Fair enough, his attitude after being defeated by Kaido is the only thing I have liked about him.

I just noticed Oda raised our expectations on these fights by showing Law's crew, which seemed more useless than Kid's, actually being useful and strong right before this fight.

I was hoping for more of a showing. A real fight, but hype is hype. I wanted to see what Heat and Wire were capable of, but I guess the Onigashima Raid anime is as close as I'm going to get.

Man, I gave up on Kid after what LOda did to him in Wano arc.

I realized it in Wano itself that Oda couldn't give a damn. Was hyped to see what Kid could be brining to the table, after seeing him compete with Luffy in Udon prison.

But then, Oda couldn't be bothered.

I expected magneto type shit, what we got instead was bulls and choke slams. Oda could make even seemingly meh DFs look interesting if he tried or was invested in it, but somehow one of the more interesting DFs somehow failed to impress when it came to creativity and usage. Tells us everything we need to know here.
The final EM canon was the only real standout there.

Was revealed to have conqueror's haki, but we didn't see that go anywhere.

I expected him to put a mid diff at least.

But it seems like matchup strikes (one would expect Shanks to be the more offense oriented fighter in contrast to BM). Or BM is an even bigger bum than what we thought she was.
Probably a mix of both I suppose lol.

Shanks is dead between now and the last chapter release so I'm not complaining about any Shanks hype moments but Big Mom was an absolute travesty of a character concerning hype. I did not like a single aspect of her. Onr of the biggest fumbles of a big bad in manga history

I don't think kidd will win against shanks of course but I can't imagine him simply getting one shoted. Kid's awakening has proven beyond doubt it's capable of yonko level feats at least, there's no way it doesn't do something at least.

Were dorry and brogy powerful? it's been so long, I barely remember them. From my vague recollection I don't recall anything that puts either particularly ahead of luffy at that time... Maybe I will reread that arc soon. I suppose they could also be getting the crocodile treatment.

Big Mom said if she had the Giant Warrior Pirates on her side, she would have been Pirate King. Remember that Dorry and Brogy were their former captains

Their duo attack as the Strawhats were leaving the island is above anything Luffy could do pre-TS, duo or not.

They did seem weak because one was captured by Mr.3, but they were just tired after fighting daily for 300 years and it was not Mr.3 who defeated him either way: he made him slip so the other giant would beat him.

The are definetly strong. I think the whole point of their original appearance was to illustrate with Sovereign Ikkoku (which destroyed a seabeast-ish creature) how small fish Luffy and co. still were at that point, and give a glimpse at the power ceiling of the world.
