Moderator Notice: Henceforth, I will be deleting posts that complain about Weekly Shonen Jump having too many/not enough gag/battle/exorcism/sports/etc series.
These posts are not insightful, and do not meaningfully contribute to this thread. Also, this decision is not up for discussion, so posts discussing this decision will also be deleted.~ Halloween

Based on some major events that happened in the story and Fujimoto last series being relatively short, many people believe that Chainsaw man is close to its ending. Obviously since jump hasn't announced anything about a final arc and no one is inside the writer's head, it is just a prediction. Take it as you will
Unless you want to count romance series where a character happens to play a sport (Blue Flag, Your Lie in April) or the reverse (can't actually think of any examples right now but I know I've read some) the closest I can think of is Chihayafuru which is ongoing and started in December 2007 (has 44 volumes and 70+ episodes of anime). That's in a Josei magazine though so it's not really comparable.
Super glad to see this.
She doesn't deserve to be held back because her collaborator was a piece of shit.
What type of series would you guys like to see her draw?
I think a detective manga which includes a lot mental health elements in it with a shounen spin on it will work quite well with her impressive talent.
I think her art would work well with a fantasy setting. Something like Sousou no Frieren in Sunday would be really cool to see her work on. I could also see her art working on some sports series so maybe she can give Jump a new one
Ki-oon (Act-Age's french publisher) is talking now with Shueisha about contract-related stuff of Act-Age. They will comunicate the future of Act-Age in France as soon as posible. I think all countries that licensed Act-Age are doing the same.
I am 50-50 on "CSM ending soon"
Just looking back at Fire Punch, how the plotline swings unpredictably and ends in the strangest way possible. Tbf, Fire Punch is an outlier, with the way Fujimoto set out to make each volume have a different tone.

Honestly she could do anything, we'd be spoiled for choice.
In the beginning the art was a little simpler with moment of passion that burst from the page, but now you could expect that to happen chapter after chapter. She's improved so much. I think she's shown she'd be well suited to a modern day slice of life or perhaps a dramatic romance. Her character designs definitely lend to that.
With Yonagi she got to show her balance the line of psychological damage that acting had on her, so I could definitely see her doing something psychological/horror to great effect. She'd draw an excellent murderous yandere.
But my absolute favourite choice for her would be a full on action/battle shonen. Act-Age was practically a battle shonen already. I'd love to see her do a historical/fantasy series with great fight choreography.
I think it might come down to what kind of manga she wants to draw. That’s what I think Jump is offering her right now. They might be looking for a writer that fits with Shiro’s interests.

I know romance / slice of life would go really well with her art but honestly, that's just such an easy choice.
Psychological series would definitely show off her incredible range as an artist.
Battle manga would definitely be her weakest.
Psychological battle manga perhaps? Now we're talking.
That said, I just hope she comes back sooner than later with anything, tbh.
I wonder if we'll see a bunch of different Usazaki oneshots in the next year or so. All the Act-age story arcs tackle some kind of different genre so we've seen potential for her art to work well for just about anything, it's a matter of what gets received best.
A horror or psychological thing could certainly be fun.
It is already axed. At best we might get some sort of final chapter later down the line but I don't think we will. Ch.123 will be the last AA chapter ever.
Shiro already discussed with editorial and decided that it’s no longer possible to continue with the series.
And imo the fact that she deleted any trace of the series from Bio may mean that she’s disassociating herself from the series for the foreseeable future and probably never turning back.
I’d say any possibility of it continuing in any capacity is dead. Even if Matsuki serves his time and comes back to the industry, I can’t imagine that he’s going to write under the same name. He’ll probably Creator an alias and try his best to never be exposedas being the Act-Age writer

you really think the industry is harboring such indecent people behind pennames? *shiveru* I hope not. Not a good look for Shueisha etc.
I dont even know if the writer can be reformed, seemed so quick to admit it was him that it had to be something he regularly did and would continue to do. Would be too risky to work woth him whrn thrres thousands of struggling mangaka out there.
