As I said in the chapter commentary.
If Baam leaves the Nest without fulfilling the mission he released to the world, which is to save his master, I think that will end up being negative marketing.
Who he needs to convince are the bigwigs and hidden forces in the tower who fought against the upper echelons of the empire or 13GW themselves.
His escaping with the mission complete carries a lot more weight than running away from an FH, especially if the story of the Gustang attacking the LPB mothership gets out.
For the longest time I said anything less than an escape with Jinsung intact is a loss for FUG, or put another way escaping with Jingung is a win even if some deaths occur in doing so as that was the stated goal and Baam faced a bunch of CC-level enemies in doing so. This success would be enough to win over the last holdouts (most if not all) in FUG and put the tower on notice that Zahard's army has started to fail - something previously unheard of. As their tasks are clear - capture/kill Baam, and retain bait Jinsung in doing so, killing off the FUG advance at the Nest is a given, as is protecting the treasure. All of that is going to shit, so it looks like FUG's win, right?
Well, now with the arrival of a FH, all the talk of wins and losses (for both sides) go out the window. We're no longer talking about army corps and CCs, but a god of the tower.
I think at this point, Baam merely surviving the conflict/interaction is a 'win' in of itself. No longer does that necessitate Jinsung's survival IMO.
