I went back to check and Cop and Dolphin's 'final arc' properly started on ch 23, meaning it lasted a full half of the series, That's a really solid arc length for a series cancelled after a year. I'm curious if we've ever had a series like that before.

Some emotional chapters this week. I liked them all.

Sad for HBCP to finish, but at least it managed to finish at a high note, with a proper closing arc. We even had a hint of how the other arcs could have progressed (the search for all poseidracon, etc.)

I need to confess that Candy is growing on me. The fight against Popcorn Bakugou was really nice in humor. With such power dynamics I believe the manga cannot that itself too serious. The art seemed to have improved as well.

Speaking about 'improvements', for Red Hood they really tried to up the appeal of the hunter lady, didn't they? I want to know if they changed how the powers worked as well or not. Anxious for next week.

In my opinion, when the final arc started it wasn't meant to be final, but rather a major arc designed as a last attempt to gain some momentum, The first chapters of this arc have also the same name, Sunked ruins part 1,2,3,...
At a certain point it was clear that the series wouldn't have continued for much longer and Tamura transformed it into the final arc. The nomenclature for the chapters was also dropped more or less when the flashbacks began. The end result is a 5-volumes short series with a confusing opening but a satisfying closure.

Looking closely at art style for red hood it really does look similar to horikoshi art is this person a old assistant or just a fan like the person who made black milk

I think he’s actually one of Horikoshi’s assistants

Reading this a day late threw me off. I kept seeing the theme of fatherhood running through multiple series only to realise UK and Japan have the same Father's Day. That made for a good addition to every series that featured those elements, though overall the issue was definitely missing its two big dogs in One Piece and Jujutsu Kaisen.

Great:
1. (+2) Blue Box - Another chapter where I'm so happy a sports/romance series is running in WSJ. Everything flows nicely, the characters are all a treat, the main relationship dynamic only gets sweeter by the chapter. We're clearly in for a slow burn but I don't mind one bit with the extra attention we're getting to the sports journeys. So happy it got the #1 spot so early in its run, now I can feel at ease with its future (although predicting it would perform well isn't too surprising).
2. (+6) Me & Roboco - After some middling chapters this gave me plenty of laughs. The initial premonitions were amusing but as the chapter went on and the gags circled back around it got funnier and funnier, and ended on the best note.
3. (+10) WITCH WATCH - Finally, Kenta Shinohara is tapping into the parts he's best at. Usually when he goes in on his emotional character arcs they span multiple chapters and reach One Piece-levels of flashback goodness, but this was a pretty great one chapter story. My favourite of the father-centric chapters for sure.
4. (+1) Sakamoto Days - This series is such fun, and the character its collecting are already returning in ways that make me like them even more the second or third time around. Loved the action again this week, felt like a creative way to take down the enemy.

Good:
5. (-1) My Hero Academia - While I really liked that final page and all the close up panels of Deku, the build-up throughout the chapter wasn't as exciting as I would have liked. It must be said however that the art continues to be excellent.
6. (+4) The Elusive Samurai - Probably my favourite chapter since the first one; the action flowed excellently, our main character is showing his own strength in a way that feels earned, and the side characters got some good shots in there too. Really nice stuff.
7. ( = ) Undead Unluck - Similar to MHA, I wasn't excited by most of the chapter but that final note it ended on has me excited for the near future of the series.
8. (-2) High School Family: Kokosei Kazoku - Not all the gags landed for me, but I especially enjoyed the 'confession' and the familial misunderstandings.
9. (+9) Magu-chan: God of Destruction - Thank you! Just when I was not feeling Magu-chan at all, it does exactly what it does when I enjoy it most: touches the heartstrings and has Magu and Ruru's bond strengthen, particularly with the aid ofher mother. Another nice father-focused chapter.

Fine:
10. (-1) Mashle - This fight is entertaining enough, but I'm not sure it was exactly LCP-worthy stuff, I don't know.
11. ( = ) Hard-Boiled Cop and Dolphin (END) - Ends on a solid note. Overall the final arc doesn't feel rushed, though I have to be honest and say this epilogue chapter did feel quite cramped. A lot happened and there were some wasted moments, I felt. Good stuff with Chako though, and it only feels correct that it ends of Father's Day. This will definitely go down as one of those cancelled series that didn't feel like a disaster because of its short-ish runtime (unlike some of the current bottom dwellers).
12. ( - ) Black Clover - It's weird... Noelle was one my favourite characters when I binge-read the series, but I don't feel at all engaged with this current fight. Felt the flashback fight was really oddly placed as well. Not loving BC right now.
13. (-1) Dr. Stone - The chapter was 50/50 stuffed science panels and massive full page 'epic' moments. I'm curious by the direction, just not looking forward to them building the capability for space travel in the next dozen or so chapters and it being justified in-world as something reasonable, lol.
14. (+3) Ayakashi Triangle - One of the better Ayakashi Triangle chapters in a while. Had its essential vagina armpit moment and plenty of ecchi moments but it still felt like we were getting to experience some real dynamics between the characters and the Ayakashi in question. Wish more chapters had this balance.

Bad:
15. ( = ) Nine Dragons' Ball Parade - For some reason this chapter wasn't as rushed as what's come before it, yet we've turned to semi-normal speed only to really focus on a character we've known for a grand total of two chapters, in a series that's getting cancelled in a matter of weeks. Such an odd choice. I'm afraid my days of being a fan are over, sadly.
16. ( = ) Candy Flurry - Maybe an inch more entertaining than the rest of this exam has been, but still nothing memorable, never mind original.
17. (-3) Mission: Yozakura Family - It's the comedy chapters of Yozakura Family like this that actually make me miss the generic chuunibyou ridiculous action chapters we'd been getting for a while.
18. (+1) I tell c - Feel pretty comfortable saying this is the worst WSJ manga I've read week-to-week. At least Our Blood Oath was entertaining and Build King felt like it was made by a (misguided) veteran. The scariest part is it doesn't feel like it's going to end this round.

In my personal opinion Spy x family and monster n.8 are overrated. The first is just boring, and without the little girl it would miss a lot.
The second one is just a bad copy of a Attack on titan with some similiarities with World Trigger

That's a weird reason to dislike something. Of course the series would miss with its main character removed. That's like saying One Piece or My Hero Academia would miss a lot without Luffy or Deku. It's also irrelevant as Anya is there so why even worry about it.

The main characters are the "parents" and the "daughter", 3 of them. Anya is not the only one main character

Ball Parade: This got good again, and not particularly rushed, either. I’m still not sure which one is going to end next week.

Candy Flurry: That was wild! I wasn’t sure what to think about it at first, but towards the end the humour started growing on me. I suspect it won’t work for everyone, but it gives the series its own personality, at least.

BB: Everyone is so sane in this manga. Well, except for the part where he whines about her changing in front of him and then does the same without thinking, but hey, I get it. He’s growing as a person and that’s nice to see.

WW: That was one of the best chapters yet (would’ve made for a fantastic one-shot, too). I like how her magic can’t solve everything, but you can combine it with other methods to make it work.

Mashle: Applying more pressure doesn’t actually make people pass out faster, there’s about ten seconds of oxygen in the brain itself. Which means Mash should be super dead. I know it’s a fantasy and all, but it’s a little annoying when the supposedly magicless character is pulling new supernatural abilities out of his hat every fight. (Plus there’s no reason for it; he could’ve just knocked him out instead. But I guess the joke was more important.)

AT: Plot! And a good one, even. The fanservice also bothered me less, I’m much more comfortable with Suzu just sitting in the bad then with all the creeper stuff.

TES: Now we’re moving! Good strategy there, girl. You should keep that pole, it seems pretty useful. (One small continuity error: he gets a dart in his left shoulder and then holds his right one.)

I tell c: Have I mentioned I can’t stand Sakon? But the new guy is kinda fun. I spent the whole time wondering if he is doing this willingly or if he’s being used by someone. Quite the interesting set-up.

Sakamoto: Good strategy and teamwork here also. I really like these two together. (But you should’ve taken that suit with you, dumbasses.)

UU: Whoa. I was not expecting that, but it’s good to split them up for a bit, since things were getting pretty one-sided.

Dr Stone: What a rollercoaster. Beautiful way of putting lots of information in one chapter without it feeling cramped. Also, I love that map of Europe that shows their route to Barcelona. Must’ve been a real challenge to draw it from that angle. And the earthrise at the end was cool, too.

C&D: (at page 5) Soo… Shark is a dolphin now? (page 13) Yes? (page 16) No? Well, nice job of throwing hints around to keep people guessing. I liked this chapter, but the ending was a little abrupt – I would’ve liked just a couple more pages to ease us into it. Otherwise the guy can really write, I hope he comes back soon with something that’s a little more focused from the start.

Yozakura: It went on a little long, but it did make me laugh and the ending was cute.

17. Candy Flurry: Too much mood whiplash from last chapter, although I see that many liked it. Anyway it is from the beginning of the series that I have this question: why should lollipops be considered a powerful weapon? If you get hit by one, the most they can do is giving you a bruise, right?
The same reason why anything is considered a powerful weapon when it's seven stories tall.

There's an entire movie genre about this.

yeah? The story still revolves around her. Of course removing her would completely change it and cause misses

It’s your opinion it’s boring but it’s really dumb to say it would miss without a main character - literally every story in existence would miss without a MC. And your thoughts on Kaiju 8 are also kind of silly because the comparisons are somewhat loose anyway.

Just say they’re overhyped by the community and nobody would’ve got on your ass about it lol

SxF is great and its first chapter was one of the best i can remember, K8 i do agree with you about, i gave it about 10 chapters and it didn't do much for me, wasn't bad or anything but nothing mindblowing either like the former
