So they underestimated what to print for Kaisen?

It's been more than 2 weeks since last TOC. I want to know if there will be more newbies in next issue.
I'm figuring they will start in issue 10 after the trio of one shots are done, Sakamoto and Build King are ranked and anything else that's ending this round will be out of the magazine. Could be wrong but seems most likely.

I'm still thinking that Undead and Mashle will get the cover for their anniversaries in #8 and #9, and that's why they're running oneshots for 3 issues instead of having new series yet.

If you go by pattern, in the last 10 years, Jump only started a new batch on issues #7, #8 and #9 in 2020 (UU, Mashle, GotW) and 2018 (Bozebeats, Act-Age) but at issue #10 or #11 there are many years like 2011 (Dois Sol, Magico and the other 2) 2013 (Edison, World Trigger), 2014 (Illegal Rare and the other 3), 2015 (Kagamigami, Black Clover and other 2), 2016 (Yuuna, Yaiba) and 2017 (WNL, Stone and the other 4 series).

Like mentioned, technically UU and Mashle anniversaries should be on #8 and #9, so would make sense for them to wait two issues and start a new round of 3/4 new series at #10.

Kimetsu no Yaiba 1 became the first work ever to sell more than 5 million copies in Oricon's history with 5,029,069 copies sold in total.

As for Kimetsu no Yaiba 23 and Gaiden they have closed out their 5th week with 4,297,770 and 1,704,584 in total, respectively.
I'm not sure if you're intentionally reporting the numbers of the week in which the volume crossed the 5M mark (since it happened a week ago), but Kimetsu volume #1 has already sold 5,099,821

If it was intentional, my bad

Also volume #23 is missing the limited edition, that would put the sales VERY close to the 5M mark with just 31 DAYS... (it's missing a week in sales, but up to December 27th the limited edition had sold 646,417 so the final volume has already sold 4,944,187 minimum)

The final volume sold almost 5M copies in the time frame of 1 month.. Unbeliavable numbers

We already knew it had crossed the 5 million mark but we didn't know it was the first thing ever to do so since the article was only posted this week.

Oh, you are right, I didn't pay attention to that fact. I thought it was a consensus that it would be the first thing ever to cross the 5M mark, but we actually didn't have this information, you're right

Though there's a guy on a box office forum who has been reporting manga sales numbers and he was already reporting Kimetsu as the first volume in Oricon's history to reach the 5M mark since last year, so that might have confused me a bit lol

Seeing series like Ayakshi and Magu-chan stagnate with their second volumes, hopefully Phantom Seer’s second volume can show some good growth 🙏🏻

Hiroki Shibata the famous Toei director is Yuusaku Shibata (Yoakemono, ZIPMAN) father

guess now we know how he end up doing the DQ Prequel

So there’s still hope for a ZipMan anime for the 6 ZipMan fans out there

Hooray! :smile-big

In all fairness, they could probably make a decent OVA out of it if they just tweak the pacing a bit. It had a strong beginning, a (short) middle and a big climax, which is rare for U19's but great for a two-hour movie.

That JJK drop is sad. Too bad we can't see the actual numbers it could've posted because of the stock issues.
Oh well, next volume I guess.

Stop the underprinting spree already, Shueisha. S8 was almost a year ago.

With the current volume you can see is a matter of stock but there's not a single other volume in the top 500 and its doing poorly since day 4 at least, it will probably come back with the new episode next week but maybe JJK already (or very close to) reach the peak in sales, which still pretty big btw

About Shoseki, Yozakura dropping only 3 positions! This compensated for the last 30+ drop, but Jesus, what happened with Magu-chan? The series is dropping hard:

Magu-chan

Vol.1: #40 > #89 > #96 > #194 > #238 > #209 > #362 > #343 > #436 > #Out (didn't returned from here)
Vol.2: #50 > #70 > #140 > #202 > #349 > #473

Last JJK reprint was almost a month ago so it is purely because of the stock, the week after this should be huge for JJK with the 2nd cour starting and reprint coming.
