Henceforth, I will be deleting posts that complain about Weekly Shonen Jump having too many/not enough gag/battle/exorcism/sports/etc series.

These posts are not insightful, and do not meaningfully contribute to this thread. Also, this decision is not up for discussion, so posts discussing this decision will also be deleted.~ Halloween

It could be worse, like Toei animating it.

Poor One Piece and Toriko.
Eh! Toei is improving right now, I love they did accepting foreign animators to expand their talents and they're sakugas are getting more improved. My personal favorite are Henry thurlow (American animator), Mitchell Gonzales (New Zealand animator), and the Golden boy of Toei Tu-yong ce and his boys (Chinese animator).

I can't wait on how do they animate World Trigger soon with their style of animations. Don't sleep those animators.

Btw! Digimon 2020, Pretty cure and One piece at the same time are very consistent. it's insane if they do with Dragon quest Dai too. Build a new studio building is pretty worth it.

I kind of wish Toei took Pierrot's approach more often and made more filler episodes and arcs instead of just padding out canon material to fill 20 mins.
Naruto, Bleach, and other series by them seem to have less trouble with that compared to Toei's series. And obviously, there's no way usually a long-running series can go on hiatus to "build up material", especially if they're a massive money maker.
Though someone said "TV ratings dropped" for OP when they did something like that so I dunno.
The Padded Canon filler in Wano was very well received (watch those clips on YouTube and they were all positive unlike those previous arcs) even for Manga readers who did enjoy those too. The Zoro and Sanji padded scene was cleverly done and I think they don't need to create filler arcs anymore as long those padded Canon are still enjoyable to watch and it's nothing like Dressrosa arc anymore.

It was done by newbie staffs that's why the quality ramp up until it will returned back the Glory days of East blue saga level of adaptation.

Thanks! I'll use these numbers to keep track from now on, lol.

It's really nice to see TPN keeping up with Haikyu!! and MHA without an anime airing this year. Volume 18 was released like 2 months ago, right? I was surprised to see it show up in this week's top 10!

I can't wait to see the backlog next year with Season 2 and the movie! It should be even more interesting with the series completed.

In this day I associate Toei as "we aren't doing new stuff, just reboots or remakes of 90s and 00s stuff"

PS: I had a dream. Chainsawman by Trigger. Please, let that dream become reality

There's Kyousougiga, an original standalone anime from Toei. The animation itself like you thought it was made from Project IG or Trigger and it had God tier OST too. It's just Toei doesn't utilize well their originals over the popular ones like One piece and Dragon ball or because of their bad reputation that's why people are tend to ignore their stuffs.

If there's an anime that i wanted to be mainstream is Pretty cure series (one of the few anime's who got Guinness world record) and these wasted Sakuga's are just wasn't meant for kids shows. This anime is long running mind you but can you imagined if this level of animation when they do seasonal? I'm highly confident they will beat Ufotable no doubt and people shouldn't slept Toei.

I mean, Precure is pretty popular in Japan, though out west the only people I really see watching Precure are sakuga enthusiasts. And I think Toei shows have gotten better in terms of animation. Digimon Adventure: comes to mind.

Makes me curious about how the Dai remake will fare.

IF WT 2nd season were to get those animations I'd be a happy fan.

I think it's always important to note if reprints are going straight to bookstores or if a share is going to bookstores and the rest is going to warehouses.

Just so people differentiate the types of reprints. While getting reprints is important of course, the demand varies between them. In this case, it's a low demand so the editorial department is playing safe and testing waters so they don't have the risk of volumes returning to them.
