Henceforth, I will be deleting posts that complain about Weekly Shonen Jump having too many/not enough gag/battle/exorcism/sports/etc series.

These posts are not insightful, and do not meaningfully contribute to this thread. Also, this decision is not up for discussion, so posts discussing this decision will also be deleted.~ Halloween

I’ll be honest. Ever since Samurai 8 left, I haven’t cared about anything in the magazine. I’ve been less keen on One Piece since Punk Hazard, and the Wano arc is kind of testing my patience, so with that, I have literally nothing I like in Jump right now. Though, Chainsaw Man looks kinda cool. What’re opinions on it? I usually don’t let other people decide what I get into or not, but I’m in a desperate situation right now.
S8 to Chenso..that's a 180 degree turn lol. But you might prefer UxU or Mashle instead. Both are good and enjoyable read.

I can’t blame you for your feelings on One Piece.

The whole Dressrosa and Yonkou sagas been too flawed to be considered enjoyable. Wano currently is a test of so much patience.

Are there any series that you already tried and didn’t like?

If you want a battle/action/adventure series like Samurai 8 the magazine has

My Hero Academia
Jujutsu Kaisen
Undead X Unluck
Black Clover
Mashle(kinda a comedy too though)
Yozakura Family
Kaiju 8 (Jump+)

If you want another space series theres
Astra Lost In Space
Barrage(from the creator of My Hero Academia)
Both have ended, and are short reads though

and there’s Eden’s Zero from Shonen Magazine, created by Hiro Mashima(Fairy’s Tail)

You could also give Dr.Stone a try, which is another fun series.

Chainsaw Man is a great series and is definitely worth a read if you’re already thinking of it though

If we're bringing up Jump+ series then I also gotta recommend Ghost Reaper Girl. One of the main characters is an openly proud pedophile which is super problematic. Despite that it's an awesome action manga with great character designs, smooth yet dynamic panel work, and a world that mangaka clearly put a lot of thought into building.
I find it far more interesting and competent than Kaiju#8.

CSM is "enjoyable" and probably one of the most unpredictable reads in WSJ since like Toriko personally. I would also recommend Jigokuraku (Jump+).

Dont know if anyone noticed, but there's a funny "coincidence" in the issue #39, it will be the first ranking for Cop and Dolphin, series by Tamura Ryuhei that started with Beelzebub, the last winner series of the Golden Future Cup that became a hit, and in the same issue Hono Mieru Shounen that is the last winner before the competition got "canceled", is starting. Would be cool (and ironic) if the last GFC winner end up being a success :^_^

I felt like we have had a very big chain of 4th place debuts this year. So far:
-Mashle
-Moriking
-Bone Collection
-Ayakashi Triangle
-Magu
-Now Cop and Dolphin

PS: Time Paradox Ghostwriter ends in this issue. Author is thanking the readers on comments.

I'm starting to think that the first ranking doesn't really mean so much. I'm happy for my (strangely) favourite manga, anyway. The other newbies also seem to perform well.

In other news, this should be the ranking of the TPGW chapter with the big plot twist. Didn't work so much, apparently. And unfortunately Moriking position begins to reflect more its sales.

AT debuted in 3rd place.
And so did Moriking.

Nice, an early TOC!
  • Can't wait to read Honomiaru Shonen/The Faintly Visible Boy.
  • Another good first ranking for Hard-Boiled Cop and Dolphin - all from this batch so far have landed in the top 5but let's see if it can keep up for another 5+ weeks.
  • Ayakashi Triangle seems to be pretty consistent so far, still placing my bets on this sticking around.
  • 14 chapters for Time Paradox Ghostwriter is harsh but those first 6 chapters were a hard sell so I'm not shocked. Chapter 7 was still pretty iconic and it'll definitely be an early cancelled series that will stick in my memory, though seeing it play out as it is now I can't imagine how it possibly could have been a long running series?
  • It looks pretty likely that the next round of endings will be Burn the Witch, Agravity Boys, and Moriking. The latter two might not be for another 8+ weeks though depending on when the new round will start. Though by then the serialisations before will all be in their double digits so if there's any duds there they could help Agravity Boys or Moriking survive another day. I'm still rooting for AB to survive the full year.

So many of the new series have ranked around the same spot at chapter 8 and it does seem they leave that spot for them and then they drop the following chapter and they actually start ranking, go either further down or fluctuating. It seems much more reliable to look at the rankings at chapter 10 and beyond now, rather than at chapter 8. Dr. Stone and My Hero Academia have really cemented themselves as the top contenders of the magazine along with the immovable rock that is One Piece, the difference between these 3 series' averages is huge.

Agravity Boys is back at the absolute bottom once again. Honestly, it's just waiting to be axed and it only keeps going because other stuff has done worse, it's a similar case to Mitama Security, but even this one got a few CPs while Agravity Boys has spent most of its run in the bottom 5 and without any glimpse of CPs. Black Clover doesn't seem to let go of that spot, it has been there 4 times in the past 8 issues, it has become some kind of gatekeeper of the bottom part of the ToC.
