Animation studio has nothing with runtime/skipping chapters. It all depends on the episode count the production committee/TV studio gives it and the series composer that's put on the project and has to work within the count. Those series only had a finite amount of episodes to adapt manga with hundreds of chapters. Cuts were inevitable.

If the anime is already in production, I hope that it's long-running like HxH and FMA (that could explain the far off airdate). I haven't read the manga before so I'm very excited to watch the anime!

Plus even if they have to condense the material, you can bet that knowing Takei, he will be overseeing it and be involved.

Yeah true. Just saying, I think Voln did a good job at adapting those shows in a limited amount of episodes.

I hope this gets the HxH treatment as well, because I prefer they adapt everything.

Takei got his wish for the original anime music and cast after all, with King Records producing. And getting better treatment for the SK series from Kodansha too. Can't blame him at all for leaving Shueisha.

It never happened I assume was because of the lawsuit he had at the time which lead to Takeshi's manga being cancelled.

It wasn't a lawsuit but a scandal. Anyway Shueisha had no problems showing it in the 50th anniversary and it's been nearly 2 decades since that incident. I doubt they would complain.

It does have potential to be a hit with the children audience. I wouldn't even mind if Toei did it with their new filter look and all.

I would imagine they would need a whole new cast if the originals from the pilot aren't around. Overall, my hopes is more if the comedy and action (it really gets great when it happens) will still be the same when animated.
