Moderator Notice:
Henceforth, I will be deleting posts that complain about Weekly Shonen Jump having too many/not enough gag/battle/exorcism/sports/etc series.

These posts are not insightful, and do not meaningfully contribute to this thread. Also, this decision is not up for discussion, so posts discussing this decision will also be deleted.~ Halloween

These folks just go in and buy demon slayer and dip huh. if even 10% branch out to multiple series, that would be big.

20 million jump between May and June (single month), my dude. 60M to 80M.
I was more fascinated around the circumstances of that 2-months period. The first season just ended a few months ago, and it was steadily rising in 2-4M sales, and then suddenly jumped 15M in total sales.

This manga is basically confirmed to be a top 5 jump best seller. On top of it selling a rough estimate of about 120 million before the movie comes out (which will boost sales for sure). There will also be season 2, 2 video games (1 for mobile phones and one triple a video game), and the constant milking this franchise will get i am betting on it passing 200 million at one point and having the highest sales per volume average of all time.

I seriously can’t believe that this manga especially in this day in age would become one of the best selling mangas of all time. If you told me this would happen April of last year I would think that would be the hugest reach someone could possibly make. If anything I would more likely expect MHA being shonen jump’s next multi million seller but even then not to this degree.

I would have just asked if they are high and what they took so that I can get on the same level as them. XD

Unless a miracle happens, no other upcoming series can even top the records Kimetsu ever did.
Reprints Information - 6/23

Spy x Family 1~4 - 7/10

Going straight to bookstores.
You might have your miracle here with SxF. Several hundred ks per volume with vol.1 still getting reprints to this day was something KnY and many other series could only dream off in their first 4 volumes. Who knows what an anime might do for this. Could be hardly anything or could be an insane boost ala KnY, we will see, but I think this one has the best chances to become an even bigger surprise once its anime reaches readerbases who don't touch a manga until they saw an anime of it.

If you want me to be honest since one piece is the biggest manga in Japan and when a huge series ends there is a huge jump in sales I can maybe see it breaking the record.

Yeah, I would like some evidence behind this assumption, hypothetically One Piece, being an already established series that pretty much everyone in japan has already heard about, shouldn't be capturing new readers through discovery.
You could argue that "people that read one piece stopped buying one piece to buy kimetsu, now, since they won't be spending money on kimetsu, they will spend it on one piece again" but One Piece has remained stable throughout Kimetsu Boom

Maybe mentioning series that have done this will add some substance to your assumption.

Its not just finding new readers but also recovering the readers that it has lost since the strong world boost. I do think OP will get a backlog boost once its over but at the same time I don't expect it to top Kimetsu's sales records.

As for Kimetsu sales records being topped, yeah it will have to be a result of a miracle, just like how it was miracle that Kimetsu got this big in the first place.

Honestly, I'd rate what's happening with Kimetsu right now that sort of miracle you're referring to. Noone expected any manga would come and break One Piece's yearly sales record and then Kimetsu came along and beat it as if it's nothing.

While I can't see anything ever beat Kimetsu's record, miracles usually happen when you least expect them. So who knows, maybe a new manga comes along the way in the next 10-20 years and somehow beats these records when we least expect it, just like Kimetsu did this year.

I should have said that a long time ago.

read a Yabuki manga without an ecchi you know, it's like going to read a Shun Saeki manga without an ecchi, an Oku Hiroya manga without some bizarre or a Togashi manga without a hiatus.

What about Black Cat? Minimal amount of fanservice. No more than any other Jump battle manga.
You guys are putting Yabuki in this box based off of two manga he didn't even write.
Honestly I'm not sure if Ayakashi Triangle is my cup of tea based on the first two chapters. However even those two chapters had minimal amounts of ecchi for what you'd expect a series with this premise to have.
Perhaps Yabuki isn't as focused on fanservice as the people in this thread (who probably haven't even read one of his series) making him out to be.
