Moderator Notice:
Henceforth, I will be deleting posts that complain about Weekly Shonen Jump having too many/not enough gag/battle/exorcism/sports/etc series.

These posts are not insightful, and do not meaningfully contribute to this thread. Also, this decision is not up for discussion, so posts discussing this decision will also be deleted.~ Halloween

Was it? I remember people calling it a slideshow anime. I could be wrong.

Question, which is the greatest slideshow anime adaptation from WSJ? Basically a low budget anime adaptation that was actually solid.
Saint Seiya hades ova comes to mind ( inferno and Elysium). Character barely move through the duration of it. Characters are well-drawn and backgrounds are nice but when it comes to moving it is very lacking in that department. Dr Stone at least isn't all that action-heavy, but the bulk of Saint Seiya consist of fights and I personally think that the ova adaptation suffered from that.

I am new to the tread

Guess someone gets the last laugh regarding the official english title of Kaiju no. 8...

I doubt viz chose it from [jpn] popularity, must have just been a timing issue.

So wait, not only are we getting the original Kaiju No. 8 title, but we’re also gonna catch up with the Japanese release. Just like that. This week.

I know Raf already explained how this worked and all, but man. This is probably a massive coincidence, but it really doesn’t seem like one. All this bickering over the title looks really funny now. XD

Goddamn, though. I’m glad this all happened to begin with.

Oh, this also clears up all the complications that come from putting it on the weekly poll as well!

Next issue should have the rest of the August volume cover reveals right? Really looking forward to that.

Shoseki predicts HeroAca and Neverland easily crossing 500k in a week, nice. Good improvement from last volume. We'll see if this either holds in the future or if volumes begin to decline again.

Got around to reading that "The Right Way to Make Jump!" Some bits I thought were worth posting.

A Mr. Katsumata had designed series logos for half of Jump's series (+ one-shots) for 40+ years (e.g., Kochikame, Kinnikuman, Dr. Slump, Captain Tsubasa, Ring ni Kakero, Susume Pirates, Fist of the North Star, JJBA, One Piece, Naruto, Toriko, Kuroko's Basketball, The Disastrous Life of Saiki K., Haikyu!!, Assassination Classroom, and Shokugeki no Soma).

I asked a friend to sent me some pics from the issue 12 or 13 I think? You can see they have a grayish tone, not even pure black. In some pages they use pink ink for advertisements and that kind of stuff, also yellow or blue for some stuff.

And I remembered this even after a couple months.

I wonder why the weekly Shonens(Jump, Magazine, Sunday and Champion) use perfect bound spines while the weekly Youngs (Jump,Magazine and Champion) use saddle spines.

Weird that no one posted this. Shueshia Magazine 2020 report. And here's WSJ.

This is old stuff actually, just that we got a scan. You can see Kimetsu no Yaiba, Haikyuu!! and The Promised Neverland are listed. Though, I'd like to point out that Jujutsu Kaisen is listed under their main currently serialized mangas along the other big series. Jujutsu Kaisen should be at the forefront with One Piece and My Hero Academia now.

that thing have been out for over 2 months already, and it was available online right from the start

the only new info was the average annual circulation and some stats for J+, and for both of that is kinda already late by the time it was out because j-mag already released Q1, and Jump already updated a separate media guide

they can be found here

btw, that website just added a new section, manga section they already have a comics section just the add another page for a more streamlined content.

also, 2019s

I’m confused. Didn’t the latest volumes of Neverland & MHA sell like 450k? Why is it saying they sold 100k here?

This accounts for all the volumes sold from their respective series, it's not the individual volume sales chart.

That’s even more confusing. If it accounts for all volumes sold within this year for each series, then the numbers should be way higher than that.

These are the sales per series from last week, not the monthly volume sales. The 100k sales from last week include all volumes from the whole series, not just the volume released this month. This means all MHA volumes combined including the latest one sold 100k total within the last week.

It's not this year, it's last week only lol. There's a timespan on the spoiler.
