As promised here's our version, which doesn't use machine translation.
To sum up my thoughts on it: It's simply subpar.
The good parts pretty much just boil down to an interesting main character, and Usazaki's art being expectedly great, although it seems she didn't have help from assistants.

The bad parts are that it just isn't written well in the slightest. Uninteresting crime, predictable and boring truth of the incident, to the point where it makes no sense how the actual investigators didn't get it right themselves. Main character, being inspired by Ace Attorney probably, is just absurdly overpowered with his eye and leaves no room for the reader to participate in the mystery and try to figure it out themselves. To make this work a series the writer absolutely needs to step it up or find a consultant for the detective part of the story, it kinda feels like he never consumed a media of detective fiction, ever. If I had to root for this it'd basically be out of pity for Usazaki, and I don't want that. She should be working on something much better.

Agreed. This whole thing is carried by Usazaki's art and the story of her doing work again after she got robbed of Act-Age, but the writing is just... so lacking :x

Think the same. Also would add that the format and page limit just doesn't help to develop a proper mystery like this. I don't think it will become a serialization anyway, but it can serve as some exposure work to showcase Usazaki again and see if new and better ideas are brought to the editorial. Either that or maybe the writer tries to develop this idea better, or comes up with something else. It's nice to see there's intent on keeping her in the magazine and create something new, but I can wait as much as it's needed until they can come up with a good work.

Agravity ending is expected after last weeks chapter. I will miss it, but this was a long time coming.
I´m more surprised by a new round not starting in issue #7. Seems pointless to postpone it.

I agree this wasn't great. The concept of the main character is kind of interesting, but the central mistery was forgettable. I can´t see this tuning into a good series without a lot of changes.
Usazaki´s art was also subpar. Character designs are great, but the one-shot looked rushed to me, lacking a lot of impact. She should take a bit longer with the next oneshot.

Would love to see another proper mystery/detective manga in Jump, but Cyclops definitely doesn’t seem to be that, unless the author polishes his ideas better.

Also Build King will start to place in the ToC in 2 issues right?

I know with Act-age the writer was in charge of panels and what goes in it which could explain why the art for the one-shot isn't engaging or interesting compared to act-age. I hope Usazaki works with a strong writer next time

I'm really hoping that Magu-chan can have some growth this volume. I'm glad they're giving it a CP for its upcoming volume release to show that they at least have some faith that this could possibly stick. Hopefully the initial print is a bit bigger as well...

I’m really happy for the author, although the popularity is literally beyond me. It went from great to bad and generic in a matter of few chapters and it never recovered imo. Anyways, 430K is damn impressive for just the 1st volume, congrats’!
I see people saying this but this is how I more or less saw SxF lol

Damn Magu getting another CP before Roboco, they're definitely pushing it hard, hope it pays off and volume 2 shows a big improvement in sales. Also yeah I have to repeat the sentiment that this one shot just isn't that good, I hope that whatever Jump has Usazaki doing going forward isn't this because I think if this got serialized it'd flop, even with how many people want her to succeed.

Also lol Dr Stone is matching it's amount of 2020 covers in only 7 issues.

Agravity... 😭😭😭😭 i Wish It could survive and see an anime of It, but it wont be possibile anymore 😔😔😔 it was much better than any of the new manga of the magazine... moriking started with boom too, I remember an issue in which ranked 3rd place.
So sad... about these news

With both Agravity Boys and Moriking gone, the ToC is going to get more interesting since there would be only one axe-fodder (ObO). That can actually be some bad news for Honomieru at short term but who knows

Is really confirmed that just ended? Because it seems way too rushed considering last chapter, i will not be any surprised if AB gets a epilogue or something at Plus like other series got, but is really strang that they're not starting a new round at #7, they already have 2 free spaces and now will get 4, well, probably at #8 so...

But man, Nakano is really trying to piss me off with these "Black Clover get one thing but not the other", just give the damn cover too or be consistent and give the lead cp for Stone lol

Will be a shame to see Agravity Boys finally go after seemingly surviving nearly every round thanks to a veteran ending, I enjoyed most of its run and always appreciate a sci-fi in Jump. Makes sense for Moriking to follow it out the door with how it’s also going.

You would think Phantom Seer would be a little more safe with its sales but who even knows now, it’s gonna be a tough few months for the 2020 series. Other than OBO I think Hard-Boiled Cop and Dolphin really needs to show improvement with its second volume now.

Didn’t Build King and Sakamoto Days essentially take the spots CSM and WNL were leaving, since for a few weeks we were up to 21 series instead of 19? If only Agravity Boys and Moriking end now and get replaced we may just stay at 19 for good.

Shonen Jump limit of series is basically 21 with most of time having 20 series at the same time, as you can see in my sign we have 19 now, with the end of AB and probably Moriking too, we will have 17 series being serialized, which means 4 free spots in theory but it will be probably 3 new series like Minsel said above unless HxH or BTW are returning next weeks or Jump want to work at low profile for a while

Went to check the Japanese Wikipedia page for Jump and found this quote sourced to a magazine called Studio Voice in a 2008 issue.
"Shigeo Nishimura has stated that "all works with a second or lower questionnaire are candidates for completion . "
If that's true then....damn..
