I think there are a lot more "branches" than there are official branches. For example: The sniper lady was the vice commander of her branch and there were no official leader of it. She was promised that if she did good in this battle then she would be promoted to full branch head and presumably her branch would become an official one.

Same with the monkey branch and the wolf branch. Both were official branches at some point but lost their leaders in some way or another. They did not have anyone strong enough to replace the leaders and as such they were demoted and no longer counted as official branches.

As such I think there are a ton of small and obscure "branches" that have little political influence and are not officially recognized. Ren's branch might be one of them.
In Lefav's case, her branch is official, it's just temporarily without a leader, I believe that since she is a top 300, if she reached the top 200, she would be officially promoted. Remember Dokoko said there were 3 branch heads in the nest, she was like an interim BH.

Elaine's branch still exists (or at least existed until NHS) idk as to what happened to Dokoko's branch, maybe it's one of the guys that got killed by Yasratcha's plans

what the hell am i reading
I still don't get the psychology of this season.

A childish monster who is a mere ranker is trying to kill you. You the irregular, boast your power oozing with 2 administrators and 1 family leader's former pokemon or something. You the ranker, still insist that the person is a mere regular and proceeded to fight him.

The irregular you fought is struggling for literally no reason and is pulling a bunch of unnecessary skills for literally no reason. That man could've just air smacked you just like what he did against strong and ferocious High Rankers he fought.

But if he's trying not to kill you, a ranker, out of mercy, which is also makes no sense. And the whole fight took 2 chapters after a huge war he just fought.

And Rachel is still a B

This is... Tower of God Season 3
I knew this wouldn't get any better after the hiatus, it looks like it's just getting worse.

he is just there explaining his ability and EVERYTHING, what kind of battle strategy is that, helping the enemy??

, if Baam had used shinwonryu the crying in the comments would be bigger
Haha true. The situation siu made is so contradicting that whichever the story flow he take, we'd be annoyed by it 😅

Bam taking a hard time against ren is stupid in someway.
But if bam one shot him/defeats ren too easily would also disappointing for an old enemy since S1 to be fodder. There'd be no point in having him reappear here...unless it would taken to trigger main force of RED dispatch.

As usual, my take of the problems with the plot is because siu simply messed up. The world building foundation is weak and has too many potential plothole

he is just there explaining his ability and EVERYTHING, what kind of battle strategy is that, helping the enemy??
Half of the chapter should be an inner thought

Lefav has a BH she represents him in chap 474
Elaine also has a BH and must be living very well

Didiano said his branch doesn't have a BH and his branch just got eaten by another branch.

So I don't think there is a sub-branch, BH is the heart of the branch if it dies there is nothing to stop another branch from absorbing the branch.

there would "currently" be 20 branches and any family that tries to become important but doesn't have a BH will just get eaten by the existing branches, with the Yas flashback we know the BH don't like competition and seeing their influence drop, so I really don't think they would let sub families develop, just eat them and gain influence and prestige, who's going to stop them? not Traum that's for sure.

The problem with that thought is that the Pudidy and Perseus branch are really dead, they will be eaten by a branch with a BH, and we will never see the Eagle Owl again

OK, so how does that work exactly?

Animal Branch A consumes Animal branch B. Let's say arbitrarily Fox Family, A, and Lion Family, B.

If the branch head for the Lion Family is killed, and the whole branch is consumed by another branch, does that mean Family A now has both animas that have a predilection for using foxes AND animas that prefer (possibly can only use) Lions?

Are the animals/shinheuh used by Anima that interchangeable? Is it merely a matter of acquiring sets of shinheuh, passed down for generations, as spoils of war/weapons for their anima to then use?

I was under the impression that the anima and the shinheuh they use are a special relation due to lineage. As in they are specifically bred to use X, Y, or Z animals, or perhaps they can ONLY use that animal type. Obviously, for special users like Rei, trainers, Ren (by way of his leech), they can use any and all animals. But lower-tier anima in any given family are partial to a specific species. Or is it merely a matter of access (snake branch anima are only given/inherit snakes for example)?

Also, what is the new, larger branch then called? You can't be the 'windbird branch' or the 'snake user branch' if you use birds and deer, snakes and monkeys. Etc.

You ask a complex question, I will try to answer it.

I don't think that the animal totem of a branch forces you to use the same shinheuh or shinheuh, it seems logistically complex and too complicated.

Are the animals/shinheuh used by Anima that interchangeable? Is it merely a matter of acquiring sets of shinheuh, passed down for generations, as spoils of war/weapons for their anima to then use?
In fact yes they are interchangeable.
Traum gave the windbird to Dokoko
he also implicitly gave the snake to Yorari/8th son.
so as long as your anima ability follows you can change your shinheuh.
in both cases they were already anima, so they logically had to use another shinheuh before Traum gave them the ones they are currently using
So I guess with your example the BH Fox could say to the lion branch "ok now everyone use foxes".

Not all BH's are necessarily anima, so I guess that's not necessarily the case. WGW is not and Meier ( future BH ) is not either
Lack of access, as I said above you can change shinheuh, ( at least everything indicates that you can)

Also, what is the new, larger branch then called? You can't be the 'windbird branch' or the 'snake user branch' if you use birds and deer, snakes and monkeys. Etc.
the branch will be named after the branch that absorbed the weaker one, so the lion branch will be part of the fox branch
so the name of the branch will be "Fox branch".

I think Baam explains the whole fiasco at the end of the fight. Ren SUCKS at fighting but is a cheater who relies on hacks. It is those hacks that Baam was unprepared for and required a little bit of thought beyond pure skill. However, at the end of the fight, Ren is the loser even though he is a cheater.

It makes no sense to frame ren as a cheater though. Even if the implication is that ren is a gimmicky fighter (which I would argue the chapter doesn't make a good case out of) that's never been held against fighters in the story.
