With Red Hood and Neru most likely both ending on ch 18, I wonder if they'll get 2 volumes or 3.

Series lasting until ch 19 always seem to get 3 volumes, but series only hitting ch 17 seem to go either way (Zipman got 2 volumes, while U19 got 3) and I can't see anything that ended on ch 18 from a quick check.

I guess it might depend on if they've got enough oneshots available or want to do lots of bonus stuff to fill up the pages?

Our Blood Oath was 18 and got 2 so probably just 2

I think I've figured out what's bothering me about PPPPPP so far: I feel like I'm reading an author's first draft.

I think there is a good story happening with impactful moments and hints of strong characterisation, but it needs some more work on the art and dialogue to help it really come across properly. It's weak mainly from a skill-perspective imo, rather than the typical WSJ flaws of having uninteresting or barely present characters or following boring plot directions.

Granted it isn't ranked yet so maybe enough people will see the good series hidden in there to keep it afloat, but I feel like the creator maybe could've done with an extra few months practice before serialisation.

I think I've figured out what's bothering me about PPPPPP so far: I feel like I'm reading an author's first draft.

It sounds better than being a tipically bad manga that shows potential in the 1st chapter only to fall apart in the next chapters.

So if the IDs are correct, then that means Red Hood and Neru must have gotten the cancellation notice like a month ago because it takes around that long to prep for the printing of the magazine. That means the editorial staff likely didn't have access to preorders and presale data.
Does this mean that the reader surveys are the only thing they consider for what new series survives?

If i'm not mistaken, both RH and Neru vol 1 been at least on Amazon for over a month, the pre order rankings are bad, under HSF that sell 5k/6k copies, but if for us in a forum it's been pretty obvious for a while that both series are not popular, for SJ that has much more and detailed info/data it would be even more obvious, there are dozen and dozen of series that were canceled even earlier, they know fast when a series is a complete flop.

Sakamoto Days - We are on the hype train! Great chapter
One Piece - The final part of the chapter was epic. Great combo

Good:
Witch Watch - Mini-Moi is so cute. One of the best chapters in the series.
Neru - Very good battle and explanations. Team Ryuzen served some justice. And what an unexpected person just showed up.
The Elusive Samurai - The battle is already on. General Unno is some crazy cool character.

PPPPPP - He sure did help the new girl. A monstrous ability as one of the judges conclude.
