Elusive new chapter kinda feels out of place. Going to hunt after previous chapters feels strange

Time to rank Jump this week again.

Jujutsu Kaisen
Undead Unluck
Sakamoto Days
Witch Watch
Kowloon's Ball Parade
My Hero Academia
Elusive Samurai
Mashle
Phantom Seer
Ayakashi Triangle
Mission of Yozakura Family
Black Clover

Magu-chan
Shark and Dolphin

-Jujutsu Kaisen and Undead Unluck continue in godly level for me.
-Sakamoto Days continues on fire too.
-I've laughed so hard with Witch Watch this week.
-Very good chapter 2 for Kowloon's Ball Parade. I got what I wanted, and things are looking very interesting so far.
-Elusive Samurai has improved for me a lot this week. Meanwhile the opposite can be said for I Tell C.
-Seems Shark could be ending really soon.

The second chapter of NDBP was different to what I expected. I expected more plot progression rather than manly dialogue among the characters. I thought it was fine, although I am not sure I will continue to read it for much longer. I think it is ok, just a type of manga I have seen done way too many times and thus I hope the authors manage to add more original characteristics to this work.
WW was fine once again. Perhaps a bit weak, but if good supporting charactres are added, I can see it staying for a while.
i tell c was okayish, but I am not really liking any of the characters so far.

Sakamoto and Mashle had good chapters as well as DS and AT in my opinion.
To be honest, I am not really invested in the current backstory in MHA, but it was not bad per se.

Yozakura was ok, the bad guy's backstory was a bit too edgy for me. I hope Shinzo and Kengo's fights can help flesh them out a bit more, as they feel the most in need of it in the family

Undead was incredible, what a fantastic way to close out this arc. The narration and action paired excellently, and the last page hit just right. Having me more interested in Rip and Latla is a nice bonus too

Mashle was good, didn't care for Mash and Deet's antics but it was still mostly fine

Ayakashi was alright, as much as I like Reo this chapter didn't do much for me, but nothing that bad either. Mostly a cute love-triangle chapter (or whatever shape it is at this point)

Magu was good, a hotpot chapter is a fun idea, and it delivered pretty well. It does seem we might be building to a more serious plotline from here, so I'll keep my eye on that

Dolphin had some good action, not a ton else to say about it. Not sure about the Poseidon stuff

Roboco was a bit weaker than usual but that's still plenty good in my book. Had some good gags like usual, and the Flazzard reference did get a chuckle, but the focus of the chapter didn't have the most potential

Phantom was pretty good, the dolls and the puppet master were plenty creepy, and I really appreciate last chapter giving the side cast a fight for when they show up at the end

HSF was the usual, it's been a while since the last Gomez chapter. Gags landed pretty well, but the ending felt a bit too quick, even if pretty funny

Build King was ok, some interesting lore bits and character interactions in there but it's felt very slow lately, hopefully the next phase of the exam is better than the first

Sakamoto was great, really solid action from both fights, and the last page was nothing short of hard-boiled

Samurai was good, I've been hoping to get some focus on the bad guys and this chapter delivered, especially the eye panel. We got properly introduced to the other vassals, which is nice. For some reason the boar's design really freaked me out, so it's got my attention

I tell c was good until the end, I liked the slower setup compared to the previous chapters, but the appearance at the end has me doubtful. That being said, it could certainly be a fake-out or there be a bigger mastermind to keep the case going, but I'm not optimistic

Witch was good, gags were solid and character interactions were cute, not much more to say

I liked Kowloon's focus on the two lead's dynamic, and I'm fine with how they're now going to be on this team. Interested to see how it goes from here

JJK was incredible this week, and the other veterans delivered pretty well too

Magu: Setting up future plot is nice. Seem like Unerus and Magu know who behind al these incidents.
I tell C: Improvement on the mystery aspect is good. Also the characters interactions are fun.
Kowloon: Still setting up, the girl is fun.

This week's top 5:
1. Magu-chan: God of Destruction - Super hilarious chapter this week. The new rankless beings were a good addition to the cast. I'd love to see the occult club turn into a mythical being search and rescue-type series, something with vibes similar to Pokemon or Lilo & Stitch. Either way, I'm excited to see what's going to happen next week.
2. Mission: Yozakura Family - Phenomenal chapter, but don't bully Aoi! She's super cute, but I know learning more about her circumstances is going to decimate my emotions. I was also a bit surprised about the all-black guy's past. It'll be satisfying to see his fight next week. Also, the volume 7 color was drop-dead gorgeous.
3. I Tell C - Quite interested to see where this development is going to lead. The main girl is cute (wish the author would've tried a romcom again), but I'm also curious about the older brother. He seems like there could be something suspicious about him.
4. High School Family: Kokosei Kazoku - Pretty decent chapter this week. The Gomez chapter successfully delivered the necessary laughs, and I'd say this was one of the better chapters of the series.
5. Mashle - The chapter was pretty good, and I'm hoping that Finn is finally about to get his moment to shine. Lance immediately knowing that Mash, Dott and Finn would be in trouble was probably the funniest part of the chapter.

The best of the rest:
6. Sakamoto Days - The fight between the girls was satisfying, but the battle between Boiled and Sakamoto was pretty lackluster in my opinion. Too much of it was offscreen or total decimation; Boiled barely got to do anything. I hope the duo can at least become recurring characters.
7. Witch Watch - Another alright chapter. I sometimes find myself chuckling, but never laughing solidly like I do in Magu or sometimes Roboco. The romance part also feels a bit weak, but I'm hoping that one of these two aspects can be improved if they introduce some more characters.
8. Me & Roboco - The first half of the chapter fell flat for me, but it was at least able to get a few laughs out of me by the end of it. I almost completely forgot about the lion until this chapter happened lol.
9. Undead Unluck - The LCP looked great, but with this chapter's ending, I hope this arc is officially concluded. The pacing throughout it was pretty rough, and a lot of the meta jokes didn't really land for me.
10. Ayakashi Triangle - This series is all over the place for me. Last week was interesting, this week was boring and generic even for a filler chapter. The ecchi doesn't really even seem to work much of the time with the story it's trying to tell like it did with Yuuna.
11. Nine Dragons' Ball Parade - Pretty boring chapter, but the new girl seems like a good addition. Hasn't caught my interest at all yet, but it's still much better than Elusive Samurai!
12. Hard-Boiled Cop and Dolphin - Seems like this is going to get axed much sooner than I was expecting. Random plot developments being thrown out left and right.

Overall, it was a pretty weak issue of WSJ this week. Magu-chan and Yozakura were miles ahead of the rest of the series that I normally follow.

Witch Watch, Mashle, BLack Clover, Nine Dragon's Ball Parade, and Sakamoto were probably the best of the week.

Would have like I Tell C, but this mysterys been done way better before, should have done more silly shenanigans and did plot stuff next week. just way too fast pace that the build seemed so pointless.

Another strong batch of chapters but Sakamoto Days especially hit it out of the park (literally). That final spread was the epitome of badass.

Plenty of good stuff from the battle series this week week: Jujutsu Kaisen looked especially fantastic and that final page definitely got me hyped; Undead Unluck's choice of narration of this recent arc seems a smart way to attract new readers with its cover and lead colour page, but it was also really poignant and served as a great finish to this battle. My Hero Academia was good, but I still do feel a little off whenever the series explores Endevour's past in detail and tries to absolve him of what he did. Phantom Seer and Black Clover delivered what I expected they would, which was goodl; Mission: Yozakura Family went full chuunibyou again with the villain but that's to be expected (and admittedly it was still fun to read, even if a little OTT); and this was the first Dr. Stone chapter I've enjoyed in quite a while, thanks to no ridiculous science exposition, instead delivering some impactful action scenes with the supporting cast.

My thoughts on the new batch are scattered right now: The Elusive Samurai had a mix of establishing important events and characters while also having the cast go on a hunt that feels inconsequential right now; i tell c is starting to feel amateurish with its set-up of the case as well as its overall delivery, smells like an early axe to me; WITCH WATCH turned it around completely for me this week, loved the gags and am very grateful they're at school now, hope it keeps up; Nine Dragons' Ball Parade was good enough thanks to focus on the main duo's relationship so early on (every BL shipper is going to eat this up - smart!) but the introduction of the girl and the school at the end felt very tacked on in the most artificial, unexciting way possible.

Hard-Boiled Cop and Dolphin is accelerating at a rate which still feels enjoyable, so even if it will end soon I'm enjoying this climax. Magu-chan: God of Destruction hinted at introducing something more endgame but it's still a tease for now, which put a damper on the entire chapter for me. And then there's Build King... those house mechas were so silly, just like all the characters introduced in this lacklustre exam. Even as someone who was never a big fan of Shimabukuro this is still a let-down. I'm curious to see if there are any fans enjoying what's happening right now or is there a consensus that this is not up to par?

Here's my ranking of them compared to last week:
  1. (+2) Sakamoto Days
  2. (+2) Jujutsu Kaisen
  3. (+3) Undead Unluck
  4. (-4) Me & Roboco
  5. ( - ) My Hero Academia
  6. (+11) WITCH WATCH
  7. (+4) Mashle
  8. (+1) High School Family: Kokosei Kazoku
  9. (-7) Nine Dragons' Ball Parade
  10. (-2) The Elusive Samurai
  11. (+4) Hard-Boiled Cop and Dolphin
  12. (+1) Phantom Seer
  13. (+1) Black Clover
  14. (-2) Mission: Yozakura Family
  15. (+4) Dr. Stone
  16. ( - ) i tell c
  17. (-8) Ayakashi Triangle
  18. ( - ) Magu-chan: God of Destruction
  19. (+1) Build King

Really good issue for me this week. Undead Unluck knocked it out of the park this week, and speaking of baseball I'm still enjoying Kowloon a lot as well. i tell c is my favorite of the newbies atm right now though, really liked this weeks chapter. Dr Stone and Sakamoto were my other highlights this week.

I think I liked Ball Parade the best of the new series this week, it was a strong character-focused chapter which I feel like the recent sports flops never bothered about. They were all just focused on rushing into the sport as quick as they can so it's nice to get one that cares about establishing its cast for a change.

I remember the last one, Beast Children being especially bad for that, it threw so many characters at you all at once and none of them had any development outside the match (or much in it either). I can see this one turning out really good if it does well.

Otherwise Witch Watch was a fun gag chapter and a lot better than ch 2, I tell c was mostly just okay with a cool panel at the end, and Elusive Samurai is still telling dull history lessons and completely failing to capture my attention (also the modern day jokes are completely out of place, cringy, and not funny at all, I really wish they'd stop).

Mashle starting this next part of the arc with a lot of comedy, I so dig it. Yozakura was ok, didnt care to much for the exposition but the set up is hype. Cop and Dolphin was crazy this week, gonna really miss it once its gone. Sakamoto Days was so much fun craziness. Phantom Seer was also nice with the action.

The four newbies were all ok this week, Elusive Samurai stepped up from last week, finally introducing the supporting cast, and I actually felt the comedy was better handled than in other chapters. I tell C left on quite a cliffhanger, liked that it wasnt just another cookie cutter case like the previous ones. Witch Watch was also so much fun this week, loved it. Ball Parade was also very enjoyable, its definitely proving to be charming and doing right what other sport series did wrong like Beast Children
