The most surprising thing is Chainsaw-man not being there. If it´s ending around the same time as WNL that would leave only 2 or 3 chapters left.

On another note Agravity Boys feels like it may be setting up for its finale too, though it could also just be focusing on a proper plot more like Yozakura has been doing, rather than getting ready to end like Moriking.

That is an interesting thing to note, we know WNL is ending before christmas in just 2 more issues so if that's the reason it's not one of the badges, does that mean CSM's ending before christmas too?

So there's a chance it might just be We Never Learn ending on #2 and Chainsaw Man on #3/4 then. That's not too surprising, less so than Moriking/Our Blood Oath sticking around for another few weeks/months.

If that's all then it'll be interesting to see when the new batch starts (I imagine shortly after the double issues/One Piece 1,000th chapter celebration). Depending on how big the batch is the likely candidates to be cut are:

In Danger
  1. Our Blood Oath
  2. Moriking
  3. Agravity Boys
  4. Phantom Seer
(Imagine if only three end at this point and Agravity Boys is the one to survive? lol)

After that it'll be interesting to see if we have any U19 cancellations from the new series (I can't see that happening for Build King, hope not for Sakamoto Boys) which would put the next few in a more dangerous spot if they don't have any cushions, though this likely wouldn't be until Spring at the earliest:

Safe for now
  1. High School Family: Kokosei Kazoku
  2. Hard-Boiled Cop and Dolphin
  3. Magu-chan: God of Destruction
After that, who knows what happens, but I think it would take quite a lot for the last three comfortably safe to be in any serious danger. Unless almost every new 2021 series starts off strong they should be fine.

Comfortably safe
  1. Me & Roboco
  2. Mission: Yozakura Family
  3. Ayakashi Triangle

What's the supposed difference between Phantom Seer/Our Blood Oath and High School Family after this latter one hitting Bottom 1 2 weeks ago? It's presence or buzz seems nonexistent.

TOC-wise the only real difference is whether it's dropped to near the bottom because that's where it's going to live in the magazine as a short gag series, or because its simply unpopular. Hard to know for certain until it becomes a trend and manages to stick around or when sales for it and Phantom Seer shed some light. They could swap positions or be in the same boat but for now I'd be willing to give High School Family benefit of the doubt over Phantom Seer, even if personally I'd rather it be the other way.

Phantom Seer's first volume is out December (so we'll know if it's a total flop or not in the next couple weeks) but High School Family's first volume isn't out until February so it'll be a while before we know if it can sell enough to survive low placements.

I would assume that since it´s from a veteran they will wait until the first volume comes out before axing it, depending on its performance. So it would be safe until march.
Meanwhile Phantom Seer´s first volume comes out on Friday, so it could be considered for a late January/February axe round if it flops.

I think that last place gag theory was more than discarded after seeing how Isobee's treatment in the magazine was heavily different, but okay.

Considering not even Moriking or AGRAVITY have gotten the chop yet I hardly think Phantom Seer is ending before them, when it doesn't even need to rank in Shoseki to actually do better than the first one. You only need so much to easily run for 5 volumes, and even with being in the Bottom 5 for its whole run both are still here. Considering too that series such as Magu and Shakunetsu have been over the Bottom 5 before their volumes were out tells me little about considering Phantom Seer something in danger.

I was right on the money for Kitada, Tsutsui, Tosh, and Yamamoto.

If we see that Roboko is well positioned, there is no reason for us to continue saying that High school family is placed in the botton because it is gag.

I think that because he is a veteran author, the author of the High School Family receives the same protection as Tamura and other veterans who return to the magazine.

I don´t think Phantom Seer is ever ending before Moriking, but it could end before Agravity if the stars allign, i.e. if it sells less than Agravity and we get a 4 series round in February (or 3 series if OBO is not a total flop and they wait for its 1st volume).
But that´s exclusively if the cancelled series haven´t been decided yet and only will be early next year, when Phantom Seer sales data is available. If the new round comes straight after the double issues, which I think is likely, there´s no way Phantom Seer is ending. They wouldn´t have given it a Color Page if they meant to axe it without waiting for first volume sales.

No We Never Learn...and no Chainsawman. Moriking and Agravity Boys are however there.
And the plot thickens :toc

I was actually joking when i talked about Moriking surviving this batch but seems like is very possible to happen :XD

  3. Our Blood Oath
  4. Phantom Seer
  5. Hard-Boiled Cop and Dolphin
Safe for now:
  1. Magu-chan
  2. High School Family (it can change depending on Vol 1 Sales)
  3. Me and Roboco.

Decent first sales + Toc placements being in the middle for weeks and even rising, Cop & Dolphin is for sure not in danger at the moment, unless it crash and burn in the bottom 2 for the next weeks.

The issue with Moriking is that it literally can't not die because of having started to fill Volume 4 like a week ago or two, instead of having ended with Volume 3 which should have been the logical outcome. Given its short chapters it still needs like 2 months or so before actually completing Volume 4 and having a chance to end. This is one of the main reasons given how the editorial department is going to let every series live, no matter how they do, for a longer time, I don't see a point in considering more recent stuff to be in danger or not (or at least that's what it seems for now).

It would be decent sales if he were a newbie, but we are talking about Tamura as a veteran and already had a success (beelzebub). In addition, Corp and Doulphin hasn't even been reprinted yet.

Corp and Doulphin was supposed to sell similar to Ayakashi triangle.

The 4th volume could be filled with extra content, illustrations, etc... Moriking is probably ending in the next batch after the January's double issue along with WNL, CSM and Our Blood Oath...

Stivie, Beelzebub wasn't any mega hit and Hungry Marie was a flop in sales and rankings, you can be sure Shonen Jump did not expected even half of what Ayakashi Triangle did since Yabuki is a larger successful artist than Tamura and didn't had a flop serialized few years ago, isn't a comparable situation.
