Rank is complete. I'm really really really surprised Death Note and Saint Seiya didn't made it. But well, almost everything important in Jump made it, and then some surprises like Captain or Hoshin Engi.
Shonen Jump has included 33 manga in the top-100.
Dragon Quest probably got ranked that high even though it's a 90s manga due to its remake announcement, I guess.
Hoshin Engi and Hikaru no Go are two excellent manga, which I recommend anyone check out if you haven't, definitely in my forever top 10 (Especially Hikaru no Go, even though I love Hoshin Engi), though I will abmit nostalgia most definitely plays a mayor role on Hoshin Engi being one of my favorites since it was one of the first manga I ever read.
But I guess the manga I'm most surprised about are
Sket Dance ranking, like iirc it sold decently well, but I would imagine that something that sold in the same level like Toriko or Shokugeki no Soma (which i think both sold a little better and were more recent? Heck, Shokugeki had a recent season), even titles like Black Clover sold better and are more recent, but I guess people who read Sket Dance loved it enough for them to actually vote for them (If you read Black Clover, it probably means you are also in a demography reading current WSJ titles, and you might just like MHA more than BC, or Chainsawman or whatever, that's probably what happened with lots of titles that were absent.)
BTW I mention
sales as a factor because it's pretty clear that you had to be a best selling manga to get enough votes in this, even old manga that were super influential got mentioned so that's great.
Outside Jump Black Jack is a surprise, we don't know its exact circulation numbers but... It's just impressive it still got so many votes. Also Master Keaton, I have not read it, maybe I should... I just thought if an Urasawa manga would get picked it probably would have been a more recent one like Monster or 20th Century Boys.
Shaman King, Sailor Moon, Death Note and Dr. Slump being absent are my greatest surprises too.
Death Note specifically, like it was such a hit, it managed to sell like 2 million per volume iirc... It's one of the biggest sellers, along with Dr.Slump, not to reach the list.
As for SK It's weird considering the SK remake should have put it into people's minds again, I think.
And last, I'm surprised that KnY didn't take the first spot, I am happy it didn't, I just would have been happy with DB, SD, OP... Anything other than KnY dominating yet another list lol.
