Even if both were equal to WB in 1vs1, he still deserves the WSM title since the other two don't have the power to destroy the world while WB has.
Titles are just fine unless you can point a finger at someone else who should have such a title instead.
I would take Whitebeard power to "destroy the world" with a grain of salt. He had to go sinking island by island, and he would never finish it in his life span... Aokiji could freeze an entire island too, for example.

Unless you can point to the manga where it says WB is called the WSM solely because he has the quake fruit. Akainu's Magma fruit or Kizarus could be just as destructive as quakes. Same for Kaido and his Dragon Fruit.
In fact Oda says the Magma fruit is the most offensive DF in OP (unless im thinking of a mistranslatiom) and he isn't considered the WSM... and thats because it has nothing to do with the DF but the person weilding it.
Title haven't been fine sinc the first one was given... all except Pirate King are meaningless.

Seeing as how Teach didn't inherit the title of World's Strongest Man with Whitebeard's Devil Fruit, I would say that the fruit isn't the reason for it. There have been quite a few moments at this point where it could've been revealed that he has the title, his most recent title card in particular.

That's my point. WB was called the strongest man because no other man could defeat him (Kaido was defeated plenty of times).
Mihawk is the strongest among swordsmen because no other swordsman can defeat him.
And Kaido is the strongest creature, because there are no creatures stronger than him. And imo that doesn't include humans because in OP racism levels are quite high and again in my opinion they don't quite see giants, fishmen, minks etc as equals to humans.
So Kaido (dragon or oni, but more than likely not human) falls into the same category as minks/fishmen/sea kings. Closer to beasts, monsters, animals.
My assumption is that a few years after Oden's death Kaido started to challenge strong creatures and we know that Wano Kuni is abundant with different kinds of species (i.e. numbers, komainu, mountain god).
So I'm assuming there was something/someone that Kaido had to defeat in order to prove himself worthy of the title "World's Strongest Creature". Like a continent puller whose skull we see in Onigashima.

I don't see how it doesn't include humans, tbh. But, didn't Kaidou say or imply that Whitebeard has beaten him before? Would be nice if Oda listed all the hypes for the top fighters, because I'm not sure if he and Whitebeard shared hypes like to bet on either when they fight someone one-on-one.

Akainu is just as destructive if not more so and that directly said by Oda
And one WOULD assume that if context wasn't added. But you have Garp and Roger who were considered his equal. Not once was it stated Whitebeard somehow had an advance over them in any way. Even Sengoku is up there, only that Garp is far more emphasized as it pertains to legendary marines.
Even more importantly Whitebeard is known as the ONLY pirate to have fought Roger seriously and LIVED, the only one.
Buggy even claims Whitebeard is the worlds more powerful LIVING Pirate, insinuating it is only because he is dead.
I say that because Whitebeard may not have gone all out. I mean, he and Roger by all intents seemed to have had friendly fights, and Whitebeard's goal was never to become the Pirate King, so he wasn't really Roger's enemy. I'm not sure where Garp comes into with Whitebeard, though, or with Roger as all we have is hearsay. Nothing that states much.
Right now though, Buggy would probably know better as he was part of Roger's crew.

Yeah, and there was also something else that implied somehow that Whitebeard did beat him before.
Exactly. Might not be friendly at first, but it turned into a party. Who's to say that they didn't just clash few times to test out strength and after that just get alogn and have fun? Plus, it seems like Whitebeard and Garp were the only ones Roger talked to at the end with complete trust in them. He didn't even tell Rayleigh to watch over Ace and Rouge.

I highly doubt there were any casualties on both sides.
Why would they fight to death? I honestly think that's not how Roger would want his crew to act against another crew that they don't see as legit enemies.
Should Luffy fight Kid or Law I cannot imagine any of them finishing anyone off. Purely out of respect.
