It found great success and became the longest-running rom-com in Jump history?
Bruh we have been here before. Yes. it did but on the price of quality. In my option. I dropped it after love interest started pop up like mushrooms after rain

You know what else had pretty good nice oneshort? Nisekoi. See how it went.
I sincerely hope it doesn’t come down to that. Then again, this is Jump. Somehow they find a way to screw our expectations and in turn push out a story of lesser quality.

@Ice King you mean why they changed the date? The simple answer would be probably because of Covid that sadly has skyrocketed again in Japan, that may delay some titles as it did in the past, I wouldn't be surprised to see maybe Kimetu's volumes getting at least a bit delayed too, seeing how both OP and KnY are the titles that probably require most volumes printed. Of course this is just my assumption.
Back on May they delayed all volumes, from a Kimetsu no Yaiba to a Guardian of the Witch volumes. Delaying a single volume would be pretty out of place.

Ok guys. Only two months left for Jujutsu Kaisen anime.

Right now the manga is selling more than established series like Dr.Stone or Black Clover without anime help. With anime it has the potential to reach My Hero Academia sales levels.

Do you think Jujutsu Kaisen will be able to become the next big title of Shonen Jump and fill some of the emptiness Jump is having now in the top tier right now?
Definitely, or at least I hope so. If it manages to sell at least 400,000 first month, that's good enough. One Piece and My Hero Academia are on tiers of their own right now so there should be something else up there and, as of now, only Jujutsu Kaisen has the possibility to do so with it's upcoming anime and Chainsaw Man in a not so distant future. The other established series have peaked already and the newbies are still fresh.

I mean...if they went out of their way to manually remove One Piece 97 from the september list, then something is probably up, but I don't really get why they'd delay that volume considering they already have it filled entirely (I believe we are 2 chapters into volume 98 as of now?). If this is confirmed, then I guess the next date for the volume would be november? Unless they choose to release an OP and KnY volume together, which seems a bit overkill. Although they could also just release the volume later during the same month (like 95). Still though, I don't really get why they moved the volume in the first place, since like I said - it has been filled already.

This is actually a pretty big deal since if OP can't get volume 98 out before the end of the year cutoff it's not going to beat Kingdom.

Ao no Hako was really sweet and nice. Don't know how it could be a series though, it's one of those oneshots that really feel like they should stay as one shots, unless the author decides to write a story about the development of their relationship and all

We're 3 chapters into volume 98 already if we count this week's chapter (if volume 97 comes out with 10 chapters, if not then it's 2). If they release both Kimetsu no Yaiba 22 and One Piece 97 in the same month it will be a sight to behold. Plus, they wouldn't be able to put out One Piece 98 before the Oricon year deadline anyway, it's in the middle of November and I highly doubt Oda would have everything ready by October with his constant breaks and recurring double issues this year. It'll probably be released in December or January.

Do you think other September volumes will get pushed back as well?

Yeah, OP 98 by november was already extremely hard (as it would basically require no breaks at all), but if volume 97 is truly delayed, it basically guarantees it's not gonna happen.

This year's oricon is going to be...atypical, to say the least. OP falling down to #3, and there's a chance AoT won't even make it at all. Holy moly.

Let's do the math. There are ten more issues before November. If both 97 and 98. If both Volumes are 10 chapters, One Piece would need to publish 7 chapters in those 10 issues. It'll likely have a couple breaks, so it's not gonna be complete until mid-October at the earliest. I believe that's probably doable (and it's OP so they might be willing to put in enough resources to make it happen), but hard, and I don't know if they'd push for it. Two months windows for OP Volumes is very rare to begin with. It's usually three or four.

It's hard to say right now, but I think it's unlikely. This might still be an error on their side, but it's weirder when even One Piece Magazine is not listed anymore. We'll have to wait for leaks or an official statement.

I still think that One Piece will be #2 since it usually sells 1,500,000 at least and both series are pretty close in numbers but if Kingdom's backlog keeps selling well week after week until the end of the year then yeah goodbye #2.

It's not gonna happen because they need time to print the volumes. They won't make it within that timefimre to release a volume in November.

This one shot was really cool. I like the mix between romance and sports and the dynamic of seeing the main characters pushing for different sports was refreshing to see as well 👏

also has love and sports ever worked well beyond one shots and short series?
Unless you want to count romance series where a character happens to play a sport (Blue Flag, Your Lie in April) or the reverse (can't actually think of any examples right now but I know I've read some) the closest I can think of is Chihayafuru which is ongoing and started in December 2007 (has 44 volumes and 70+ episodes of anime). That's in a Josei magazine though so it's not really comparable.

People are definitely gonna spread hate about jjk because its too hard for them to understand 🤣
The series itself isn't hard to understand if we're talking about its story or battle mechanics.
There isn't anything that dense or complex that would make it inaccessible to the average Jump reader.
What inhibits understanding however is the mediocre pacing, and often poorly executed yet ambitious panel work. It really brings down an otherwise really interesting series.

I think the anime will actually really help Jujutsu Kaisen. I won't be surprised if the pacing will feel better there, and the fights will hopefully be well animated. I expect Jujutsu Kaisen to become a hit once the anime comes out.
