For me, the blog post just made the obvious clear and that many just ignore it out of pure functional illiteracy: characters at the same level have disadvantages and advantages depending on who they face.

In many cases SIU has already made it clear that x is stronger than y, the biggest example of this is when HJ says that not even he can deal with the slayer who is stuck on the train (White), when things get ambiguous, like Yama vs Yasratcha or HJ x Kallavan people only see what they want.

While it would make sense that characters on *roughly* the same level might have a slight edge or disadvantage rock-scissors-paper style (see also chakra element types; water trumps fire, while wind makes fire hotter and so on), IMO SIU has remained vague with unsettled fights for quite a long time.

There's also the ambiguous 'elaborations' he gives like where Jinsung vs Kallavan could have gone another way entirely from that old blog. TBF, 2 people could fight 10 times with 20 different results.

The only thing that's clear is he doesn't like doing decidedly clear-cut battles unless the opponent is overwhelmingly superior or inferior. Like Urek fighting a speck of dust ranker.

He doesn't even give us ranks any more. I honestly can't remember the last time.

This is why i use top 100 or top 300 , but it get harder to gauge who is stronger .

I can just be confident that Khell ehlahm and Baam seem to be best top 100 right now .

Yes, you know he likes to leave 90% of things ambiguous because he's afraid of tying the series and not knowing how to deal with it later.

I truly wonder if he knows what direction to go, or just has loosely-connected pieces that he can attach on a whim, or is just kind of winging it in between the big events he might have once had in mind (if he's even keeping those as commitments).

I mean, a decade++ to get 2/5 up the tower is a long time. Though, Baam is narrowing the gap with the ultra-high rankers very quickly.

That high up in the rankings, it's mostly matchup specific, outside of outliers from what I understand. I remember Evankhell saying that anyone can kill anyone in the TOP300 or something similar.
