To me it looks like pudily has dealt with jinsung pretty well in close range. At times he has even looked to engage jinsung in CQC. I think it's a hard sell that jinsung is not serious. He even made the point that his arms couldn't take much more damage (because they still had some damage from his fight with kallavan). I agree in that his hidden dragon would wreck pudily though for the purposes of my post I don't think that's an issue. Since the post is basically about how the LPB are not in context frail. The hidden dragon technique almost torn kallavan apart, pretty sure an expectation of the LPB doing that is unreasonably anyways.
But my point was that her true talent started when stopped using all the advantages her position and money gave her at the last station. Or at least that's the point the series roughly made. So, um, agreed I think?
I don't think we're in disagreement, nor are we in total agreement though.
Pudding is at the top of the list for LPB. Apples to apples is the top of the list for the Ha - sooooo, Jinsung. Now, not an exact comparo but close enough.
Pudding -
with his summons - can roughly take on HJ in a casual fight. I say casual because both aren't really going 'all-out' - Eagle owl is ofc at home, and Jinsung's arms can't do his ace moves. So, with mid-tier effort it's roughly a wash with neither making huge advances or damaging the other. Again, this is WITH Pudding using summons.
The MOMENT Pudding's summons are removed from the equation he started getting heavy push-back from Jinsung. Jinsung, who has relatively-frail arms (from being fully-healed that is), and isn't even using mid-tier named moved - he certainly has moves that he can pull out short of Dragon Tiger Gate. He used a few against Kallavan IIRC. For someone that's supposedly learned all there is in regards to martial arts (he's ToG's Kakashi?), all he's done is 1-2 punches.
If Jinsung had full use of his arms or they could tolerate stronger attacks, we have no reason to believe that a summons-less Pudding wouldn't start bleeding from orifices with the quickness.
Now, ofc Pudding without a summons could probably CQC/H2H win against a rando AR with just punches alone, but that's because he's a HR on the higher side of things.
Similarly, if Elaine lost her ability to use Fenryl, she's still talented, sure, but her signature attacks and defenses are out the window. Fenryl is the only reason Baam had to put in work basically.
Likewise, Elaine could still use her positional/reels skills against lower-tier people, such as regs, but against someone she's fighting to a wash WITH Fen she would be quickly vanquished once Fen is gone.
Put more succinctly - LPB, and in particular LPB anima (or even non-LPB anima), generally-speaking aren't comparable to their peers if they lose access of the ability to summon/their shinhueh.
