shot.
