Moderator Notice:
Henceforth, I will be deleting posts that complain about Weekly Shonen Jump having too many/not enough gag/battle/exorcism/sports/etc series.

These posts are not insightful, and do not meaningfully contribute to this thread. Also, this decision is not up for discussion, so posts discussing this decision will also be deleted.~ Halloween

The traditional poll returned to 1 point while the comment poll still "9, 8, 7, 5 and 3", the results look much more balanced and organic now, going to keep like this from now, that's the nature of experiments.

Damn, has a series ever begun in the Bottom 5? Kinda feel bad for Me and Roboco, even if I utterly didn't care for it. Glad Kaiju No. 8 started off so well! Hopefully it can maintain it!

A lot of the bottom 5 are series that aren't really talked about here, but Bone Collection still somehow found a way to bottom out. Jesus, this series is toast. Especially if Ayakashi continues to find it's groove and really get going.

I couldn't disagree anymore with number 1, there was litrally nothing there to it above series with actually emotionally connecting plots. intelligent and smart storytelling, and competent artwork. TPGW, Haikyuu!, and Dr. Stone were robbed, fame for Owari no Serafu

Idk about you guys but I changed my habit of reading WSJ and now I'm beginning by the most hard manga like Chainsaw Man and Jujutsu and ending with the comedies as those are all light. lol
I just read from last to front. Cant imagine ranking the series on hardiness scale, whatever that means.

Yes, it's the first time, Agravity Boys was the series with the worst start but still not in the bottom.

About Bone Collection, it was more a matter of not getting any votes in the comment part, everything after Agravity Boys got only 1 to 3 votes but BC was the only who didn't got a single comment vote, so its how it got in last.

Jujutsu Kaisen is the one that sometimes loses me sometimes. It's better than it was earlier on where I sometimes felt like I had skipped a chapter, but it still feels like it jumps between things in an odd way when there's lots going on, and likes to link back to minor forgotten stuff. It's a real shame that it barely gets any discussion since it's the kind of series I think would benefit greatly from having the really devoted type of fans, the ones who read chapters multiple times and post about all the links and such they've noticed (like Bleach used to have).
Glad I'm not the only one who gets lost with Jujutsu Kaisen. It's definitely got similarities to the early art style of Bleach, but Kubo always made Bleach very easy to read. It's almost like with JJK there's a time lag between panels. It can feel like it's jumping too fast between one action to another sometimes that I have to re-read to process it, and even then it's not that clear. And there are also quite a few cliffhangers that feel like they hit the last page from nowhere. Fingers crossed the anime manages to iron out its messier parts.

Yeah, Chainsaw man is actually one of the easiest manga to follow for me. Its very direct about a lot of the things it shows. It's just those things are always unexpected developments, story wise - which is fantastic. Its a series that you need 4-5 chapters to get into and to get used to it's vibe because it doesn't follow the conventional patterns you'd think it would. But after that, it's very easy to follow.

I've said this before. Jujutsu's art is great and the rough style is what Gege is going for but there are times where both the art and the story just feels like they've skipped an important page or two. I often end up rereading panels or even a chapter just to make sure I wasn't being stupid and missed something.
The art in some action bits definitely needed more completion.
It's definitely a lot harder to follow than CSM.

Thought I was the only one who felt this was about JJK. I really enjoy the series. But I especially find some of the fights hard to follow

I have my own ranking of the series I enjoy the most to the ones I enjoy the least. I always start from the bottom because it pushes me to read them until I get to the ones I enjoy the most lol.

Personally, I think the series has some good ideas and a good set up for world-building. I'd really like if it explored its concepts further. However, it's poorly executed and the art doesn't help, it feels like someone who has little experience in drawing.

I read by following the TOC order every week, just skipping We Never Learn as it's the only series I don't read. Usually it's a good experience, as at the start there are some stabilished series I like and at middle to end are the newbies. Both types get my attention for different reasons.

I only read the series I like and start with the ones I look forward to the most. Easy.

I read in ToC order unless there's a chapter I'm so eager to read (like, a huge cliffhanger in One Piece or CSM or something) or something I am really putting off (... not gonna put examples here). It works more or less well, usually the series I enjoy and the series I don't are well-spaced enough..

Yeah, the latest fight with Itadori in the washroom was a visual mess in some of the panels. I think the fight itself was really well done. Some panels just needed a lot more separation between objects, the water and the characters.
The thing is, I think all these panels would look phenomenal in color. The lines and rough style Gege uses would stand out immensely in color. But when it's just black and white, it starts getting messy.

I read the chapters I'm most excited about first. Those can be the ones I'm most hyped about or the final chapter of a series, even if the series wasn't among my favourites. Once I've read those, I usually read the rest in ToC order.

I'm glad we're down from 42 to 37 votes but I still don't understand why our Top5 comment ranking has to start at 3 and why there are 2 point jumps from 5th to 4th to 3rd but 3rd to 2nd and 2nd to 1st is only 1 point jump. Feels rather random and makes first place votes too high as series with many comment votes but in the lower rankings would have a hard time to catch up to a series which only got a handful of first placements. At least we no longer have 300+ votes when having only around 35-50 voters max.
Btw, we can control the comment vote but not the Poll vote, right? Isn't that rather bad as we have 13 more Poll voters than Comment Voters? Like someone might have used several accounts to add extra points to their favorite series for all we know. Wouldn't it be better to just control the votes with the comments, even on the risk of lowering our high voted Top5 results, as you can check there if someone has been active for three months&wrote 30 posts whereas with the poll that is not quite as possible?

As for the rankings, CSM too high, man! XD
UU is well liked as always here, yay, hope it gets more steam in Japan, the many fanarts which keep going each chapter does speak for some deep interest at least.
Kaiju No.8 is high, think it is going to be a constant Top5 contender.
M&R very disappointing first ranking here, but that is just here, maybe the WSJ readers like it much more than we do. And BoneC is just sad.

Damn, has a series ever begun in the Bottom 5? Kinda feel bad for Me and Roboco, even if I utterly didn't care for it. Glad Kaiju No. 8 started off so well! Hopefully it can maintain it!

Let's wait for the first WSj ranking but yeah, it ain't looking hot for M&R here, but I think it just is not the taste of many here, art and comedy-style. I wonder if BoneC or even another new series (glances at another series with many many timeskips) might get the axe before Mitama and AB as that could be the only way the two survive for a bit longer, by having another new series do so incredible badly that having it run longer than 20 chapters would be insane.

That's why I can see who votes, and verify who meets the criteria (at least 30 posts, with one month old account.)

You did that 47 times? Respect. Hope some of the Poll voters will become more constant commentators in the future then if their poll votes kept getting ignored in the final tally.
