Question Garp's Survival

Simple question do you think Garp will make it to the end of the series.
Will Blackbeard kill him?
Or will Oda do something random like say Imu kill him as say collateral damage.
Yes I know that last one was random but hey Oda is just setting him. And Oda has already set up the Shanks Blackbeard feud since Water 7.
I personally can't decide and think it might be to early to tell.
Anyway post what you think about all this.

I don't think he will make it. He may survive for some arcs but he'll go down if not by a pirate, by someone like Akainu.

Hmmm, dunno. I feel like garp is sort of primed to die but it'd kinda suck if we never see a reunion between him and luffy before that happens.

I dont think Oda will have BB tied to Garp dying, because in a sense, BB is already tied to the death of another member of Luffy's family, Ace.

BB didnt kill Ace directly, but it wouldnt have happened without BB's involvement.

Imo, if Garp gets killed it will be due to Imu. That would be a motivator for luffy if he were to fight against Imu.

Or Sabo. I know his ties to Sabo are a ton less compared to Luffy and Ace from what we were shown.....but it would be cool to see it, nontheless, for Garp to know that Luffy still has Sabo.

Wonder how Luffy reaction if Garp die, after what happen at marine ford, did he bail cry, anger or just cold expresion,,
Even thou i dont want it, i see Grap die, "a Marine Hero die at Pirate island", kinda poetic for me, not to say its kinda mirror to save Ace, where he cannot protect his family, here he try to rescue his apperentice.

I feel like before any yonko has a fight with another yonko we should have something like a yonko summit. Like shanks, bb, luffy and buggy meeting and putting all cards on the table.

After Wano I'm convinced more than ever Oda doesn't have it in him to kill off main characters. For those reasons I'm doubtful of Garp's demise in the story at this point. Maybe the upcoming arcs will change my mind but stakes in One Piece have never felt life or death to me

But Wano sure have the most body counts in 1 arc, 2 CP0's, Orochi, Kanjuro, ashura, Izo, probally Hawkin,

I don't consider any of those as main characters. Killing Garp off is same level of death as Ace and I just don't see Oda doing that with Garp. He'll go for someone else like Shanks or Rayleigh is my guess if he ever repeats it

BB going to Kuja for Boa, instead he got Coby, Ciby got capture, Garo comes,,
Oda already plan on something since early, so if Garp just come n take Coby back w/o harm it just wasted panel n plot, allnof this will trigrer something,,

Sure it can, for right now i only see Garp die, n it will level up Coby more n make him more relate in final war,,

The world is supposed to be turnt upside down once Piece is found so I have always expected some Marines like Garp to side on Joy Boy side for the final war against the World Government and Imu. The WG is definitely stronger than a Yonko crew considering new Marine including SSG is supposed to balance the 4 Yonko, and there is also WG Commander in Chief (Kong) who can probably summon 100-nation army + CP and Gorusei. If we aggregate to Luffy side his Pirate Fleet + Revolutionary Army + Elbaf + Alabasta + Wano some further help from Sword seems to be required.

Garp is one of those guys who have a heavy death flag on top of them.


- His death can hype up the antagonist
- Was the one who raised the MC
- is raising the next "marine hero"
- his death will serve the plot purposes for both the Luffy and Coby

I don't know who will kill him though. Best bets are Blackbeard or Aokiji. A tiny chance that Shiryuu backstabs him too, but that would serve no clear plot purposes.

I have 2 theories

1 theory is that Imu is going to kill Garp as collateral damage. Like say Imu decide too have another Death Star moment and Garp is on it. Like say currently Garp is on Beehive Island the headquarters of Blackbeard and the former Headquarters of ROCK. And Imu be like "I've had it with these motherfucking pirates on this motherfucking island". Blackbeard pirates some how survive of course. And this is a long with what is going on with Cobra and Sabo is what leads to everyone discovering about Imu.

2. Garp find's out something on Beehive Island that will lead him too Imu. Imu after it gets out decides to kill Garp.

I say Imu because
Akainu killed Ace
Blackbeard and Shanks Grudge
Tho I wouldn't mind if Imu killed Shanks and Blackbeard killed Garp.
Just so long has Imu gets rid of someone important specifically to Luffy.

Shouldn’t Garp already know Sabo is alive from long time ago? I mean, he is surely know Sabo the chief of staff of Revolutionaries Army right?

Im sure Garp visited Ace and Luffy at times after Sabo attempted to set sail and his ship was blown up....and was told by them, or by the mountain bandits, what happened.



Luffy looked at Sabo's adult face and didnt recognize him at first. Garp can be a thick head as well, so it wouldnt be surprising if hes not considering the same chief of staff is luffy's brother.
