Hmmm, okay, that was a good choice in the end. Still, I would have some questions.

Pom changed her vote from Shad at the last moment. How so?

I mean, congrats, nice catch, but was it more because of Shad’s comment? That, if he dies everyone should trust Asako and Uber? Like “I die and turn up townie, so trust Asako and uber”? (It felt like an intimidation tactic, well played well played shad)
I tried to consider seraph being thrown under the bus by pompom but it extremely unlikely to throw a strongman like that, today the seraph voters are just green in my opinion.

Also, Shad why did you lock on pompom if pom chan changed her vote in the end? Was that just a payback vote?
The day ended at 12 PM CET, I was in my standup meeting, only saw GB's vote on me and voted to save myself, it happened in less than a minute or so.

Now, I do have mixed feelings for Shad. I can’t vouch that he is totally town. What stood out to me the most was the quaternity that formed between him, Asako, Uber, and also James.
Town benefits from making friends as well, my play style.

Accepting James’ hint so early on is a bit suspicious in my eyes.
James said he can confirm himself, that is a straighforward as it gets, he confirms himself or we lynch him.

Shad said and I quote, “Careful what you say tho, mafia can interfere with your plans if they believe they can stop you and make you look sus, I hope it is not too late already” feels a bit off. I mean, we are still on the first day, no actions have been made, no real hint was given. So, it feels like either Shad might be baiting as a traitor or James is baiting as a bomb and that Shad just jumped in the gameplay.
I'm warning him that if he comes back later and says 'I was blocked` it won't work, he should only say this publicly if he has one of those day confirming roles.

I could say the same even for Cinera, who said that he will follow the voting train but cast his vote in the end on Shad, although Shad only had one vote at the time. And if we are still talking about Cinera, the entire flipflop from going to bed to oh wait I am at work felt a bit sussy sus. Late shifts or just a slip-up

Also, if there are no kills that means the mafia either got blocked or the mafia just recruited?
I think Cinera voting james then switching on me.
And james voting Cinera who had no chance of being lynched, is because Cinera had his vote on james at that time.

James voted Cinera who had no chance of being lynched, RED FLAG.

I will try to go more in detail on Cinera later, but he is right now my highest suspect from the votes.

No deaths and a good lynch. It's a good start for a game.

All these last minutes changes were shady. I can accept that scav was just revenge voting, but then James just follow up on it 2 posts later...Hmmmm.
I'll keep this in mind for later.

One hour is plenty of time . What are these little things? You said there were posts that grabbed your attention, could you at least say which ones?
I thought my phrasing made it obvious enough I didn't have the time to stay around to discuss said things.

I also didn’t like tatsu’s post. “have less time than I would have liked for the remainder of the first day. Some people's change of playstyle is worth noting.” But no examples at all. It feels mostly like hollow words only to appear engaged.
I don't like throwing things in the wind and just leaving. Sharing something and then not being there to read other people's opinions seems useless.

About the changes of playstyle I meant: GB who is usually trollish but seemed a little closed off; Seraph who I didn't play with I think but watched in a game and he seemed colder than before; I also remembered James to be more talkative.

The posts that grabbed my attention were James "I can prove myself" cause it's interesting and will come forward in the game later on. There was Cinera hint not hint about "I hate people who break oaths" so I was trying to think about which roles it could be related to as a hint.
I think there was another one but I have to backread to find it.

uuuh so lot of last minute votes/vote changes from yesterday were questionable from GB to cinera who both went for shad
Also the two votes on tatsu that came out of nowhere without an explanation seem weird
Imma start with @kira why me? U simply came to drop a vote on me without explaining ur reason

But...actually Cinera voted SERAPH before switching to you.
James voted me not cinera. It's Seraph who voted cinera even.

Oooooh yeah you already had one vote ! So this could have been a saving attempt since it was a locked vote.

My point is:

Seraph didn't try to save himself, while it was still possible even tho he said: Thank god I came back in time this time, then voted Cinera who had 0 or 1 vote need to check.

In what world does the strongman vote cinera instead of the people with 3 votes.

Cinera voted Seraph first though, not James, before switching to you. His reason for picking Seraph was very confusing and didn't make sense (unlike Margi's and Sam's), then he switched his vote to you right after pompom voted, and again he gave a rather shaky excuse to do so.

We should not let him get away with this, we need to hear some convincing reasons

Okay now it makes more sense. You are right to note those cinera seraph voting interactions.

Good point. Strongman are very useful, which justify the last minutes votechanges to save him. Weird indeed that he didn't save himself.

That's James who said that. You're confusing seraph and james here

Great result for Day 1! My superior Samamence intuition came through strong yet again :) But now it's time for my next attack!

はがねのつばさ HAGANE NO TSUBASA - STEEL WING! VOTEKILL GB!

In the dying moments of Day 1, noting that hosts hadn't updated the voting list GB had tried to make a last minute vote that would've put Shad level with Seraph or potentially ahead before Pom voted for him. I could pass off his "townie role" hint D1 as him lightheartedly trolling but the vote antics might mean there's something more sinister.

Reviewing the events that transpired on D1 regarding Seraph's lynch, in chronological order: First, Sam and margi vote seraph, out of (more or less) justified suspicion. Then comes Cinera with a third vote on sera, but his reason for doing so was very confusing and vague.

After that pompom votes shad as a "placeholder", then two posts later (or smthg) Cinera out of the blue changes his vote to shad. This puts Shad and Serph to two votes each.

Then, in the last few minutes, Pompom goes from shad to seraph instead, and immediately after that GB votes shad (note that the votes were not updated when GB pulled his move, meaning it still showed that shad and Sera were at 2 votes, among others).

@GB you should have left your mafia buddy perish alone...that was a pretty clumsy last min shot you pulled there if you ask me lol. What say you?

@Cinera can you provide some reasons for your posting yesterday, highlighting the switch from Seraph to Shad? Just pointing it out...
  • #124 your tactic was to vote the wagon of the time, provide thoughts later. You vote Seraph.
  • #131 your thoughts later were that uberfayt and Shad were your 'town reads'
  • #143 in reply to Shad's questioning, you state that uberfayt and Maryxxi were your 'town reads'... Shad got scrapped?
  • #148 you quoted a post from Lady pompom (#42) where she made points about Shad's sus posting. You concurred, a full 100+ posts later. Bringing up this, much later, is what stands out.
  • #150, convinced, you votelock Shad (although it looks like you believe you can vote more than twice).
Within a span of 27 game posts you managed quite the mess.

IIRC Seraph has a tendency to vote his own mafia team to create 'separation', at times. This is not of your doing or something I want an answer about, it's just a thought for now.
--- Double Post Merged, , Original Post Date: ---

Also, the entire voting debacle, why did everyone accept Brandish’s “had it before” hint but went totally against Scav and GB’s. I mean, in my eyes, Brandish should have also been on the unreliable list, mostly because of this particular comment:
“I'll place an ineffective holder on Maryxiii. To avoid 'saving'. Or getting bombed.”
Is Brandish hinting at an important role, is that why she doesn’t want to get bombed? And putting placeholders sometimes can end up in a voting train, so you might actually end up saving a scum or killing a town without wanting to.
Well, 'had it before' hints are in the same weak sauce hint category as 'passive', 'active', 'fits my character'; imo.

BUT, I chose that hint yesterday, so today I could say my senpai (Belserion) has not had this role before.

Ok you are on fire, if you got GB as well I will vote you best town next award xD

I created this so I can see the votes properly!
Step by step replay of the voting, just got it to work, will improve it later, time to sleep!
(No visual indicator for Lock / Change)

This is what I've been doing all night, I didn't even get to use it to find the scum, damn you all!

good night.

It was gonna be a tie between pompom-chan and seraph so I changed my vote to someone else. Didn't want my vote to help kill her 1st day :arf

I also didn't notice Brandish voted for you :arf there was 2 minutes left and I just skimmed the vote list and went for a name I didn't see.

Sure.

My main motive for the switch was:
"Hey, I don't want to be responsible for Lynching this random guy. I only voted him as a placeholder and don't find him suspicious".

I never did finish catching up on the thread before the day phase ended (I had a very busy day at work). The thoughts I posted were my thoughts as I was reading through the thread.

I voted Shad because:
1. I found him a bit suspicious.
2. Voting him wouldn't have locked a Lynch on him.
3. I wasn't trying to save Seraph since I didn't read him to be Town (I had no read), so I didn't want to vote someone else that would make them the leading wagon.

I was trying to avoid responsibility for determining the Lynch. Especially because I hadn't caught up.

Shad tagged me and asked if I wanted to be responsible for pulling the trigger on Seraph, and my answer was "No". I had no independent reason to vote Seraph and it was a placeholder vote to avoid incurring a penalties.

My laziness/inability to catch up with the thread shouldn't determine the Lynch on someone.

If I could have removed my vote I would have done so. Or if I could abstain from voting.

I guess it looks like a weird voting pattern considering Seraph's flip. But if I independently knew Seraph was Scum (e.g. I was a teammate of his), then:
  1. I had no reason to vote for him in the first place.
  2. I had no reason to switch vote from him late in the day phase when he was about to get Lynched.
  3. If I was trying to save Seraph in particular I would have voted for another leading wagon to switch the Lynch to them.

My actions are admittedly weird, but it comes from a place of trying to absolve myself of responsibility.

Anyway, I'm sleeping right now and saw the push notification for this mention by chance. I wouldn't be replying to anything else until I wake up (in a few hours).

Decent bit of wheelspinning to basically say "I didn't want to lynch a potentially sus person and look bad if it went wrong" 🤔

Niiiiice!! :nod Hopefully Mafia was blocked last night and we're having a great start!

I had a draft ready yesterday to question Cinera this D2 but I see we've all noticed his inconsistencies ^^

It's still pretty strange that you went from "I believe you're Town Shad" to "I'm votekilling Shad" 7 posts later.
If you didn't want to start a train or were too scared of pulling the trigger on anyone, you should have just voted a player who didn't have a vote on them yet. Shad already had one vote when you switched to him.

Could be a recruitment, could be doc, could be prostitute, could be Bulletproof being target, in any case - as far as we know no one died and Mafia lost their Strongman. So far so good.

We can also conclude that the three who voted for Seraph are pretty much townie, highly unlikely that mafia would off one of their guys so early on and that we got a TP in such a small game. So we can cross those three off as sus, for now, and focus on the rest, myself included ofc.

I have Tatsu and GB as my main suspects for today, hope they will talk a lot today.^^
I think we're still waiting for an explanation about why you suspect Tatsumaki?

I am an active role
Any thoughts on D1's events?
