Kinda wild to compare Blue Box to those two at this point. I mean, Blue Box is just about to get one of the earliest colour pages in recent memory in the magazine while I Tell C is a bottom dweller making desperate attempts to latch onto something, and Candy Flurry (while too early to tell) doesn't inspire much hope either. I'd also say Blue Box having a main character who manages to thwart drama with newly introduced potential love interests is hardly a negative. If anything it makes him stand out from the modern romcom protagonists we've had in WSJ with his level-headedness.
I just feel like blue box just feels perfect for a short 2-4 volume romance series, but i can't see how it can do something to get to long shonen jump length, especially with how the main character is just so level-headed

Blue Box has some Bakuman+sports vibes. I'm enjoying it a lot.
It's kind of as if the nationals was analogous to getting an anime+voice acting role. For now, at least.

Based on what we've seen it could go two ways. It might end up a slow-burn romance with equal focus on Taiki and Chinatsu's sports journeys at the same time, perhaps they will become an official couple in several volumes time and we'll watch their relationship grow from there along with them heading for nationals.

But it could also do something similar to Horimiya or Tsuredure Children and focus on many characters across the school and their overlapping romances. We've already been introduced to about three recurring characters outside of the main duo and we're sure to get more. We could very well get several volumes dedicated to one couple or perhaps it will become an ensemble cast over time across all different sports and their potential pairings (not necessarily love triangle/square/hexagons/octogons though, or at least hopefully not).

Either way, this isn't like the usual rom-coms we're used to with WSJ in the past 20 or so years, this feels like it's going for its own rom-sports lane.

Are you...actually complaining about the protagonist of a romance series acting like an actual person and not a compilation of hetare tropes?

Is this what society has come to?

Lovely pop art style for Witch Watch.

This issue's chapter restored my faith in Black Clover. It was bad ass and easy to follow.

Both Magu and Roboko had their funniest chapters in recent memory. Naputaaku is seriously growing on me.

I wonder what Senku and co. will do with Xeno and Stan and their lackeys, just leave them? Secure them? Drag the statues around?

I'm really not enjoying Candy Flurry, it feels very trite and the characters aren't that interesting. I wish the art was better at showing emotions.

I'm really sad to see Kowloon seemingly getting to its untimely end, but hopefully it won't be U-19. That's my only wish for now.

Witch Watch is also pretty good, better than usual. The cat design is cute.

Witch Watch had a great chapter with the introduction of an interesting character. It's more and more like Sket Dance but I'm not complaining.
Mashle chapter was kinda weird for me. A lot of things happened but at the same time it felt kinda empty.
Sakamoto was so funny. I like this kind of dynamics when done right.
Kowloon's art was really a problem in this chapter. I feel like the writer wanted to do something better than the final result.
Also, I tell c is a decent detective series now. One can complain about its overcomplicated and bad start but if you ignore that prologue - like some people did with Dr. Stone - the series is good. I like its crazy characters. This chapter the author got me surprised with the developments but at the same time the ending was deductible by first part of the chapter. I think this is a good thing though. Too bad it is in its way out.
Blue Box was ok and seems to be building for the bigger hook in chapter 7.
The first half of Candy Flurry was surprisingly good and the senpai might be the first character of this series that I care. The second half was by the books and flat.

Some of Shiro’s panels lacked detail and there were some white backgrounds, but I’m not sure what you mean by a big problem.

Sports scenes are okay, but there's lots of face closeups this chapter and they fail to cause impact. I don't think the last page was supposed to be that bland. I felt nothing.
The white backgrounds were intentional, I guess. When Shiro appears there's no background.

My Jump Issue 25 Ranks

Great: Yozakura Family, JJK, BC, Blue Box

Good: MHA, Witch Watch, HS Family, Sakamoto Days, Cop & Dolphin, UU

Average: Dr. Stone, Mashle, Candy Flurry

Meh: Elusive Samurai, Roboco, Ayakashi Triangle, Magu-chan, i tell c, Nine Dragons' Ball Parade

Yikes:

Black Clover and Yozakura Family are my two favorites of the week for sure.
HS Family continues the sports comedy which is good.
Kind of annoyed Dr. Stone spit in my face for caring about something to twist it on me.

Amazing showing from Yozakura this week. I've always liked it, but this is the first time it's really gotten a strong emotional reaction out of me. Gondaira really made the most of the Cover, the LCP, and the extended pages. I couldn't be happier for the series.

Jump #25:

Great:
Jujutsu Kaisen
- You can't get something without offering something in return. The comparasion panel with Toji was lit 🔥
Sakamoto Days - The art and the action in the chapter was amazing.
Kowloon's Ball Parade - What a crushing defeat. It's a shame that the authors won't be able to elaborate the characters of our team players.

Good:
Blue Box
- Great mix of sport action and relation stuffs.
Witch Watch - Oh, that was cute.
The Elusive Samurai - Somewhat predictable, but not bad. The guy from the last panel is another freak who shows up.

Fine:
Candy Flurry
- Toka backstory was nice. So we gonna get exam arc now.

Meh:
I tell C
- nothing really interesting as always, probably 2-3 chapters till the end, because that amount is needed for wrap up in volume 2.
