If the official Jump twitter is reporting about the manga being sold out the demand must be really good, which makes these terrible rankings even weirder since is hard to believe they were totally unaware about the good reception

Right now we have in the magazine 5 GFC winner:
-Tamura
-Tabata
-Yuugo Gotou and Kento Matsuura
-Gondaira
And the irony is that Gege also was there but didn't win it lol.

also Phantom Seer vomic on the 26th and 27th
Before the Phantom Seer vomic, we´ll get ones for Saburo Kono (the one-shot by the Neverland duo that was published in Issue #36-37) and School Sophist (Furudate´s U-19 series from 2009).

Dr Stone: Watch out, you're jinxing it. I do like that everyone hasn't just forgotten they used to be enemies.

BC: It's not bad, but I liked the training and the planning more than these one-on-one fights.

WNL: Called it.

Magu-chan: Nice sentiment, but that probably killed half of the wildlife in the area.

Build King: What do you mean, she's human? Is she not his daughter? And don't smash the building you're standing on.

Sakamoto: (A Spanish translation. Should be a good sign.) HAHAHA! Yeah, don't wait for your turn, just smash 'em first. And the boy is still useful too, thankfully. But at this rate, they're gonna need a bigger supermarket.

M&R: ... I would've preferred if they translated the real TPN story...

Mashle: Is that a woman? Whatever. Why is she so surprised that he beat Abel without magic after already being told that he's someone without magic? And does Bodyguard even know Mash isn't there right now? (The home visit was nice, I hope we see more of his father.)

Yozakura:
That seemed like a bit of an overreaction. But I'm still glad my fears of Taiyo's feelings being treated as a laughing stock turned out completely unfounded.

UU: I'm a bit confused about how these powers work. But little Juiz is cute, and it looks like the Pokeball solved their problem.

AT: Filler, but harmless.

C&D: A crazy lesbian and a little jerk, great. I do love Shark straight up saying he doesn't understand and the captain taking him seriously, even if they still don't explain everything.

Moriking: I'm not sure if "The one with the strongest punch is always right" is really the best lesson for kids, but whatever. So, er, is it over now? It feels very over.

PS: Hehe. She looks like a damsel in distress hiding behind his back, but she's his freaking bodyguard. And casanova guy is back, too. I'm glad, I liked him. (Nice number plate. Probably not a coincidence.)

OBO: The MC barely shows any emotion at all, but the villains turn into a bawling mess at the slightest provocation. The world is 'protected' by a bunch of weirdos who apparently kill anything that looks funny (which... really explains a lot, in hindsight), and there's some very important guy who, er... are we supposed to know him? 'Cause I don't remember him at all.

AB: They're still on that? Well, at least this week's made me laugh a few times.

I remember Phantom Seer having a ton of online hype in Japan when it first started too which was never really reflected in the ToC. I wonder if it it's like Agravity Boys seems to be and is actually fairly popular online but the fans just don't vote for whatever reason, or if it's people who don't keep up with jump weekly but bought it remembering the early hype of the vomic and such.

It'll be interesting to see where it goes from here.

Since people were talking about Horikoshi's comments on MHA's ending earlier, I'm curious what order (and if you were to predict what year) do you reckon the five veteran series will end?

Stone-Academia-Clover-Kaisen-OP
Dr. Stone - 2022: As I said in my predictions topics, this will be the year where it will be setting up for the endgame. What remains here is to solve the remaining misteries and then move to the stage of the final mission. Our voyage will start between 2021 and 2022, and by the end of that year the plot will be completely resolved.
Jujutsu Kaisen - 2022: Shueisha has just discovered their new cash cow and they want to milk it as much as possible, but at the pace the event are occurring I don't imagine it being a long-runner, even if I am not really sure what should be the ending purpose. It can stretch for longer if it turns out there is a greater scope villain still unreveiled.
Black Clover - 2023: This is the kind of series that can add new arcs whenever it wants because the world is vast and unexplored in some parts. That being said, it's validity as a franchise is starting to fade and the magazine may not want it for much longer. It may also play the timeskip card.
My Hero Academia - 2023: Despite all the discussion, I don't see it being completely resolved for a while. There are some plot threads still left hanging and the MC/Main Villain dynamic has just started to get interesting. 3 years is more or less 150 chapters, enough to say it is building towards an ending and is also having no hurry with resolving everything left.
One Piece - 2024: I want to believe Oda saying it needs 5 more years, even if I know that I shouldn't. 2021 is spent on concluding the Wano Arc, and then the big final arc will begin, and with all the characters and the revelations involved will be one hell of a long arc, and also hopefully a memorable one.

As an useless and unreliable bonus, I imagine when the other current series would end, with the assumption that they all get a full run unless the axe is now obvious. Yes, even those that are 5-6 chapters in, I try to guess how the authors imagine an eventual full run. I leave them here without comments:
Mission: family Yozakura - 2021
Agravity Boys - 2021
Undead Unluck - 2024
Mashle - 2023
Moriking - Next week lol
Ayakashi Triangle - 2023
Magu-chan - 2022
Hard-boiled Cop and Dolphin - 2023
Me & Roboco - 2025
Phantom Seer - 2023
Highschool Family - 2022
Our Blood Oath - 2023
Build King - 2026
Sakamoto Days - 2024

Final comment: I would really love an interview from the author of Time Paradox describing how he imagined the series had it not been axed, what directions he wanted to take and for how long its hypotethical run would have lasted.

As I've said before. Maybe we should stop taking the ToC too seriously. It may never be reflective of a series' actual popularity. The ONLY way to know for sure about these things are the internal survey rankings but we don't have any access to those.

13. Build King: I could swear I saw Goku running along that long road! The upside-down castle is still feeling original but in the end this series keeps feeling a bit too much like Toriko (I promise to not reiterate this concept every week).
Now I really wish they would've hidden a little guy running somewhere in the snake painting.

It wouldn't even have felt out of place with the tone of the series.

(Hell, they could even pull an Oda and go "Oh yeah, that guy in the painting? That's Shovel, he used to hang out with giant snakes" some 50 chapters later. Missed opportunity.)

Typically, a series ranked in the bottom is less popular in the magazine. That's what trends and history has shown us. It was never a reflection of actual ranking tho, which was the general misconception.

But the status of current series are kinda obscure just because vast majority of them are new, have similar sales etc. The fact that the current issue's bottom half ToC is almost exactly the same as previous issues also kinda hints at WSJ not knowing where to place what.

I totally see PS moving up more towards the mid portion of the ToC given how its V1 sales is one of the bigger ones we had this year. At this point, after Agravity and Moriking, I can see Cop and Dolphin being the next in line to end.

The ONE advantage new series have right now is time. They have a legit opportunity to branch arcs out and develop characters more thereby potentially interesting more people to pick it up. Yozakura survives because it had time and it showed small growths between volumes.

-Gojou's birthday was Japan top trending topic in Twitter in the same day Shingeki new season episode 1 aired
-Megumi's birthday is today Japan top trending topic in Twitter

I'm starting to get really curious about what would happen in Japan if they release a Jujutsu Kaisen movie (volume 0 or the Hidden Inventory arc). Jujutsu is starting to enter in Kimetsu-level terrain in some other levels that are not "I buy the manga"

News on TPN LA:

The Promised Neverland performed quite well, opening higher than many other live-action Shonen/manga/anime adaptations (Bleach, Tokyo Ghoul, Black Butler, Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, among others), and has set itself up nicely heading into the holiday period soon. It may still have some degree of frontloading, but it has a pretty good shot at reaching the ¥2 billion (~$20 million) milestone.

How much has it sold? Like 1.3million per book? If so, that's approaching BLEACH levels of sales iirc. (My guesstimate would be that BLEACH probably peaked at like 1.5mill?).

I haven't really paid attention to JJK's sales, but I had had this theory for a while that whatever the next success of Jump was it would be higher because of the people migrating from KnY to a new manga, so maybe JJK got a boost from former KnY readers (Think of it this way, if you are someone who had never read a manga and just finished KnY and want something new to read you'd probably pick up the newest hot thing)... I'm not trying to take away from JJK's success or whatever, just saying that I think it definitely benefited it (Same way that, for example, One Piece probably got some readers after DB, SD and YYH had ended, iirc SD and DB ended like a year before OP's debut).
