Actually the vast majority of these numbers comes from the comment rankings alone, CSM had over 200 in the comments, so if you guys just keep voting all in the same series in both comments and the traditional poll, this is what will happen, not my fault.
Nah. When one can gives out maximum 42 votes, the system must be fucking bonker.

Jesus, what happened with Agravity Boys?

Vol.1: #45 > #82 > #224
Vol.2: #60 > #92 > #246

Really didn't expected to be performing quite worse than vol 1, and that last chapter gave really a ending vibe...
Worse daily rankings in different time periods don't mean worse performance.

That said, agravity's still not doing well.

You guys are the ones who rank each series at your own will, i just count the votes, so if 7 of 10 users place CSM for example at 1st place knowing that will receive the max points and still also vote in the series in the other poll, CSM will look like that, this week like i said i will already reduce to 2 points in the traditional to balance things more, but even if it was like before CSM would still look insane with 243 points.

That comparison to me looks more like it's probably performing roughly the same as v1, with maybe a slight drop.

It's probably not growing at any rate, I had figured it'd maybe get a small boost due to some people recommending it outside of Jump but that didn't affect the ToC placements either so I guess it really didn't make a difference. The recent developments really could be a sign of it ending soon.

Yeah, especially with the arc that’s going on right now I would have expected My Hero to be doing the best besides Kimetsu. But, it seems like the Promised Neverland train ain’t stopping. At least MHA is staying consistent though.
MHA usually is more front-loaded than TPN and usually it swaps with TPN after a few days with its positions. Plus, I would also assume the series ending boost it will get for the next volumes...

Hopefully not. I prefer Bone Collection gets axed rather than Agravity or Mitama (and I don't even read Mitama). I hope Week 2 is better.
When you're that low in the first week, second week is never going to be better. Actually, scratch that, second week is almost never better.

Agravity is similar to Kamio Yui. Both performed badly in the ToC (with no CPs and always placed at the bottom), didn't have good sales but still managed to live on for a while because Jump had other stuff ending or performing worse. It shouldn't be much longer before Agravity out of the magazine.

No wonder what? I'm curious now.

Cause to be honest, this first Kaiju No. 8 chapter kind of felt like HeroAca's to me in which both had extremely strong starts that really had me invested almost right out the gate. Also, the MCs's motivations and situations do feel similar in some respects.
Because the FMC is one letter/syllable away from one of Horikoshi’s characters :^_^.

it's a she
She's bobobobo author wife
also former Psyren assistant, same era as Tabata, Tamura, August Outlaw author and Ole Goalazo author

to add to this, it's worth mentioning the M+ account is run by a fan, so tweet translators or Viz instead

Ah. Thanks for the info. Here’s hoping she makes it big from here on.

I meant to say better than volume 1 for second week. Right now, the ranking isn't that far from volume 1 and if it can sell slightly better than the 1st volume that would be good. I don't think Yozakura volume 2 sold that much higher than volume 1 (Correct me if I am wrong).

It still is impressive that Agravity and Mitama have survived this long. It would be pretty funny if both of them survive the next axe because something else does worse than both of them again.

Weekly Shoseki is out:

KNY is no.1 and 2 as expected, MHA 27 ranks ahead of TPN 19 even if TPN 19 outranked it for 2 days... numbers might be pretty close in Oricon... Dr Stone ahead of BC, and AA at #11... The KNY backlogs still there as usual.. Too lazy to search beyond that...

Doesn't seem like Agravity Boys is doing really bad in the end.

Black Clover doing the standard, also:

079. Black Clover: Quartet Knights #5 (10,576)

----

398. Black Clover #24 (2,561 / 222,822) - Missing 1 Week from Shoseki
376. Boruto: Naruto Next Generations #11 (3,280 / 151,767)

No surprises here. Stone over BC, but that was foreseeable considering recent trends for both series. Act age-BC are probably fairly close in numbers, and so are MHA and TPN. KNY does the usual stuff. Agravity did a tad bit better than last time, but still not good at all.

Yeah, no. Agravity won't break 10k this time either, and will stop ranking after the second week. Quite doomed, not even Yozakura's growth was this low.

Lmao at how inflate the number of votes are.
This is really out of hand.
I liked it more when first place had less or around 100 votes in total. Now we are at 300 and counting and even if the vast majority voted for CSM in first place, and rightly so because it was a chapter that took the interest of many users here, if around 30 people can give a series about 10+ votes then that is just too much.

Actually the vast majority of these numbers comes from the comment rankings alone, CSM had over 200 in the comments, so if you guys just keep voting all in the same series in both comments and the traditional poll, this is what will happen, not my fault.
Yeah, but you are the one adding value to our votes. With old systems CSM would be somewhere between 100-200 votes, still high but not 300 votes high. We are just 40-50 people voting on this poll weekly, I think our votes should reflect that amount of voters.

Nah. When one can gives out maximum 42 votes, the system must be fucking bonker.
We got that much already? Didn't we start like traditional only where we could back 3 or 5 choices then?

You guys are the ones who rank each series at your own will, i just count the votes, so if 7 of 10 users place CSM for example at 1st place knowing that will receive the max points and still also vote in the series in the other poll, CSM will look like that, this week like i said i will already reduce to 2 points in the traditional to balance things more, but even if it was like before CSM would still look insane with 243 points.
Bit less insane than 300+ votes if you ask me.
I really like the Top5 more than the Top3 we were doing way before but can we go and lower the amount of points we hand out to those Top5s? Like keep traditional at one point and then change value of the Top5 Comment to 5-4-3-2-1 then in total we got 20 votes. Half of what we can hand out currently and still a lot of votes per person, maybe even still too much but it would be closer to our real representation as voter force than what we are doing right now. Because if you compare the current 42 point system with the 20 point system we once had then each of us is voting "twice" as if we were two users. So if 15 people vote for CSM first place then it would actually be like 30 and that skews the poll to be "top heavy". I think the poll was more "even" when we had less votes as one vote out of 20 is more valuable than one out of 42 so we had rankings between 0-100 thus it felt impressive when a series got over 100 votes due that system allowing a max of 6 points as highest ranked series as it meant more than 17 people had given it that highest amount of point. Right now you need less than 10 highest ranked to breach 100 votes. That doesn't feel right. And if a series got 0 points it got 0 points because nobody wanted to give up a valuable point out of pity as like right now you could hand out 1s like candy as one vote doesn't mean much when comment votes are worth so many points at once.
So yeah, can we go and test 20 points again? Or make a poll to ask us what system we prefer after witnessing quite some changes to the voting systems we had so far? Like Traditional only (Top5-each 1 vote=5 total), Old Mixed (Top5-each 1 vote + Top5 commented 15 votes = 20 total) or New Mixed (Top 5 each 2 votes = 10 + Top5 commented 32 = 42 total). Then we would know what the majority of readers here feel comfortable as value to their choices.

For what it's worth, I do agree that the numbers with the votes is getting a little too extreme.

The problem is, the top rankers and bottom rankers are always going to stay where they are, regardless of what we try to do. The reason Shinuki is experimenting with these weighted votes, is more so to change the way the middle ranking series place. Those placements are the most variable.

I'm trying to be as hands-off with the poll as possible, and let Shinuki mostly handle it. If you guys can think of a better way to handle the poll where it doesn't constantly look the same every week, I'm sure Shinuki would be open to suggestions.

But if you look at the past couple months our polls have been quite differently. We just have a phase with many new series and few veterans left of which some will leave this year as well like Haikyu! and WNL. And CSM got pretty hype chapters lately so it gets a lot of attention and votes as people react to that development. So Top5s and Bottom5s will change once we are outta that new batch phase and we got a more established/stable list of series to vote for. Like right now Top5s and Bottom5s of the past 4 archived Issues looked like this:

Issue 26:
1. Chainsaw Man 71 - 162 Votes
2. My Hero Academia 273 - 135 Votes
3. Undead Unluck 18 - 92 Votes
4. Mashle 17 - 84 Votes
5. Time Paradox Ghostwriter 3 - 82 Votes

17. The Promised Neverland 179 - 7 Votes
18. Spy x Family Extra Short 4 - 4 Votes
19. We Never Learn 160 - 3 Votes
20. Bone Collection 5 - 2 Votes
21. Guardian of the Witch 16 - 0 Votes

Issue 25:
1. Chainsaw Man 70 - 140 Votes
2. Time Paradox Ghostwriter 2 - 119 Votes
3. My Hero Academia 272 - 105 Votes
4. Jujutsu Kaisen 107 - 61 Votes
5. Mashle 16 - 61 Votes

19. Yuragi-sou no Yuuna-san 207 - 5 Votes
20. The Promised Neverland 178 - 4 Votes
21. Bone Collection 4 - 4 Votes
22. We Never Learn 159 - 2 Votes
23. Agravity Boys 21 - 1 Vote

Issue 24:
1. Time Paradox Ghostwriter 1 (New Series) - 131 Votes
2. Undead Unluck 16 - 128 Votes
3. Kimetsu no Yaiba 205 (Final) - 102 Votes
4. Mashle 15 - 96 Votes
5. Chainsaw Man 69 - 94 Votes

18. Bone Collection 3 - 12 Votes
19. Agravity Boys 20 - 8 Votes
20. Yuragi-sou no Yuuna-san 206 - 7 Votes
21. We Never Learn 158 - 5 Votes
22. Guardian of the Witch 14 - 1 Vote

Issue 23:
1. Mashle 14 - 123 Votes
2. My Hero Academia 270 - 94 Votes
3. Kimetsu no Yaiba 204 - 80 Votes
4. Jujutsu Kaisen 105 - 75 Votes
5. Chainsaw Man 68 - 56 Votes

19. Yuragi-sou no Yuuna-san 205 - 14 Votes
20. Mission: Yozakura Family 34 - 14 Votes
21. Jigokuraku 97 - 11 Votes
22. Black Clover 249 - 8 Votes
23. Guardian of the Witch 13 - 1 Vote

So things are slightly different each time but you can have only so much change with 21 series of which a handful got a lot or more fans than other series due the longer time they have been running. Besides in regular WSJ Toc we also have some series ranked very high usually (Mashle for example) and others which are low (Agravity Boys for example). So what happens there is happening here as well just on a smaller scale due the voting poll of ours. It is pretty clear many of us like the craziness of CSM while other series are not grabbing our attention much like Bone Collection.
