It's strange that I've heard very little about it being 9/11 today, except for news about the Bin Laden video. It's kinda bad if the world begins to forget about something like that.

Then you must be tuned in to the wrong channels cause on the news they also talked about all the services their having and that was pretty much all they talked about for today, 9-11

But people will forget, thats why America was attacked in the first place...casue their so forgetfull. Gulliani says that they should change the ceremony each year on 9-11 so they can keep it relevant.

Anyway i was wondering how long on average does it take for people to become Translator Status...Is it by the amount they translate...Do you know PY?

I'm not entirely sure, Zwivix, but I believe it has to do with how many translations you have done ^^ Check out njt's Translator Guide for more info, or ask a trans-mod like Xophy, Sai, or Schwindelmagier, they should know better than I

I don't know if it's forgetting so much as feeling so safe and secure in our normal lives, that such things happening to us seem impossible. That's how I remember feeling about it, anyway.

But i dont think its a feeling of safety when every time you seen an arabic person on an airplane you get scared....people forget...they flew the american flag in their cars for a couple months then what.."Oh, well back to my regular life"

yeah, i went to get a new social security number card today (i lost my old one while we were moving) and i had to sign and date this form, so i asked what the date was. got the response 9-11, and thinking to myself "well, i picked a great day to make a trip to a federal government building. if some new age Timothy McVeigh comes along and blows this place up, I'm gunna be pissed.

impel, its not that surprising. can you say off the top of your head the dates of president Kennedy's assassination, or the Oklahoma City bombing, the first wtc bombing, the London subway bomb, the Spanish train bombs, or the USS Cole Bombing? in this day and age, we are too desensitized to death to take note anymore.

Omg that would have sucked(can i say that).But i dont think terrorist go for small targets unless u go to a big Social Security building.

This might be a sign but in the last post you used the words to make up "Death Note" maybe Light is real and he's using the Death Note to kill us....Wooow scary.!

i think that it is also because all that is about putting fear in people's minds... and that is one of the terrorists objective (not always, sometimes it's just because of political reasons), hence the name... So, if we let the fear reside in our minds, then life would suck, living always without comfort, worrying all the time, never trusting anyone... therefore, i think that all that kind of dates, and the events that took place back then, should be forgotten if we want to move on and improve as persons who live in a society, but also learn from that... it might sound contradicting, but just learn the important (if there was something important) and forget that bad things happened...

zwi, it was a federal government building, not just the ssa. just like the one mcveigh bombed. daycare and everything (i rode up in the elevator with a nice, albeit, talkative woman working for the daycare. but that was on the fifth floor. in the Oklahoma City bombing it was the second floor)
