Henceforth, I will be deleting posts that complain about Weekly Shonen Jump having too many/not enough gag/battle/exorcism/sports/etc series.

These posts are not insightful, and do not meaningfully contribute to this thread. Also, this decision is not up for discussion, so posts discussing this decision will also be deleted.~ Halloween

Does anyone want to do a re-read project of Bakuman?
I'm re-reading it following MangaPlus and it's been quite fun.

Maybe a re-read project of some other re-releases of the app could be fun.

Just so people differentiate the types of reprints. While getting reprints is important of course, the demand varies between them. In this case, it's a low demand so the editorial department is playing safe and testing waters so they don't have the risk of volumes returning to them.
Like S8 you mean?
Aww, I hoped this meant V.1 is selling better than expected. Technically it is its 2nd reprint so that's good in itself but the low demand part is a bit sad.

I don't remember the type of the first reprint (maybe it was 一一, which would be better), but in this case, the reprints are just being stocked until bookstores run out of them and they are requested. It doesn't necessarily mean they are going for sale at some point. It's even called "weak reprint".

Animation looks average and it has a really strong 80's vibe. The soundtrack is pretty good.

For some reason I have the feeling Toei is going to edo tensei Kinnikuman next

PD: I only wanted that treatment for Hoshin Engi, not that crap anime reboot ;_;

Not sure why we keep talking about random twitter people and promoting their account here when it's been proven before that they get just as many things wrong as they get right.
Can I call MHA will get a season 6 right now? Or should I tease the fuck outta people with "insider" information, maximize clicks and activity to my posts and then provide information that could be just as wrong as it could be right?

People who actually gave a shit about "reliable" information would not do any of the above.
But whatever, keep feeding their desire to get attention I guess.

So SxF has overtaken HQ on a volume to volume basis, right?

That JK backlog is great!

Dai casting thread begins here:
The color palette definitely makes it seem like an older anime. I'm intrigued.

How many medieval series have we had in Shonen Jump?
-Dragon Quest Dai no Daiboken
-BASTARD (medieval meets postapocaliptic)
-Black Clover
-Guardian of the Witch (in axe watch)
-White Knight (will be launched in 2030)

What else?

PD: My wishes:
-Rokudenashi Blues anime (come on, it deserves it)
-Hoshin Engi true anime reboot

Horikoshi's previous series Barrage was a medieval one, I think
Might be wrong.

From Land of Obscusion:

Amazingly enough, in the entire history of Jump up until 2015, high fantasy was rarely, if ever, a successful genre. Sure, there were plenty of stories that went into the fantastical, but in terms of straight up "swords & sorcery" manga, the only truly notable ones up to this point were Bastard!!, which actually took place in a post-apocalyptic version of the real world, & Dragon Quest: Dai no Daibouken, which was based on a previously-existing video game series. At the very least, that likely helped give Black Clover by Yuki Tabata something of an instant appeal when it debuted in early 2015...
Tbh I'm surprised this genre has been so small in Jump history.

Horikoshi's previous series Barrage was a medieval one, I think
Wasn't Barrage some sort of The Little Prince? I should check it

Hey guys, does fanbook sales are counted when it comes to a manga series' total sales?? KNY either have 61.7m sales or 62.7m total sales ahah :) Can't wait to see if it will reach 70m before next volume's release.

A lot of the times spin offs are also counted in total numbers for a franchise, so fanbooks will probably be counted.

Yusaku Shibata (Zipman) will do the writing and art for a Avan manga spinoff of Dai no Daibouken. To launch on V Jump.

Huh, would you look at that. Good for him, get some safe income while probably preparing his new series on the side and then hopefully have a go again in the future.

Glad to see he's still sticking around. It would be a complete waste if his art was not put into good use.
