2. The fact that they choose to use crest instead of surname as the prize of the competition means the acknowledgement doesn't relate to right to bear Khun surname.

Nb:
During the Name Hunt Station, Khun Ran name was announced loud (with surname included). His name garner attention further as he defeat Hesse. And S.I.U. literally tells us that its basic position is Wave controller

No, he didn't change that one. SIU already explained at that time that ranker, especially stronger one can fill multiple position, not just their main position. YHS's main position is Wave Controller, but he can also fill other position.

Saying YHS is a fisherman is somewhat misleading as it is not his main position. YHS is a wave controller who can also operate as fisherman, light bearer, etc.

When a character is introduced in ToG along with their position, this position is the primary/main position, it can differ from the actual position that they took in battle as battlefield is constantly fluctuating. Note that Khun Eduan can also be a fisherman, but no tower residents would say Khun Eduan is a fisherman... they would say Khun Eduan is a spear bearer.
