Build King is ending today but...
-Final page isn't a "final page", but a cliffhanger
-Volume 2 in June, volume 3 in September, and not any note saying is the final volume
-No message of "look forward to next Shimabukuro work"

I don't think there is enough chapters for volume 3, so maybe they are moving it somewhere.

Also the last page looks nothing like a ending series, it seems like it ended with a clifhanger as if it would continue in the next chapter, something weird is going on with this ending

In that posted text, it says Build King getting a continuation/epilogue in Volume 3 out in September.
Dang, they wanted it out the magazine that bad. Shonen jump has been strange lately. Yes the series is awful but at least let him have some type of closure.

Did some calculations and it turns out that the TPN LA did three times ($18.3m.) of what an anime (merch, BR, DVD - based on Oricon Yearly charts) pulled in terms of profit throughout both 2019 and 2020 put together ($5m.).

This was probably a conscious choice of the writer, to encourage people to buy the last volume. From the sudden change in pace, it's clear he was told about the series ending weeks ago.

Weekly Shônen Jump cover.
Ah i was right :) they changer the stories. Dk why though cause now there is an outdoor and an indoor sports. Before it was both indoors thus both had a bigger chance to see each other.

Miura changing the boy’s sport to badminton isn’t a surprise once we knew that was his favorite sport. It’s a bit of a shame though, because he could’ve turned it into a mixed doubles format. Quite frankly, badminton could use a little more representation in spokons. Plus, the fact we’re the third biggest market outside Japan (at least from M+) and that my place is well-known for badminton, that’d be appealing.

I’d love to see the manga blowing up here and pushing more youth to try the sport out.

Which route do we think the series will/should take?
  • Focus on the main duo for the entire series, becoming couple early on (like the one shot)?
  • Focus on the main duo for the entire series, becoming couple later on/near the end with other lover interests as well?
  • Focus on multiple pairings across the school/sports?
I'd be most keen on seeing multiple couples (like Tsuredure Children) with a couple volumes dedicated to each, and then throughout each one we can get crossover of the characters/pairings across the school. But if it is about the same couple for the entire time I hope it can avoid cliche love triangles and filler romcom chapters to pad out the real progression.

What's the genre of this? Sports with romance? From the color pages I wouldn't say the sports are the focus here. I mean, they are just sitting there staring at us.

There's going to be a subplot where the main character made a promise to a girl when he was younger that he was going to win the national badminton championship. In return, she was also going to reach the top of her sport. Thing is, he doesn't remember which girl he made the promise to, nor what sport it was (in fact, he doesn't remember the promise at all until the end of the first volume).
As a result, all the girls he ends up acquainted with will be potential love interests. Each will play a different sport (the basketball girl, the volleyball girl, the girl that also plays badminton,...) and end up falling for the MC.
At the end, he will pick the one girl that the first chapter was focused on and we will all feel that we kind of wasted our time.
