The poll should include anything newly released on manga+ simply because I feel most of us use the service , thus read most of what it puts out.
I'd like for Young Jump series to eventually get added given other Shueshia magazines get representation. Although not until they're part of manga+.

I don't think Kaiju should be in the poll till it's on manga+. However since the polls typically only include manga+ series I fail to see how it's even remotely inconsistent.

It's not that hard really.
Weekly Shonen Jump manga (that appear both in Japanese and English editions) along with Jump+ manga that are officially translated.
Adding more from manga plus makes sense. But I guess that's also a lot of work

I think you're confused, friend.
Shinuki adds anything with new chapter releases from manga+ in the polls.

I figure it'd make more sense if the poll was just "do you read (series) weekly". I think it would be more interesting to see how many people are caught up with each manga rather than how many people might read it at some point.

Plus saying you plan to read something doesn't mean you'll actually read it. There's manga I've been planning to read for about 10 years.

Or series I previously planned to read but decided not to because I heard the ending was bad and such.

Part of the issue is there has to be a demand. If a series doesn't have some kind of translated English release, most here wouldn't be able to read it.

I don't know how to answer the poll because I used to read, dropped, but have no plans to ever finish.

Select no intention of reading, in that case. With the next poll, I'll add some more options, but I'm not going to restart the polls altogether.

He's included Summer Time Rendering and Heart Gear. Pretty sure Vertical World too but may be wrong on that one. Not to mention things from SQ or V that run in + like Platinum End or Boruto

There's been a fair amount of argument on this topic, so it's a touchy subject.

Mangaplus themselves don't decide on this, apparently. There's bigger companies behind the scenes that decide on this. At least, from what I was told.

About adding stuff to the weekly poll, I think adding Kaiju8 is really inconstant with the pre existing make-up rule: mangaplus and wsj titles.
I think Shinuki just caused up with the hype and put it in the poll.

About Kaiju8, I prefer the earlier part more, the down to earth aftermath cleanup (feel exactly like Viscera Cleanup Detail). Then it turns me off by having a somewhat negative outlook toward clean-up job. The twist in the end came to abrupt and out of nowhere to have an impact.

Care to list examples? Also do those series have English scangroups on mangadex, like in the case of Kaiju No.8?

Manga+ uses Viz's translations.
According to the new rules I can't share my feelings on Viz so I'll just say they're probably too busy and/due to suffering from poor management to pickup the series.
They have a long history of not picking up series when they should yet picking up and fully translating rather terrible series like Judos or Hi-Fi Cluster.
It doesn't happen for magazine Jump titles anymore luckily so we won't have another MHA or Kimetsu situation however they clearly don't have the same potential with not seeing (and not caring they can't see) the potential of certain series compared to others.

Manga I plan to read: Chainsaw Man, Jujutsu Kaisen, Act-Age, One Piece (post-timeskip)
Manga I plan to watch the anime for instead: Haikyu!, Black Clover, One Piece (pre-timeskip), HxH

I voted no to actively reading for Haikyu! and Chainsaw Man, by the way. I think we should just go back to "Do you actively read X?" because otherwise that'll just complicate things. I feel like the results are moot now, since there's going to be a whole lot more people who plan to read We never Learn than actually reading We never Learn.
