It is quite possible that there will be an improvement in the sales of the third volume of C&D.

After all, there will be a reprint of the 1st and 2nd volume.

No, Phantom seer is going to leave a lot of loose ends. it is not something worthy.

And C&D sells less than Hungry marie, which was canceled with 32 chapters. C&D had time to improve more than anyone.

If you want to give C&D a year to improve, then you will also give that period to Build king, ItellC and Nine dragons.
Cop & Dolphin reprints strongly suggest and highly implies its sells are improving. This means giving it time is working. It should reach its one year anniversary safely.

I don't know why Build King should be given more time. It's an unmitigated disaster in its sales and its rank. Since it didnt even try to kill off characters or switch genres, there is no point giving it time to improve.

Its baseball season. Nine Dragon Balls Parade should last until the winter. No point cancelling something in season. Also as the only sports series, its also increasing diversity and inclusion so its probably safe just like hinomaru zumou was.

I Tell C should last to see if its major plot development helped or hurt it. It should be given time to improve. Its only fair.

Is improving but Agravity is still mogging it.
Let's see how it will end all of this but it's been 2 years trainwreck from Nak and Jump staff(Sam8, Act age , covid , phantom seer and now Build king and Cop)

Now have you changed your mind about sales?

because before you were defending that the internal reception had more weight, but with this C&D reprints did you change your mind?

Sales are important only when it suits.

To be fair, C&D is also slightly better on the ToC than Build King. So, there wouldn't be contradiction in that aspect.

I'm pretty sure C&D would be cancelled on the next round.

The best was not that good, after all he still spends time at the bottom.

I think I always said its not only about sales. Cop & Dolphin has a better placement than Phantom Seer and Build King. It has better sales than Build King.

Its clear that its sensible to kill Phantom Seer and Build King and keep Cop & Dolphin since readers want to read it more than they do Phantom Seer and Build King.

Tbf, not much the staff could do about COVID and the ACT-AGE scandal. I'd argue that they at least handled the latter as gracefully as possible when it came out (though a big part might've also been Shiro Usazaki being a champ with an admirable moral center). And there'll always be failures, even by veterans. At least BK gets axed in a timely manner.
Putting way too much faith in Sam8, keeping flops like AB around for too long and now canning PS... yeah, that's arguably some misteps.

Readers do not demonstrate what you are saying, since Phantom sales have exceeded 20K while C&D sells less than 14K.

If readers really want to read more C&D, then this should have better sales, just voting doesn't help.

Editors shouldn't have brought Shimabukuro back, as he got involved in something similar to what happened to the act age writer.

Yeah , at least they handle well the scandal letting the artist to do whatever she wanted with the series.
But I dissagre with the covid , I don't think they handle it well(although we could argue that no one handle it well).

Disagree.

Placement is the only way to know what readers want to read. Not every reader buys every manga they read and not every person who buys a manga reads the magazine.

People can like a manga without buying it.

I don’t get the notion that the editor and chief is a “hack” based on what gets cancelled and what stays. There’s always a high influx of axes. And even then, there have been a huge amount of big hits with Nak, one being one of the biggest successes in the magazine’s history. The only fair take I’d say is maybe Samurai 8 being a mess. But even then I highly doubt S8 huge promo run was 100% Nak pulling the strings, and probably Was a decision from server also ppl

If it were that simple we would not have gigantic sales like those of One piece Jujutsu and Kimetsu.

Everything has to be taken into account, so avoid discussions like this.

How didn't they handle Covid well? They delayed the magazine twice (or was it once?) when there was suspicion that someone got infected and from the authors' comments after that, there was a shift to working digitally with assisstants which both seem like good decisions. They was also a delay of a batch of volumes once but I can't remember the reason

Everything worked as best it could during the pandemic, no one was ready for Covid.

People have tendency to hate the authority, the elite or anyone in charge.
Anything goes wrong. let's just blame the figurehead. It is easier to do that.
There are billion possible reasons for the axed. Maybe one of the pair got Tatsuya’d. Or they got too busy to continue the manga. Or they found a better occupation than being a wageslave for Shueisha.
Nah, just grab a pitchfork and stick it to the man ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.
I blamed RLM for turning 'hack' into a common insult. So common that it lost most of its meaning.

But we would? Each of those manga sell way more than Weekly Shonen Jump sales itself, showing that tons of people don't actually buy the magazine.

Friend, the sale of these manga shows that jump has an audience. It does not matter if it is someone who buys the regular magazine or not.

I know that people are not obliged to buy volumes, but only the act of buying and sales have grown is solid proof of support.
