Henceforth, I will be deleting posts that complain about Weekly Shonen Jump having too many/not enough gag/battle/exorcism/sports/etc series.

These posts are not insightful, and do not meaningfully contribute to this thread. Also, this decision is not up for discussion, so posts discussing this decision will also be deleted.~ Halloween

Agravity had one of the most boring chapters of its run so far, it got better towards the end though. Moriking had a pretty funny chapter this week, also it set up some stakes for the future of the plot. I'm curious about the twist in The Promised Neverland, but not so much, after being disappointed with the story for so long I can only wait to see what happens. Ghostwriter got a bit confusing towards the end, but I guess this is how the paradox will play out? I liked the exchange between Sasaki and Aino though, and I really enjoyed the two panels where Sasaki and Aino are drawn different from the other.

This best part of this week's chapter of Chainsaw Man was seeing the dynamics Denji, Power and Aki have while living together, didn't care about the gig with Power. However, the ending got me curious, that place has shown up a few times and we know barely anything about it. Act-Age keeps making me want to see Yonagi acting in Kuroyama's movie but it'll only happen in the far off future. Still, the story is being set up pretty well and I can't complain of what's happening. My Hero Academia was still action packed this week and next week we are getting a really big fight, I'm excited.

I am actually surprised by the reception here. I think Ghost Writer is one of the worst new Manga in Jump this year. I don't want to go on tirade here but in the end, my main problems are with the MC and a lot of bad plot elements, just for the sake of moving the plot along.

Chainsaw-Man was great this week. I love the SoL parts in the Manga. I feel like Makima will be the villain in the next arc but that's just a guess, so hopefully its not spoiler territory.
JJK was great like usual. MoriKing is kinda fun as far as gag series for children go. I tried Mashle again but i just can't really enjoy it, so i will drop it. AA was fine as a normal build up chapter.

Lately Jump has been rather weak. JJK and CSM are the only Manga, i still really look forward to.

A particular line stuck out to me about TPGW: “The readers just want to enjoy the manga, they don’t care about the artist!”

I wonder how true of a statement this is.

I’d say it’s very true, given that a number of mangaka with a successful series who came back only to get axed

I find this quote ironic since there were people expecting this manga because the artist is Date

TPN- I’m sorry I couldn’t defend this chapter this chapter wasn’t it. While I do like happy endings, I feel a manga of this nature should have some at least drawbacks to the ending. This should have ended this chapter honestly with out this extra stuff (yes I get jump is losing a lot of signboard works right now but still). The appeal of TPN was that it was very different from everything else in the magazine and it’s unpredictability. Now it’s so predictable it’s not even funny. Honestly my least favorite chapter in the series.
MHA- On better news what started out as a predictable shonen is now extremely intriguing, suspenseful, and unpredictable. This manga really has me on the edge of my seat and if it keeps this quality up I can definitely see a boost when the anime comes out. Seriously can’t wait for the next chapter because this manga is getting better and better each chapter.
Mori king- Again good wholesome fun to read with all the chaos going on in the other manga. At this point I really hope this doesn’t get axed.
Dr stone- Finally something interesting. I just really want either another huge arc and/or a new cool invention.
Chainsawman- One thing I absolutely love about chainsawman as much as the action and suspense are the wholesome moments. I absolutely love the growing relationship between power and denji which made me appreciate her even more. Also love Denji’s character development and I’m glad he didn’t just stay a parody of shonen protags (Even though he still has that in him). I personally feel this series has the best writing in jump.
Act age- The hype is absolutely insane. So glad jump made the right decision and did not axe it (considering it had sold 3 million copies as of now). Seriously can’t wait for this to get an anime and become huge in the west.
TPGW- This chapter did not go the way I expected (in a good way). Seriously absolutely love this manga this is the best quality of the first 3 chapters since chainsawman. Hope jump makes more series of this quality in jump later down this year. If this gets axed (especially if yozakura and gotw which stays) I’m going to be heart broken.
Mitama security- Welp with this chapter it looks like it isn’t cancelled for right now. Also that last page 😂🤣.
Mashle- This is such an amazing comedy manga. This definitely feels very different from MP 100 and OPM as the comedy/ writing is much different comparing the series. Like I said if this doesn’t get axed and gets animated by a good studio (bones) this can be the next huge thing.
Undead unlock- Same with mashle the quality and potential is going up exponentially. Seriously have been enjoying these past few chapters.
Agrivity boys- decent chapter made me laugh a few times and it was very weird. Nothing much else to really say.

This week's top 5:
1. Mitama Security - Tons of top-tier designs unleashed this chapter. It doesn't feel like it's going to end next chapter, so maybe it'll get to another volume's worth of chapters? I certainly hope so!
2. Mashle - Solid chapter, both funny and with great action too. This series has really grown on me.
3. Undead Unluck - Best girl Fuuko really pulls through when it counts most.
4. Moriking - Another really funny chapter. The parents are pretty hilarious, and Shoko's friends actually interacting with Moriking is an unexpected delight.
5. Chainsaw Man - Power best girl. Stuff like this is why I even bother reading this series lol.

The best of the rest:
6. Mission: Yozakura Family - Nice seeing a decent amount of Mutsumi this chapter, and Goliath is a cute dog.
7. Yuragi-sou no Yuuna-san - Glad the suffering from the past few weeks has been dialed back a notch. Yuuna best girl.
8. Act-Age - Pretty good chapter this week. Feels like there's still quite a bit of story left to tell.
9. We Never Learn - Pretty eh way to start the arc.
10. Agravity Boys - Best chapter in quite a while. HB is the only thing somewhat decent about this series.
11. Time Paradox Ghostwriter - I'm finding the MC to be pretty unlikeable. This chapter just felt like a lot of rambling to me. The girl is cute, but that's it.
12. Bone Collection - What even happened this chapter? I'll be shocked if this series doesn't get ranked in the bottom 5 by its third chapter, and basically dead last soon after.

You just need to look at how some mangaka are treated on social media when readers don't like the decisions they take in their work to see how much they care about them.

next week series starts its volume 21, so nah
Volume 20 could always just be a chapter longer. I think they'd be marketing if it was the last chapter this week though.

Same could be said about the editor in chief. I feel shonen jump should use the Sunday, champion, and magazine axe method and actually give series a chance unless they are absolutely abysmal. I have seen a ton of series with potential be axed with only 20 chapters. I get that it is the hugest magazine and all but can they be a little less strict. Why don’t they just transfer some manga to jump plus instead of outright canceling them. I just feel it is disrespectful to not give people a chance considering the amount of blood, sweat, and tears of being a mangaka, especially a weekly one.

JJK was pure unadulterated hype this week, and I'm calling next chapter getting #1 on the poll now.

This week has been pretty weak tbh. My Hero Academia has been superb, but barring it (and maybe Dr.Stone too), almost everything was in transition or with boring chapters.

Honestly, it will be hard to compete with My Hero Academia cause it set up some real hype, unless it doesn't deliver. That being said, glad to see best boy back in Jujutsu this week and I hope he fights next week.

1) I don't see how it is disrespectful. Jump has always had a high cancellation rate and everyone knows that. If you decide to write a manga in Jump, I'm pretty sure you would already know that there is a high possibility of you getting axed. If you know the risks and decide you still want to do (and get axed) that is really no ones fault.
