I would be dead in that heat :lmao Over here there's a hole in the ozone layer so the UV makes the heat feel even worse hence why 25 is my limit where I live, but I can maybe tolerate closer to 30 in other places. Still, I much prefer it mild and cool to just hot :XD
Ooof I can imagine it's worse there :XD ironically most argentinians prefer the cold and hate hot weather, I'm part of the minority who prefers the suffernig.
:hmm Maybe I will stick with Mitsuri after all :lmao
Shinobu Wars 2021? I'll make sure I bring Musashi around again for some more Samurai fun :kappa
Disappointed, that post was meant for you to like her more. :cop
But I saw the Mitsuri avatar you had, it was cute!! I prefer Kanao, Daki and Shinobu over the rest, but every female character in this manga is cool to me.
hmm 🤔 I think it's because of cultural, religious, seasonal, and regional differences. since we are close to India and China, we are more influenced by Indosphere and Sinosphere than Western culture. from cuisine, culture, clothing, to language. the major religion here is islam, so halloween is not widely celebrated (i think it's a christian holiday?). we have 6 official religions: islam, protestant, catholic, buddha, hindu, and confucius. on our calendar, there are so many holidays from those religions, we even have 4 new year holidays: islamic, christian (international), chinese, and hindu haha. besides, there's no autumn in here so halloween would be different. and since there's so many tribes, each of them has their own harvest celebration. :grin2
Yeah I knew a bit, but not so much as you're telling me, so interesting! :zomg

Here there's a lot of christian people in general, but they don't follow much holidays like this one, and Christmas can be a different thing too. There's also the people originally from here with their own religions before the continent (south america) got colonized. Halloween here would happen during spring, so it wouldn't make much sense either.

Also four new years, wow:0. Here we just follow the international one, sadly.
oh we have our own inner rule :hi5 i think i will settle on weekly change haha
you almost change it every day? i didnt realize it :fan
:Haha trying to keep it each 15 days, it's working now because I barely have fanarts saved.
Sometimes people do joke about how I change it almost everyday, but I can't help it. <_>
Here's some pics for you revs :blush

Thank you Nii! :wtf

How have you been? It's been a long time since we talked (I still have to reply in your thread, I'm sorry). The fanarts remind me to ask you how do you feel about the Higurashi anime so far? I got used to it already, though it does make me want to reread the manga and maybe the first anime series.

Saving all of these for future sets.

Sure thing :blush

I'm doing okay for the most part, though the last two or three months were rather bad... But I'm sorta trying to move on now, so it's getting better. Also going to move to a new place next month haha. How about you? Saw your exam went well, glad to see that! (And I forgive you for now)

About the Higu anime, I'm so-so. It's not exactly bad or anything, but not great either. I mostly like the new artstyle tbh (besides Keichi...) but it can be hit or miss at times. Besides that, I'm still not sure what it's going to bring on the table exactly, but maybe we'll find out in the second half. Personally I think they're doing the SOL stuff better than the old anime, but the creepy parts were better/more memorable in the original so far. I'l probably just read the Visual Novel at some point, but I want to get some distance to the anime first :XD So I'm sorta glad that it's a semi-sequel or something, and not the exact same story again.

It's the same for me actually, there are episodes I really enjoy but more because of favorite characters or moments that I'm glad to see that didn't happen in the first animes. For some reason I enjoy Keiichi now actually :lmao though he did look more mature in the first series, he looks kinda very generic now but I got used to it, it's the smiles and serious faces that I can't fully get.

Yeah the gore and horror was way better back then, mainly because I still believe the animation style of this one is too similar to a slice of life or even a comedy, too bright, the animation of the first series was far from being well made (looked like bad cartoons sometimes) but I remember some gore scenes to be very creepy, well made. At least there are other tons of series right now, is there an anime of the season you're particulary liking the most?

By the way great set, especially the signature, I remember them being one of my favorite anime couples years ago. :blush

In Tasmania the heat is especially bad with the hole in the ozone layer, heat comes off super strong but I still love it here. The heat on the mainland can also be worse though haha.

Mitsuri is aesthetically pleasing to me (take that as you will) so she'll probably forever be my #1 in Demon Slayer :kappa

Oooh I'm glad he's fine now! I remember when Miranda got an infection in her paw, she cried so much, it was awful.
She was also particulary cheered up and played a lot when she felt better. Also going to visit you in the garden, playing with your brother, sounds so lovely, Loui is the cutest. ❤

Looks like you guys are his favorite! :blush

Aye, but as I'm just going off of the anime I can't rate her too highly on the list haha. Looks can only go so far, but what's inside matters too :nod

Oh Revs, that moment when you reach episode 8 of Yashahime and see that they are in fact going to ruin Inuyasha's happy ending. Why? Why can't we have nice things? Why does this show exist?

Should we drop it and pretend it never existed or keep going? What's the right move here?

Agreed :nod
I hope you give it a read someday, even if you're full of spoilers now. :sweatbunny At least Mitsuri's chapters, I think you will like her sweet and clumsy personality, and also her fights.

This is what I always wonder everytime I watch a new episode every week :emocat
The more I watch the more I think this should have been ONLY about Sesshomaru's daughter, and not Moroha, even if ironically she's my favorite there so far. Even if I feel that Sesshomaru's character arc ended already amazing in the main series, if they wanted to focus on his father/husband side so badly, it should have been better and not repeating the whole "vs Inuyasha" plot that it was already done.

They're doing what I feared the most, to take elements of the old plot that Inuyasha and Kagome already resolved and giving them some new explications because... of course they have to invent new things. Talking about Inu/Kag, why couldn't they just keep their happy ending? After all the stuff they went through on the long series? Moroha could have had her happy childhood, and just help Sessh's daughters as she is now, being a side character. Really I'm so tired of this whole "shonen heroes MCs are suddenly bad or absent parents because reasons" trope (yes I'm talking about Naruto, Bleach, Nanatsu no Taizai and Shaman King).

I snapped the most when they showed Kikyo... like really? I get that it was the Tree talking basically but when I saw Kikyo's image I was like "come on, just let her rest in peace, leave her dead already." And another thing: the more I watch, the less I like the idea of Rin being the mysterious mom. I used to be alright with the idea, but rereading the manga I like them more as father-daughter relation than having to see her as an adult mother when 100% of the series we knew her as a little kid. It feels weird, and sudden, I don't know.

I wish this was Rumiko's manga, I would have trusted her more instead of new writters with an anime with 0 main source, which makes no sense since they're taking whatever they want from the original series. It's a shame, because I actually like the three main girls a lot, but the background of their lifes, the plot and what they did to the original characters, it's just not worth it.

Now I left a whole wall of text, sorry :sweatbunny
What are your thoughts, Jamms?

I agree with everything you said.

What I'll add is this, I guess. I'm shocked and appalled that they wrote an Inuyasha sequel with zero romance of any type in it. That is a key component to Inuyasha. That dynamic was a key pillar to making it what it was. And Yashahime has nothing on that front. That was never going to work.

They've replaced it with the sort of sisterly dynamic between Towa and Setsuna but it's just not good enough. Partly, I think, because Towa isn't good as a character. I actually like Setsuna and Moroha both but I'm not enjoying either of their stories if I'm being honest. And with Moroha now I'm half afraid to learn her story because so far it's sucked and thrown dirt on the ending of Inuyasha. Towa feels strangely out of place to me, I'm really not sure what she adds besides being the "modern" person.

I don't know. I keep coming back to asking the question "Why does this exist?". And the answer I come back to is "It shouldn't".

Totally agreed with the romance, it's an element Rumiko adds to all her plots no matter what, even if in some mangas it was kinda trolling in the end (she teased about a lot of couples), but the point is that it was there and that the romance was an important part. I was kinda ready to not see Inuyasha/Kagome so much, and thought that they were gonna make a romance more from Sesshomaru's part since we had like, zero of his love side in the first series (making an exception with Kagura who was in love with him).

Towa... I gotta agree, I do like her potential though, but I doubt they will develop her from there. The sisterly love doesn't work because we don't know much about them, it's not the same as for example, Sango and Kohaku, remember? They were one of the main points of the series sometimes and their lost slibling bond, but it was interesting and important because Sango was one of the MCs and Kohaku was a dark character, so the readers cared about them being family again. Now this isn't happening with the main girls, which is sad. Also, in Inuhasha (and the mangaka's series in general), the love (romantic, familiar, etc) took a LOT of time to develop, many chapters and story arcs, but this sequel is extremely rushed and it's like they're trying to insist in how deep and important their bond is and, eh, not working for me.

And yes, I find myself thinking the same, I see the characters and the conflicts and think "what was the point of a sequel? what did the characters even need after the ending? Nothing at all".

I know myself and I know that I will keep checking it until it ends, as much as I dislike it, but when it ends I will just pretend that only Moroha existed and that she had a normal childhood with her parents, the end. :hmph

Also: Naraku remains as the best antagonist of this series, he was so terrible and dangerous I literally can't see something doing better conflicts than all the stuff he did.

Sounds like we're at pretty much the exact same place. :feelsbadman

I really feel like if they were going to do this they should have focused on one girl. Moroha, preferably, but I think Setsuna would have been ok too. Then gradually bring supporting characters like a pervert son of Miroku and Sango. And a son or daughter of Koga. Maybe bring adult Shippo in as well. As it is it's just not working like I wish it would.
--- Double Post Merged, , Original Post Date: ---

And they should have cheated in whatever cheap narrative ways neccisary to make Setsuna the daughter of Kagura and Sessoumaru that he doesn't know about.

Oh, I'm sorry to hear that Nii... I should PM you more often, if you want talk about it of course. But I'm glad you're feeling a bit better now, is there a reason you have to move to a new place or you just wanted it? Is the place nice? ^^

I've been planning to move to a new place for a long time though, that has nothing to do with it. Actually going to move near where Sky lives haha, so I'm looking forward to that. Definitely going to be an interesting time, considering it's an entirely new city that's around 3 hours away from where I live atm.

And again good luck for that nasty exam! :shakefist

And agreed, Keiichi's fun :lmao Just really don't like the generic design, it definitely had more character before...
Totally with you about the gore etc., it's not really working that well atm =/ Maybe they'll pull it off eventually, but you're right with everything you said about the new anime. The old one was quite bad sometimes (mostly the first season, got a lot better with the second I feel), but they usually did those creepy moments justice, even if it was a bit over the top sometimes.

The shows I'm enjoying the most atm are Jujutsu Kaisen and Akudama Drive (from the author of Danganronpa, and it shows), and ofc Haikyuu. Not really a big fan of Danmachi this season, but that already started with the second season. Not sure why exactly, but it just feels like the adaptation is a lot worse compared to the first season (though it still has its moments).

Glad to hear you like the set :blush Still really like them as a couple, but ofc if you haven't watched/read something in ages you sorta get less enthusiastic about it (which applies to most things). Lovely ava as always, btw :nod

Some wholesome Haikyuu pics I found on the net:

And some thoughts

Actually wanted to find more from after the timeskip, but sadly there isn't too much yet :( Here's hoping the anime will generate a bit more, even though it's probably still another year at least until the anime gets to that, probably more like 2... (but I really hope they won't stop here)

How did you like the recent anime btw? Thought they did a decent job. Good, but not quite great.

Like most of the post shonen sequels, agreed, it's like the sequel just can't decide in which girl or aspect focus, the unnecessary drama and angst it's too forced as well, even for something like the Inuyasha series that was pretty dark.

And they should have cheated in whatever cheap narrative ways neccisary to make Setsuna the daughter of Kagura and Sessoumaru that he doesn't know about.
Mangakas always creating the wrong couples at the end of shonens! :emocat

It's a shame, I always liked Keiichi as a main lead (in his arcs) a lot, even a bit more than Battler himself if you ask me, even if I like him too. I still managed to enjoy him in this anime despite everything, but you're right about his lack of... character.

Currently I'm still following the series anyways, I'm not a big fan of it, but it's worth watching and not these series that you feel it's a waste of time.
I feel that they didn't do much justice to the gore, but not even really to the horror parts in general, they are doing a fine job with the building of the whole mystery though, especially when it comes to Rika. It feels that they really want to focus on these parts, more than the spooky side, which is fine by me because I love the complicated universes of Higurashi and Umineko, but this arc in particular was so good at doing horror (especially Rena and her creepy eyes) that it's quite a shame.

Are you still following it?

Jujutsu it's a series I was thinking to read. Like Kimetsu, it's something that suprirses me how popular it became, and the design of the series and characters look pretty cool actually. There are of course a lot of reviews that call it generic, but KnY was as well but I loved the characters, so I think I will give it a try. ^^

Loved Danganronpa a lot, if it's the same author, I will check it out as well! :zomg
Glad to hear you like the set :blush Still really like them as a couple, but ofc if you haven't watched/read something in ages you sorta get less enthusiastic about it (which applies to most things).
New set now, but still loving both, the amount of great Hinata fanarts around it's great~
Think I will try and make some Noya or Kuroo, or even Yachi set in the future.
Any other manga I should check out? 🤔
Could spam you a whole list.

Is there any type of series you enjoy the most?
"hello Miss Revo, I am Loui"

Hi Loui :zomg
It's so cute, looks so animated in the photos, also the eyes. ❤

Is it still visiting you?
Some wholesome Haikyuu pics I found on the net:
Thanks for the art! :bobriki

Honestly these post-time skip fanarts give me life, I loved Kageyama and Hinata together, also Yachi... :blushbirb
And some thoughts
I think I never asked how you felt about the ending, there were people who didn't like it. I personally really liked it, though I do agree that it was quite rushed and they didn't show too much about everything overall post time skip, like you said.

Wanted to see more of other characters, I know Hinata and Kageyama's relationship was the focus, but all Karasuno always had it's time to shine and just showing a quick panel of them and telling what they were doing for living... dunno, really wanted to see a bit more.

I'm sure Furudate will do some extra chapters probaby, or tha anime will add scenes to the adaptation, they will take their time to the last season but as long as they make it well it's worth waiting ^^ (though I do want to see it soon like you hahaha).

About the new anime, I miss a lot the animation of the first seasons, especially the ones of the matches. This one is generic, it's definetly not terrible compared to stuff like Higurashi, or even Tonikaku. Still loving the soundtrack and the voices, and this is where the manga became even more epic with this arc, so overall I have to say I'm still loving to watch the episodes.

Not a fan of the adaptation either, but at least they're respecting the events of the manga. Compared to Higurashi, Hanako-kun, Tonikaku or the new Inuyasha series, HQ! is the adaptation so far I'm enjoying the most.

Tbh watching Fate/Zero, Fate/stay night UBW and Kimetsu no Yaiba around the same times wasn't good for me, Ufotable really did make me have high expectatives for everything else. :sweatdrop
