Henceforth, I will be deleting posts that complain about Weekly Shonen Jump having too many/not enough gag/battle/exorcism/sports/etc series.

These posts are not insightful, and do not meaningfully contribute to this thread. Also, this decision is not up for discussion, so posts discussing this decision will also be deleted.~ Halloween

I mean as incoherent as BTW was I still think it was more exciting than Samurai 8 so I think it'll sell like 50k

I'm curious what the order of biggest first volumes is of the 20s series. I'd guess something like

Ass Class > MHA > RxL > Neverland > ?
Boruto: 183,413 (4d) > 352,609 (4w)
Ansatsu Kyoushitsu: 121,508 (3d) > 323,689 (4w)
Boku no Hero Academia: 71,575 (6d) > 137,449 (4w)
Shokugeki no Souma: 71,367 (4d) > 139,657 (4w)
Robot x Laserbeam: 59,605 (6d) > 79,396 (2w) > 102,206 (4w / shoseki)

Yakusoku no Neverland: 24,380 (3d) > 49,785 (2w)

What do you guys think about Blade Kid one-shot?
Curious no one answered or even talked about it because Blade Kid was something at least interesting for sure, specially the art, what you can get from the story is basically a battle shounen using masks as a source of superpowers, for once isn't a exorcist series but humans using masks that gives them supernatural powers, overall isn't like "ohh so original" but the art do makes everything looks cool and diferent, some of very cool spread pages:

The author has some real potential in the art department at least, the way he draws some pages and poses it gave me mix of Bleach and Shaman King vibes, he really likes to draw spread pages with stylistic poses, but it does looks really good instead of pretentious.

Sad that Manga Plus isn't translating, i could totally see western readers going all over this one shot and i would like to see this author getting a shot in the magazine, Blade Kid was quite more interesting that i thought would be at first.

Wow. This art is...a lot. But it is really promising.
At first Blade Kid seemed to me as a Bleach rip-off, but I need to read it and give it a chance. Were did you do it?

I just downloaded the raw of the issue, you can find in any manga raw website for download (but i put the double spreads together by miself since the raws separate them)

Edit: Stivie posted pages ago the entire raw on Imgur (The pages i posted above is from my issue that i download):

Thank you very much! Maybe there could have been a thread for the GFC, we could gather everything there and maybe even some voting, etc.

There's not much talk about the GFC even in this topic. Would be interesting to possibly read them and compare all together once they're all out though, try to guess the winner.

How long does it usually take for the GFC winner to be revealed anyway? Not that it matters too much since we often get runner-ups serialised too.

If the oneshots were properly and accessibly translated in a timely manner I think it would be a lovely idea for us to be able to have our own voting for the Golden Future Cup oneshots.
Unfortunately it doesn't look like Viz or Mangaplus freelancers plan to translate them.

Checking jp twitter about last issue and Yozakura, there are a LOT of comments about the big Yozakura rise in the rankings, either directly talking about it or linking to these jp websites with a article about Yozakura and the toc, its cool because i had read some couple of comments weeks ago with people being worried with that bottom 2 placements that happened during the last great chapters, so many are surprised by the last toc, hope it can keep in this week one :^_^

It seems One Piece is on break this week.

Next issue is on October 4, so shouldn't the issue after that be on October 11? This kind of looks like the October 18 issue gets released early on Friday and One Piece is taking a two week break.

It's an october 17 release in Japan which is the 16th for us. But yes, that would indeed mean OP skips 2 issues.

Also...huh. That's weird especially considering he just posted about his new schedule too and how he wanted to make 1k this year. Maybe it's health related?

A one-week break ok, but two seems strange to me, I don't think tha Oda ever done it if we exclude the pre timeskip one.

However, Oda's health doesn't seem so bad to me, quite the contrary.

Considering that he has recently done interviews, meetings with musical groups etc. if he were ill he would be bricked up at home for Covid.
