What about Black Cat? Minimal amount of fanservice. No more than any other Jump battle manga.
You guys are putting Yabuki in this box based off of two manga he didn't even write.
Honestly I'm not sure if Ayakashi Triangle is my cup of tea based on the first two chapters. However even those two chapters had minimal amounts of ecchi for what you'd expect a series with this premise to have.
Perhaps Yabuki isn't as focused on fanservice as the people in this thread (who probably haven't even read one of his series) making him out to be.
Literally everything that he did in his career excluding Black Cat and his first failed series has ecchi on it, and Ayakashi already has plenty of ecchi in 2 chapters, it's his thing and it's what the vast majority connects his name to.

But they're connecting it based on a franchise he wasn't the writer for.
If we look at his works he actually wrote they are clearly much lighter on fanservice.
Feels like people are perpetuating a possibly false narrative that results in people having an incorrect perception of what Yabuki can and/or likes to do.

It wasnt just To Love-ru but series like Mayoi Neko Overrun, Hatena Illusion and Darling in the Franxx, not to mention his one shots, he's the one the built most of his career in the ecchi genre, he wouldn't do that if wasn't what he likes.
I don't see people saying that it should expect Ayakashi to be just and only ecchi, i don't think it will be the case, what most are saying is about comments like "ohh unnecesary panty shot, i don't like it" in a manga that it's clearly going to rely on ecchi and you should expect it because it's a trademark of the author.

Yabuki might have done Black Cat but that finished 16 years ago, and was his first hit. The artist has spent the past decade and a half drawing a bunch of successful ecchi manga, he's not going to suddenly stop just because he's writing again. It's his thing at this point and has been for a long time.

Also honestly, do people think Ayakashi Triangle's first 2 chapters would stand out on the story's own merits without fanservice and Yabuki's name behind it? It's a completely by-the-books episodic exorcist series intro with action that's just splash pages of attacks.
Bone Collection introduced it's premise better, has a more unique twist, and gave more personality and a bigger focus on building the dynamic to its main characters in the first 2 chapters than Triangle did, and neither of the two showed any good fighting. The only thing Triangle has going for it above Bone's intro is the art, and Yabuki's strongest talent art-wise is his ecchi scenes.
Magu-chan was a little clunky (especially the exposition around the parents) and repetitive, but decent and charming overall. Curious to see what it can do in the next 5 chapters. If it can keep things fresh with the main two's interaction and handle the spoilered bit well, I'll enjoy it.
read a Yabuki manga without an ecchi you know, it's like going to read a Shun Saeki manga without an ecchi, an Oku Hiroya manga without some bizarre or a Togashi manga without a hiatus.

Kind of funny how everytime it gets updated, Yozakura and UU keep switching positions, like one time one is above the other, then another time its the opposite, and one time one gets out, and another time the other one gets out lol

Just because Yabuki's sense for ecchi got him opportunities to do art for ecchi manga doesn't mean that's his actual desire for a series he writes.
Pretty sure he's more aware than anyone that people expect some fanservice from him, which is probably why Ayakashi Triangle had some fanservice sprinkled all around the chapters here and there.
But for someone who is behind one of most well known ecchi manga of the last generation (TLR, even if it was just the art - doubt people cared about the story), the amount of ecchi in this new series is very minimal especially for the important early chapters which is pivotal to grab the readers' attention. That tells you his intention for the direction with this series.
So maybe y'all wanna stop hoping for many ecchi moments from this one. I'm assuming the most you'll get are a couple of panels a chapter at best.

Kinda thinking that this will end up like the Negima! situation where Akamatsu was forced to do a harem manga before he turned it into a full-on battle manga per his original intentions, which I’m hoping. The key will be how Yabuki handles the overarching plot.
I see that KanoKari is rising in sales, wonder if the anime will give it a Gotoubun boost. The art didn’t impress me at first, but the anime seems to have taken it up several notches.
Nice to see that The Promised Neverland got a slight boost in backlog sales after ending. I wonder if Volume 19 will be able to recover some of the readers that fell off now that the series is finished. 2021 will be an interesting year for the series with the combination of Season 2 and the live-action movie (among other projects)!
I'm Surprised that Kimetsu no Yaiba didn't break a million this week though. It's the first time that's happened in a while, right? Not that it really matters anyway since it will almost certainly reach 3 million the week Volume 21 releases.
Also, seeing Haiyku!! on there makes me really happy! I'm glad that there's rejuvenated interest in the series. I wonder if Season 4, Part 2 can push it any further.
