The problem is not that people are going, but how many. With the pandemic, if cinemas open, they tend to do so limiting their public and even if the Japanese market tends to be leggy, it's usually reserved for really big movies like Weathering with You, which is still running lol. But there's also the fact that Japan had a surge of cases in the past month.

No, it's not that weird. It's not even the first series to get that treatment this year. If the series is doing terribly in the surveys, chances it actually ends up selling well are extremely low.
