How is Makarov saying she might be able to win having confidence? That sounds like somebody whose trying to figure out their best chance.
1) Then I stand corrected. Erza does block Laxus casual lightning blast in her Empress Armor in the anime, so the argument that she’s capable certainly holds water. Though in the manga, she doesn’t really block it.
2) Yeah, there are several things that only happen in the the Anime and are then referenced by the manga. Starry Sky arcs enhancements to the OS is the most obvious example. Though so far all the main media of FT has been directly referenced.
3) Minerva not adding them to the list makes an incredibly weak argument overall. She made a point of dismissing FT the entire arc, so it’s not surprising she wouldn’t add them. An the fact that Jura’s only focus during the big team battle when he could challenge anyone, and we know he’s thrill chasing, went looking for Laxus. Not Minerva.

jura statement speaks for it self. that nuke put her canonically above laxus (atleast to jura). no jura was going for points too, he took out ichiya who was wide open and also tricked orga (who was trying to trick him). this is how bad guys hype works

technically, canonically, it was erza > laxus. and laxus finally surpassed her now. that what happened in the current arc. before that apparently he was always below her (to her knowledge, and erza knowledge about powers are pretty good, looking at natsu here)

Considering the precedence, probably lol. But gonna stay away from Laxus vs Erza for as long as I can. I've got more posts in this topic that many other topics combined, and in the end always go in circle. Always. It's pointless

Erza proved by feats that her powers kept up with the time when she fodderized Kagura with just the magic power she had when was on Tenrou as she didn't use her Second Origin until the end of the Minerva fight. By canon feats Laxus would have been oneshotted by Gild. Gild >>>>>>> Makarov >>>>> Tenrou Laxus. Dude was practically down by Amateratsu 28 which Tartarus Lucy tanked. To think Tenrou Laxus and Gild are even remotely comparable is ludacris.
