Henceforth, I will be deleting posts that complain about Weekly Shonen Jump having too many/not enough gag/battle/exorcism/sports/etc series.

These posts are not insightful, and do not meaningfully contribute to this thread. Also, this decision is not up for discussion, so posts discussing this decision will also be deleted.~ Halloween

You guys are not wrong in saying that the OP anime is bad compared to the manga and that seasonal is a superior format in terms of quality, but you should also keep in mind that it's also the price you pay for constant presence, just look how much not having an anime running for a couple years hurt haikyuu for example. OP's anime might not be a great adaptation but it has certainly played a key role in keeping it popular throughout the years, which is something that I don't think gets brought up enough.

Kimetsu no Yaiba whistles in the distance

I know it's an anomaly, but still. You have a good point, I just wanted to present some sort of counter to that.

I'm not saying it's wrong, it's just that seasonal format feels to me like it gives a bigger burst of "temporary" popularity but struggles more to actually stabilize it. Once the anime stops airing for some time the series' popularity tends to drop a lot more compared to a long-running format.

Is there a proper source on that?

I kind of wish Toei took Pierrot's approach more often and made more filler episodes and arcs instead of just padding out canon material to fill 20 mins.
Naruto, Bleach, and other series by them seem to have less trouble with that compared to Toei's series. And obviously, there's no way usually a long-running series can go on hiatus to "build up material", especially if they're a massive money maker.
Though someone said "TV ratings dropped" for OP when they did something like that so I dunno.

Didn't people say the same thing when he said MAPPA?
Yeah, cause that was unconfirmed. I generally find Yonkou to be reliable a lot of the time, but I'd still prefer to wait until we get actual confirmation of an anime.

Whenever Chainsaw Man anime gets confirmed, people are gonna be salty if it ends up not getting the cover.

Didn't Toei do that in the beginning? They had whole filler arcs from One Piece. I hear some of them were actually good.

The OP G8 filler arc was great from what I remember but they can also adapt the cover stories.

They did drop. The anime actually was on the verge of cancellation around Ennis Lobby as a result.

Filer is also borderline impossible for OP because of how arc post Thriller Bark are structured.

Didn't people say the same thing when he said MAPPA for JJK?
I'm pretty sure people were speculating elsewhere about JJK getting MAPPA before he mentioned it (on Baidu maybe), and he's gotten plenty wrong before too.

I want to know if there's an actual reason to state Chainsawman is getting an anime right now, because with no source that's just a random twitter post saying something we already know. Of course it's getting an anime.

here is going to be more saltness of not getting main cover than gladness of getting anime
I hope they are wrong again (like they were with the Mao announcement a few weeks ago), cause no cover would make me very salty
If this is true I'd be mad for many reasons:
-Neverland getting more covers and better treatmente by Nak than freaking Kimetsu for its end (and its 8 climax)
-If Neverland ends in next chapter, then it will be having a special treatment only Kochikame and Slam Dunk have enjoyed
-Act-age not getting the cover for the anime, which I think has only happened to Hinomaru and Yuuna in this decade
-Then, they could have delayed the Act-age cover for next issue, but the cover is already confirmed for One Piece (and unlike Neverland, One Piece is getting the cover for no reason)
Why being mad about it ? Can you all just be happy if it's true ? Cover or not.
Honestly, you should reconsider your priorities.

Feel like he’s sorta trolling with the Chainsaw Man anime post. Under his Tokyo Revengers posts ppl are questions about when Chainsaw Man is coming, and accusing him of being wrong.
Feel like this is him sarcastically just saying “Chainsaw Man Anime Is Getting An Anime”, because obviously it’ll get an anime at some point.

Who knows though

Okay, the CSM getting an anime thing isn't revelatory in the slightest. We all know that's going to happen.

The Fire Punch thing is way more shocking, and I'm honestly wondering if Yonk isn't just trolling.

How the hell would Fire Punch even be possible? Beyond the graphic content which puts even hard dark VNs like Muramasa and Subahibi to shame, a lot of the story is structured in such a way to where it be borderline impossible to comfortably fit into 22 minute episodes.

Man, now I can post right now that Mashle is getting an anime and call it first without any need of a source or proof instead of waiting for factual information.

I tought we already learned on waiting but I guess not.

Yonko has proven himself to be 1. Not a liar and 2. Someone with actual insider information.

People have reason to believe this.
