the first prize winners will get published in WSJ and the second prize winners will be published in Giga

but you reckon they will actually turn any of these into a series?

it's possible, especially for the Korean and Chinese artists
but can these western comic book artist handle the weekly serialization schedule?

I don't think translating forigen manga into Japanese on weekly basis will be that hard, they can just hire a translator like the Chinese translator for Gunjou no Magmel on Jump Plus
but how will they meet with their editors works? zoom meeting?

seems like a lot of hurdles to Jump over to get into the magazine if you're not Japaneses/don't live in Japan
Oooh I’m not specifically talking about being in Jump itself. thoUgh I’d love to make an attempt next year. i just find it comforting that there
are people my age that are still perusing a career in comics in general

In short, it seems clear that Kimetsu will be in the top 3 next year as well ...

Did not expect Agravity all the way up there but okaaaay. To be honest that series makes me viscerally uncomfortable so I don't read it but I would definitely like to see the reasoning behind its placement there.

Also, I don't really know if it matters, but Magu 1 is sitting at #26,113 physical on Amazon and Roboco 1 is at #38,515–I don't know how many of the reprints go to Amazon warehouses though so this could very well be irrelevant. Magu is down to one left in stock again though sometimes Amazon just says that by mistake. The reprints must not have been too high in number in any case.

Also...Magu and CSM are frequently bought together. Toldja :P

Lol didn't expect Agravity to rank higher than those series. It was 6th on Tsugimanga and 25th here. Pretty interested to know how it keeps ranking high on these things lol.

Also surprised Yozakura, UU and Mashle aren't there.

Between this and rising national Covid-19 cases on a daily basis, you guys sure that’s a good thing?:SOON

(Last I checked, it was at 2000 a few weeks ago.)
People selling their soul, ignore food. Just to buy that kimetsu volume lmao..

Oh yes, once more Agravity Boys gets unexplicably mentioned in a best manga list (and this time above all the newbies and some veterans). The series clearly has some fans in the right places, I just wish it had more fans in general.

With this, it is fair to say that the chances of Volume 4 selling enough to justify keeping the series around have doubled. They are now 0.2%!!!!

Uhh...okay...

Seeing this line-up makes me wonder what Gotoge must feel now. Pride because of its overwhelming popularity? Fear because it got so crazy popular so crazy fast after the anime? Shock because if I were in her shoes I'd still ask myself how the hell my "normal popular" manga turned into the hottest thing in Japan since sliced bread?
In any case she should be rich af by now with all those millions of sales, movies, merch and other stuff made with her idea. No wonder she returned to her family after the series end, I would also want to hide from my scary success for a while until it all calmed down a bit.
Which considering the pictures, it totally didn't. Feels like 2021 KnY will still be an incredible dominant force. Maybe in 2022 the Hype/craze will calm down.

Considering that about 150k are infected in a country of 126 million inhabitants ....

I would say no.

To have such figures in Europe .....

Difficult to say considering that it is not even known for sure if it is a he or a she .....

Wasn't that a rumour that has already been debunked?

Let's ignore Kimetsu one moment since selling 5 million copies in a month has already become a normal situation.

Jujutsu Kaisen almost sold 2 million copies in one month. And without having a new volume. This is going to be interesting. If JJK continues 2021 that way I calculate it could end the year with almost 20 million copies sold. But this is just speculation and only if sales continue that way all the entire year. Maybe Jujutsu Kaisen sales drop on December (next volume comes on January).

I'm really curious for January, as there will be several Big series there including Jujutsu (if I'm not mistaken it will be the first post anime volume).

If Gotouge’s actually a country bumpkin, I somehow see Wani-sensei just returning home all the while keeping the Croc’s new multibillionaire status a secret from everyone else at home. Imagine the old folks not realizing one bit they have an extremely loaded person in their humble town.

Wasn't that a rumour that has already been debunked?
The returning home part is true. The reasons for going back home were not.

But of all the money Kimetsu earns, how much will go to him / her and how much to Shueisha?

The oneshot for next week is about a musician (a pianist) guy btw
This explains why we had so few colour pages for next issue. Weird it didn´t leak with the ToC

Gotouge would probably earn mostly from the manga and light novel.Since we know don't know whatever deal Gotouge got for merchandise/movie/anime profits (if it was one time up front payment or royalties etc), that is up in the air. Sheishua earns from everything since they are the publisher as well as part of the Kimetsu production committee though they won't earn anything from any merch done by Ufotable or Aniples

Gotouge doesn't have a company like Togashi (POT), Toriyama (Bird Studio), or Kishimoto (岸本斉史 スコット), so taxes would hit them harder.

Kishimoto has his own studio company now?
