Moderator Notice:
Henceforth, I will be deleting posts that complain about Weekly Shonen Jump having too many/not enough gag/battle/exorcism/sports/etc series.

These posts are not insightful, and do not meaningfully contribute to this thread. Also, this decision is not up for discussion, so posts discussing this decision will also be deleted.~ Halloween

Well, fans are hoping they will also adapt the novels which adds tons more to the lore and final arc. So, we will see how the studio does it. If it's going to be long running (most likely) and if it's Pierrot, I can see them trying to capitalize on that. Hardcore Bleach fans would definitely watch those novel bits being animated.
The novels can only apply bandages to a shotgun blast that is the final arc of Bleach.

Hi! I have a weird question.
I really like it when the artist makes the *cover* for each chapter. Why are there so few such artists? For example, Undead Unluck and Eden's Zero

you mean the first page illustration right? they're called doors

it depends on the artists, some put them in some don't

there's no real reason for it

You mean, having a dedicated cover page for each chapter that is not part of the story? There is a lot of mangaka who do that. Oda is famous for these.

Looking through the last Jump issue, these manga had a dedicated cover page:

- One Piece
- Dr. Stone
- MHA
- HBC&D
- JJK
- Agravity Boys

And those are just the manga who did it in the previous issue. Some other manga series in the mag also do cover pages, but not always (as well as some manga on this list also doing without a cover page from time to time). It's not a few artists. It is incredibly common.

Eden's Zero is not a Jump series. It runs in Weekly Shonen Magazine. Same as Fairy Tail and Groove Adventure Rave prior.

Really just depends on the artist.
Some mangaka use such pages to show off their skills and draw characters in real funky ways.
Some others use it as a way to portray that particular character's skill or ability.
Some use it in a way to portray a character in a setting that's vastly different to what's happening in the actual story.

It's also a way for them to fill up the page count if their chapter is shorter than required.

Okay, NOW MangaPlus is caught up to JP and Viz’s releases of Kaiju #8.
What a nice surprise, I thought they would continue to publish the English version a few days after the Spanish one.

Really liked this chapter, too. I would be boring if they kept it a secret for too long.

Kinda predicted that though, but is it boring? Nah.

It would've gotten boring if they went the Conan route, so I'm glad that didn't happen.

Now we just need more stuff on Friday and Saturday. I wonder if they are planning to translate the Spanish series there as well.

When was the last time we had a new series actually show up on Oricon top 50?

Haikyuu!! 44 sold 4,000 copies more when compared to the previous volume, which had a day less. We'll have to wait to see how it fares in its second week, but this is still nice. Jujutsu Kaisen 12 sold over 11,000 copies when compared to the previous volume, which had 2 days less. There's a chance its first week was more front loaded this time so once again we have to wait for its second week of sales. Chainsaw Man sold 30,000 copies more when compared to the previous volume, which had 4 days. This is a pretty sizeable growth since volume 7 sold 132,988 copies by its second week and volume 8 will easily surpass this figure.

We Never Learn keeps decreasing in sales, with volume 18 selling almost 1,400 copies less than volume 17, which had 2 days less. Kimetsu no Yaiba's backlog keeps doing its shenanigans, The Promised Neverland 19 manages to stay within the top 50 for a 6th week and Spy x Family 2 keeps getting closer to the 1 million landmark. And last but not least, Mashle 2 made it to the chart, the first newbie to appear on the top 50 list after Chainsaw Man 1 back in March, 2019.

Also, Mashle Vol 2 charts. Incredible stuff from two of my current favorites in WSJ.

Not too bad from JK either.
And SxF is just a monster.
