I think it is going to be hard if this one doesn't top that since the upcoming three volumes will only have 3 days for their first week.
Oh dang, that's true. That would be disappointing if it never got to beat that record solely because of less days.
maybe someone already notice and this been discussed..
BattleBowl for newbie battle manga they all come in pair/duo.. as shown in their first (chapter) LCP:
Zipman (rip) = twins (one of them as suit)
Undead Unluck = well, undead and unluck
Guardian of the witch = guardian + witch
Bone collection = shaman + yokai
and even Burn the witch
thats 5 times in row..
did shueisha panic and start looking in their one shot library and take on that had a pair on it.. haha you know why.. or its just coincidence, shuesha with blindfold rolled the dice and got combo 5 straight times..??
nvm...
Most of the time, battle series are never a single lead. It's either a duo or multiple people.
Single protagonists makes the setting boring, characters won't stand out etc etc.
Take the biggest two series right now in the industry. Kimetsu and One Piece. Kimetsu was always a duo. One Piece is a lot more than 1 person.
Take some of the biggest battle series from the last 25 years. HxH (Gon x Killua mostly, 2 others usually there), Naruto (Team 7), Bleach (Ichigo and Rukia), Reborn (Tsuna and Reborn), Gintama (Trio). Heck, even a short non-battle series like Death Note (L and Kira or Kira and Ryuk, depending on how you want to see it) etc etc etc.
You can do the same for stuff that aren't in WSJ as well or aimed at a different demographic like Kingdom, Tokyo Ghoul etc.
Even sports manga do this. Haikyuu!!, Kuroko, Ace of Diamond are some examples in sports manga. Assassination Classroom, Dr. Stone, Act Age, Bakuman are some other examples from non-conventional manga.
This is the case for most movies, tv series or anything, really.
