What the heck?! I know that the main plot/problem can be resolved in that amount of time, but with only 3 chapters left, I'm a bit anxious now to see how the author will go about tying up all the other loose ends with the other characters.

Oh shit, so it is ending in three chapters. One of the pillars of the magazine going out like that, though not quite on top. I should probably get into the series now, then.

BEASTARS really was something special, it seems. It’s whole awards run in 2018 proved that, being the first Akita Shoten title to bring home the Manga Taisho award, and it even managed to score some modicums of worldwide popularity, thanks to its anime. I look forward to whatever Paru Itagaki works on next.

This combined with some short series in the magazine means that I can see everything except Baku-kun survive the year. There seems to be a new serialization round beginning with Issue 43, and there’s 2 open spots, I think.

How did they fit 47 chapters into 12 episodes and still make the pacing phenomenal. I tried reading the manga but the art was very unappealing; does it get better because if not I’ll just wait for season 2

BEASTARS' pacing was slow at the start so doing ~4 chapters per episode worked out for that series. I can't speak on the entire series as I'm not caught up but from what I've read its the type of series that takes its time to develop. Give the manga another chance, the art has a nice charm to it and I think if you give it enough time you'll start to appreciate it. If you can't then wait for S2.

-Aaaand, BokuYaba backlogs are gone. We'll have to see how things are affected when Volume 4 comes out. I did find Makai Volume 1, though. Oh, speaking of...
-Goddamn, 106k in 2 fucking weeks. Iruma would be really lucky if itcan cross 100k in 3 weeks instead of 4, jesus. Huse improvements from both series, but damn. This will really plug in the BEASTARS shaped sales hole the magazine will be in by the end of the month, and then some. And it doesn't look like the situation with most spinoffs that post huge sales with Volume 1 and then decline over time - no, this is legitimately getting more and more popular. I'd say it's a pillar but it doesn't have much of it's own franchise yet. Give it an anime and then we'll talk.
-Iruma's also doing well, I just hope thatit can continue to improve and chase after it's own spinoff. Don't want this to be a whole SMT/Persona situation except with manga.
-SHY is... stable. Maybe declining a bit, but I think it's lived on long enough that it's basically secured itself a spot on the magazine. Getting a french release this early also helps, being a Western-themed superhero series and all. Wish it can grow some more, though.
