What would it be from Square though? Nothing newer is big enough for anime yet except Rurouni Kenshin and it'd be weird to have a Hokkaido arc anime without finishing the original series first. And the only other thing that comes to mind is a possible s2 of Kemono Jihen but there wouldn't be any reason to keep it secret.

My guess is Spy x Family, I feel like it's about time for an anime of that to happen.

What I would personally like to see most is a new manga-accurate Beet the Vandel Buster anime (perhaps taking over from Dragon Quest when it ends, since the old anime was Toei and there's enough chapters for a full year), but I don't see much chance of it happening.

They most likely have other things that are gonna take up the cover later on, this was the most likely the one free slot they had. Keep in mind that Anniversary's in Jump are almost never 1:1, even back then; Bastard!! debuted in issue 14 of 1988 yet the first anniversary cover was in issue 10 of 1989, because issue 14 of that year was allocated to a new series (my beloved THE EDGE).

Do companies care? An easy example is adapting Tokyo Ghoul Re without properly doing Tokyo Ghoul. I'm pretty sure there's been other cases of adapting a sequel series when the original had an incomplete or poor adaptation but that's probably the biggest.

I know there's at least a couple people who check out the GFC oneshots, has anything stood out of the three so far? I remember Red Hood last year getting significantly more attention with the oneshot even being quickly fan-translated.

Also you think we'll ever see the 2017 winner show up with a series in WSJ? I think the creator's done a couple more oneshots since then, I feel like the winning oneshot itself is probably not coming but we could see them serialised with something else like Gondaira did with Poro.

It's the new name given to the regular booth stages in the past.

Fantastic cover for Neru, which is unsurprising, since the series has fantastic art if nothing else.

I don’t expect the secret stage to be anything from WSJ, iirc it’s not even grouped with WSJ stuff. Could be Kenshin but I’m leaning toward SxF anime. It’s extremely overdue; sales have peaked and probably needs an anime boost to continue growing.
