It's not a claim, he definitely is a detective. One cannot lie when using the Red Truth. Might not mean anything for those who haven't read or played the series, but for those familiar with Umineko, lying when using the Red Truth is the biggest offense you could ever commit lol.

I'd love to see those who have read Umineko state that they have a townie role in red truth.

I have a townie role
Makes me imagine a game where you can't lie, you have to say the truth or at most, omit bits . Even the red truths in umineko made use of these. Would be fun

Evil and DD been ignoring all questions related to the detective claim and why they believe it.

They ignored all my questions and their reasoning just feels pushy.

Getting Guilty is the same as getting innocent since he doesn't know his sanity, but DD is acting like it an info worth revealing and acting on.

Revealing investigator for what? It D2 and nobody was planning to lynch him at all.

Evil is just going with the flow and acting like his decision is based on some real input.

Just very fishy stuff from these 2, but I can't think of an explanation, for both mafia and town to pull this play.

It actually making me feel dumb the way they are acting confident while I don't get it at all.

I have some theories on this, but nothing substantial

Btw the amount of time that was lost reading the entire "doc protects one target or not" convo is insane. Pretty pointless argument considering the chances of predicting the way killed illusions trigger are nearly zero, specially when theres at least 3 killing parties.

I use likes to keep track of posts that I've read.

There's nothing more to it.

I just didn't want to make myself a target for Mafia early on. Dying without getting to play my role would suck.

I don't have any "reads" per se.

I'm okay with lynching Marmalade to see if DigitalDude's investigation results are legitimate, but I'm also trying to watch and see if anything else turns up.

As a newbie is less likely that we are going to get killed on D1 based on our lack of overall experience.
You are now mentioning, or better said hitting at your role maybe in an attempt to clear the suspicion. So from your sentence, I gather you have an active role that can be played.

I would like to address a question if I am permitted.
Why are you hinting now when you feel the pressure of doubt, seeing as Grysun asked twice and you refused to give any hints. Why not keep it a secret and not hint at all even now?

And about voting Marm, you are at the moment just riding the train.
That leads me to the conclusion that you aren't taking any notes nor doing any lists. If you have paid close attention to the thread, DD might not be sane and Marm could actually be a Townie for all we know.
But I guess is easier going with what people say than following your own investigation

Evil's arguments for a Marmalade Lynch seem reasonable. If we can confirm Digital Dude's sanity, they could be a valuable asset to Town.

On how Town Protective roles should behave:
The illusion mechanic reduces information on both sides, so I'm guessing it theoretically favours Scum factions more. (They may have investigative roles and can communicate with each other). I'd guess that Scum factions wouldn't target the same person twice in a row if they don't know that it's needed. That is I'm sceptical that a Scum faction would risk wasting a kill if they do not know for sure that a kill failed.

I think someone like DigitalDude should be protected for now. Repeat protected going forward if we can confirm his sanity.


I haven't read most of the rest of the thread, and I'm very bad at forming reads on total strangers.
