I imagine they have an anime being worked on for quite some time.

What a disaster
Yeah I was just thinking about that. This dude really is human trash, he really did inconvenience a ton of people. Not only did he traumatize children but he also inconvience a lot of hard working people who work hard on a project with very little pay to begin with only for them to have to cancel the production. People like him never think nor care about the consequences of there actions and how it can negatively affect different people.

Also with Yonagi probably being gone, there's gonna be no female leads in jump

Well there's Ayakashi Triangle (kind of?). There are also a few duos like Fuuko from Undead Unluck, Ruru from Magu-chan, and Roboco from the new pillar series. But of all of them, Yonagi was my favorite to watch grow as a person and actor over the years. She was a great protagonist

Btw I said that they unfollowed each other, it came from a tweet linked above my response, but it seems like the author of it (the tweet) hasn't really good sources, so all of this should stay as rumors..
Usuzaki's Japanese Wikipedia page says they did in fact unfollow each other.

I just found an interview with Usazaki, Matsuki and their editor from early 2019.

Here's the first part.
Here's the second part.

From what I could grasp with google translate, they got along pretty well when the interview was made and Usazaki mentioned that they were following each other on twitter (though idk whether she was talking about the past or just that they started following each other at some point, I'm guessing the latter by context).

From what I could grasp, it also seems like Usazaki didn't originally intend to become a mangaka and only made a single one shot by herself. So she is most likely lacking the writing skills to be able to continue Act-Age by herself.

Though I've probably missed a lot of interesting stuff because I can't read Japanese. If there's more interesting stuff there though, it would be great if someone who can read Japanese can write a short summary.

Holy shit this news. I opened this thread thinking there must've been an anime announcement or something since there was 10+ pages. This is frustrating.

RIP Act Age & possibly it's anime. It's possible that Takeshi may had an anime planned but got scrapped because of the scandal. Both Takeshi & Act Age are popular titles too.
But Shimabukuro didn't continue. He was serializing Takeshi in 2002 when he got arrested and the series got cancelled. He only came back to Jump 6 years later with Toriko.
He did other things in between Takeshi's cancellation and Toriko's serialization like RING (3 volumes from 2004-05) & finishing Takeshi (10 chapters). Both were in Super Jump so he did continue but only later.

How Takeshi ended? Was it given closure or just end on certain chapter?
It abruptly ended in WSJ but it got a proper conclusion in Super Jump (it was serialized for 10 chapters in the magazine). From what I heard, Takeshi was close to ending at that time of the scandal so concluding it in 10 chapters wasn't difficult.

I'm not caught up with Act Age but I would imagine it's no where to ending and also considering the fact that it's created by a duo makes the situation even more complicated.

From what I'm getting from this and the japanese Wikipedia page I looked up earlier (also via Google Translate), I think the story goes that they both were originally mutuals in twitter, before they even started working together because they liked each other's work or something like that (not sure about the specifics).

Apparently they don't follow each other anymore, so something may have happened between them.

Thanks. I wasn't aware that mangaplus had interviews. Is there an interview section somewhere on the website that I've missed the whole time?

Edit: Now that I take a closer look, this seems to be a different interview just with their editor.

I mean, World Trigger was on hiatus for a long time as well. Not that I think Act-Age is going to be put on hiatus. I think cancellation is the most likely outcome. But I just wanted to point out that HxH is no exception and that they will put other established manga on hiatus as well if there's no other choice.
In world trigger case was cuz it was properly handled while making it aware for everyone. This accident cant be recovered easy, it's a disaster

Obviously they had no clue, but Miyazaki's (Roboco) author comment this week had some terrible timing.

The other pedo aka Shimabu is also trending in Japan
Shimabu was tending during Watsuki's digusting mess and now Matsuki's. It's sad to see him dragged into it, especially now that he's married and probably has kids. He's not a pedo.

Shima sentence was jail. Light is Watsuki situation
He didn't spend jail time.

This just showed up in the local news.
Whoa I didn't know that they also got this on video too...Is that really him in that picture? This first time I seen how he looks since authors usually try sometimes hiding their real identity for some of them.

Since (Literally) everyone are wearing masks, it's kinda easier for them to sneak into without being noticed. Well, that's why I think.

I see, but does caption said that is him or said his name? No doubt this bring more shame around if he caught on video doing this.

It's probably mostly to review bomb it. I think on Amazon you can buy something, review it, then refund the purchase before it ships out (meaning you cna give a bad review without losing money buying the thing).
