You have a good point. But for me the POF only came when she fought Irene and brought down her swords on Acno.
END is not overhyped if he can kill Zeref if complete, and nerfed Zeref can damage and overtime kill a DG. Erza was burning from his attack alone when he stopped. Makarov said that Erza would likely scale to Laxus so they would be close to relative.
It was never stated END could kill Zeref nor that he was incomplete. The strongest (and only) version we've seen of END is on PoF Gray's level. Erza being burned did not bother her at all.
Considering that he was slowly transforming overtime would be an indicator to that since his power awakened and did not have markings back then or grow demon arms, and Zeref said that END is what can kill him, and that his power is meant to overpower that of Gods. because of stamina, she has massive amounts of it, not durability.
