New volumes of Mairimashita! Iruma-kun & spin-off
Damn, you mean to tell me I was one volume off? I honestly thought that color page was gonna be the Volume 17 cover. Though, I guess the character in question does just become relevant by surprise, so maybe that’s why.

I’m really interested in seeing how Makai Volume 2 fares considering Volume 1 hasn’t left the Shoseki Top 500.

The Mute Girl and Her New Friend seems to have received something Tsugi ni Kuru 2020 award related as well (I assume it is that U-Next honorable mention award by the judges, which went last year to Ride On King). It is vague, but he also mentions the 20th place.

NOTES
-TOP 2: Possibly making it to Oricon a second time, huh? I was hoping for it but wasnt expecting it. Things look to be quite stable for those two pillars. This is the first time Beastars has ranked twice on Oricon in a while - likely due to it's previous volumes having 5 day FWs.
-MIDDLE TWO: Yowamushi 68.5 is doing fine. Seems to be outselling a good chunk of the magazine, actually, when comparing sales data. Rokudou is recovering from the drop due to the lockdown, but it's still significantly down overit's volume released at the beginning of the year. I hope it can continue to recover, or even get a boost sometime soon!
-BOTTOM TWO: So my suspictions were correct, then. Atsumare's on a downward spiral. Okay, it's not that bad, considering the previous day did 5.7k in 3 days, then ranked for a second week, but not ranking for a second week here kind of adds fuel. Now all I need to do is not be lazy and track Shoseki sales of all of it's previous volumes. Kuzuhana-chan also left, as expected. The biggest question for it at the moment is stability. I hope Volume 2 does well...
-BACK TWO: Yes, Makai's still selling. It hasnt left Shoseki's Top 500 for, uh, 10 weeks now? And BEASTARS also seems to be bouncing back nicely from it's lockdown volume.

New Short Series - Shissou Shoujo by Yanebashi Naoki.

End - Shousetsuhon Darwin's Game - Flag Game

It says first short series so there might be at least another. I see it as a return to a good idea that the previous head editor used and which found many successes (beastars, mitsudomoe, squid girl, furutto) I remember the one-shot this short series should be based on and it was not too bad.

Baku-kun definitely seems like it's on it's way out with disastrous sales and poor TOC placements. I wonder if Ippon Again could join it, thought it will have a decent run regardless.

same. Not sure what Champion needs for a series to be able to stick around but I quite like it and hope it can stick around.

Man BokuYaba's really doing well for itself, maybe I should give it another shot.

Also predicting it'll get a English license around when would've been AnimeNYC.

You should! Honestly a very down to earth and refreshing romantic comedy - from the mangaka behind Mitsudomoe, of all things. I'll post a comment I made about it on MD (context - the series surpassed the 9.00 rating on MangaDex, one of an elite few to do so):

"The first couple of chapters may put some people off and cause some people to think that it's overrated. The truth of the matter is that about a year ago at this point in time, this manga was rated somewhere in the mid-7 range. It had to climb the ladder to earn this 9. And the reason?

The manga seriously improves the more you read it. Ichikawa, at heart, is really just an edgy middle schooler who doesn't exactly doesn't have the best people skills, and his interactions with Yamada really help him grow, both as a character and as a person. There's serious improvement that can really be felt as the manga progresses, and he honestly becomes rather likable and relatable, IMO. Yamada herself is just a fun character overall, with her growing feelings for Ichikawa serving as a really strong example of "show, don't tell". The two fall for each other gradually and naturally, through the interactions they have with each other, to the point where you may not even realize when they've fallen in love with each other. But the seeds are definitely there, if you pay enough attention!

So, if you're new here, or if you read the first few chapters and were put off, I implore you to give this series a try, at least till the end of the first volume! There's a damn good reason this manga's so highly rated and popular on both sides of the pond!"

I would really give it another shot. I usually don't recommend Manga because everybody has different taste but the way how this Manga develops the romance between the two main characters is so subtle and realistic. I had so many callback to my middle school days because of how much detail there is in their interaction.

Not surprising thanks to those awful (or rather, nonexistent) sales, but Sachio-kun will end in the upcoming issue of Champion. It seems the author will release something for it on LINE until September 18.

Wait, so it didn’t sell? I HONESTLY thought it was digital only, so it would be fine. Man, this changes a lot of things concerning my ranking.
